  1. Hillary and Trump

Celebrities Getting Cold Feet About Leaving the U.S. After Trump's Victory http://insider.foxnews.com/2016/11/12/celebrities-getting-cold-feet-about-leaving-us-after-trumps-victory "Before Donald Trump's stunning election victory, dozens of celebrities - including Chelsea Handler, Whoopi Goldberg and Amy Schumer - said they would leave the country if he won the presidency. Now, they're not so sure..." The entire election cycle is not just full of drama but lots of BS.... from every possible corner. One has to realize and accept it on some level else one is little more than having their head stuck in the sand. Who truly believed these celebs were serious enough to truly keep their word? In fact, maybe a lot of younger folks who look up to these celebs as model citizens with integrity and honesty and willing to risk living in the US for a greater cause.... NOT. So character flaws abound in everyone and it is very telling how much we are seeing that in the Dems now that HC lost. This is not to excuse or diminish the point about DT... but to be fair, we could find lots of issues on both sides of the aisle.
  2. Hillary and Trump

I was surprised they waited so long to call MI... seemed rather obvious up till now and it would of stopped all the talk that Hillary won the popular vote. Just goes to show that even the media won't wait on final results if they can create drama on nothing...
  3. Learning from Immortals

I never mentioned 'Daoism'. Dao is infinite paths... I mentioned paths.
  4. Learning from Immortals

One can't understand another system till they have achieved some level with that system. It is for that reason I don't criticize another's practice or path; it is not mine and therefore not mine to really comment too much on. I appreciate those who have been willing to demonstrate or share their practices, even if I felt nothing from it. It is not so much about whether I can feel from their practice as it is not mine, but when I do I recognize there is something our energy shares in common.
  5. Hillary and Trump

It would be a win-win to do it... And then let the FBI continue their investigation into the Clinton Foundation.
  6. Hillary and Trump

So instead of the electorate that results in only 12 important states calling it, we should go to the popular vote and 2 states can call it
  7. Hillary and Trump

I get it but I don't speculate as such... I'm in 'wait and see' mode. Too many checks and balances, staff and departments, etc. I'm allow the next phase to play out and I think we'll see a different Trump but likely more the business man. JMO.
  8. Hillary and Trump

I agree on some level.. it's time to move on past election borrowed rhetoric. If Trump is smart, he'll settle the Trump U thing quickly to get it out of the way...and he'll likely distance himself from anything about HC investigations. I'm betting he'll put aside most of the past rhetoric and get down to 'business'... why should we do any less on some level.

  10. Proposing a new party

Instead of the Trump chants of , U-S-A... we'll hear: N-I-P And the opposition party will chant: R-I-P
  11. In answer to the title, IMO: Karmic Destiny
  12. Hillary and Trump

    No but post election maybe
  13. Hillary and Trump

I wondered if anyone noticed this... not shakin' but as he was not in control of the situation and was forced to second fiddle... he looked a bit uncomfortable. Notice he called Obama a 'good guy'... This is Trump's phase 2...
  14. Is that offer also open to anyone else ? If so, meet now in chat ?
  15. Hillary and Trump

maybe the nightmare they are waking up to is not Trump as president but just life itself
  16. Hillary and Trump

And why I think his first stage of an election run is over and he'll move on to the next stage of getting down to business and I seriously doubt that will include doing anything negative to the Clinton's. Other's might want to or try to but I don't think he'll let himself get caught up in it.
  17. LOA and Trump?

I would agree he maintained his own version of 'positive vibrations and relative integrity' and that is part of his methods and how he knows how to sell to consumers hungry for something he could provide. Ryan just said that Trump heard a voice from the masses that nobody else heard. But it is not enough to just hear it. Political hacks and pundits have been studying what to do year after year and it took an outsider to see through it all and realize a way to appeal to masses. I said to my wife that what we've mostly seen so far is one side (face) of Trump... be prepared to see the side that has made him not just powerful and successful but pay attention to the way he listens and pay attention to the issues ahead. I hope he deflects any questions about the past or past issues... that was the first stage face... the next stage is to stick to the present and look to the future.
  18. Daodejing Translation

For those wondering where that thread is, asking about his book, it is here and has a link to Amazon: http://www.thedaobums.com/topic/41855-lok-sang-ho-translation-in-book/
  19. Hillary and Trump

Yea... maybe future voting locations should be setup near a church or just in them
  20. I'm not running nor have a horse in the race... I just sit back and watch the 10,000 2 arise and fall... and I notice it happens sometimes more than once a day
  21. Mair 3:5

So Legge's 'loosening' loosely fits ?
  22. Flowing Hands now has a PPD where his TTC transmission can be found as a download: http://www.thedaobums.com/forum/485-flowing-hands/
  23. Mair 3:5

Last Line in Chinese: 古者謂是帝之縣解 古者謂 - Ancients said 是 - is 帝之 - God's or Emperor's 縣 - Prefecture (only makes sense if Emperor above) or To Hang [by the head], or hair hanging down. 解 - To Transport under guard (only makes sense if Emperor above) or 解 - to divide / to break up / to split / to separate / to dissolve / to solve / to melt / to remove / to untie / to loosen / to open / to emancipate / to explain /to understand / to know / a solution / a dissection Mair: "Emancipation of the Gods" Lu Yutang: "Emancipation from bondage" Burton: "being freed from the bonds of God". Legge: "The ancients described (death) as the loosening of the cord on which God suspended (the life)." Nina: "dismissing the ruler from his earthly responsibilities"
  24. Mair 3:5

I think you means God preventing men based on Mair's "the emancipation of the gods" (or maybe Legge's loosening). It is not that God prevented it; man was preventing it with 'excessive indulgences'. Man's attachments and desires create a situation whereby they don't follow nature, but at the first moment of following your nature, you are releasing yourself from your attachments. I might say that Mair calls this emancipation of the gods to suggest (maybe I'm force fitting my idea and not his) that this emancipation occurs once we re-connect with nature, and that is something the gods empower one to be able to do. Might be easier to think of it as 'emancipation of Dao', whereby it is Dao that gives humans the ability to re-connect; return. In my way of thinking, Dao is more like a beacon of light that one day shines through all the stuff we built up to block it... and we begin a natural return to that light. We begin to shed stuff; we emancipate ourselves from our own doing by the power of Dao. That all being said, I'm not sure I really like phrases 'emancipation' or being 'freed from' but I think that is the picture these translators are suggesting.
  25. Mair 3:5

Man of Men: At least Mair is similar with "Yes. At first, I used to think of him as a man, but now I no longer do" My take is that this 'friend' viewed Lao Dan first and foremost as a [great] man; a man of men... but came to see something much deeper... the effect he had on people. Like being in a spiritual person's presence, you might find yourself suddenly crying (sorrow or joy) without explanation... In this case, his death triggered it in people. Loosening: Mair calls this emancipation, as does Lin Yutang; Burton calls this 'being freed'. To me, loosening fits in with what is unfolding: people are having emotions released (in a more energetic sense, one might say that obstructions of human indulgence and desires are unraveling)... thus, the ties that bind us [in attachment and desires] are loosened.
