I work with data and one reason why I dislike any arguments from data. You used data to suggest there is no need to use data. I'll give you, that was clever

First off... I did a 'thank you' as he took the time to explain something instead of just posting a link. Now, I'm not worried about any effect of machines taking over. Someone has to build them and if if it is anything like the movies, we'll be doing less work and thus have more leisure time Ok, no joking matter about this. but again, the Way of the ten thousand will be ever evolving. I'm not going to argue economic theories for this reason. But man is the maker of his destiny and that includes his destruction. So be it, in my book. I think there is some concern over the concept of the "few who create, maintain, and control them" but that is likely outside of my lifetime and control. If it comes to that, hopefully someone writes a history that shows mankind lives and dies by a sword of his own making and many foresaw it and they can quote TDB as well

The 'thank you' button doesn't convey enough at times...

Xiao Yao Pai & Xiantian Dao Yin Shu - [OFFICIAL THREAD]

But do you understand that there is no separation among the ten thousand... that includes high deity or evil spirit ? I know nothing of XYP and neither want to discredit it nor affirm it... It seems to have a Way of re-uniting the whole. I would be surprised that anyone doing a similar practice would criticize this... just my thoughts- 242 replies

How to unblock stuck energy channels in the chest and throat area?
dawei replied to Audiohealing's topic in General Discussion
You jumped from Lin to Chia and then "all the possible problems one could run into while doing it"... Do you see the problem here, and you've not share why you are even doing the MCO nor how... can you explain it and where you then also made mistakes? I did the MCO from a book at first and some other writings and have never had an issue but I continue to see folks post about problems. Sometimes it is not the practice but the destiny. You should consider whether this is something you should not be doing at all. There are some here that could likely unblock your throat, remotely, but would you just go back to the practice that caused it? I think it would be better to outline the practice, technique, steps, etc... and then some could comment on certain steps of it. -
What's the point? Who is building the robots, sensors, electronics and maintenance? At least offer come commentary

Hi Karl, I don't want to read back through many threads and posts to understand your position but I realize others have and do... i read criticism of your capitalism position or singular stance on it. In light of the above quote, I would like to hear more. 1. Democracy was always going to be circumvented, it was only the method that was in doubt. 2. It is mob rule and this will invariably favour the lesser over the greater. The meritocratic success graph always has fewer at the extremes and therefore the mediocre and poor are always the majority. 3. Once the Government realises it can bribe the electorate with its own money it will increasingly penalise the successful whilst pouring out the wealth onto those who least deserve it. R1: Are you talking a specific democracy implementation or any? R2: Sounds like a bell curve... of course the middle has more. Just not sure of your point. R3: Bribe as a metaphor, yes? make promises, etc... Where in the world is this actually going on: Increasingly penalise the successful whilst pouring out the wealth onto those who least deserve it?

I'm not going to argue your wrong as I know this can work... for some... maybe like for me and you as I've had a similar path and saw the same issues at some point. The problem is that it is not the normative experience and may likely never be and I have two thoughts on it now: 1. The 'skills-work cycle' gets moved along by various influences and interests but it tends to affect most everyone in its wake. Sure someone can even find cheaper tuition by staying in state or now at this point even going abroad but the high stakes of tuition costs are not deterring folks from going to expensive universities nor the universities from trying to attract professors at higher incomes. And for some companies, that paper may be the reason they allowed the interview. Sometimes I wonder what really separates these universities as it is not the textbook nor the professor, IMO... likely it is simply the demands they put on the student. I Once heard a saying that Harvard is near impossible to get in but not as difficult to finish; MIT is not as hard to get in but very difficult to finish. Now, I'm not against variation in schools, costs, etc. There is variation in everything. I do sometimes question what is truly making these variations appear to have more or less value in real terms. 2. Most of the people affected by this are entering college out of high school, so no, no one explained this to them. They didn't get the memo because their parents tend to steer their understanding and decisions about college. They jumping into the rat race and influencing the cycle. I think in the past, a majority tended to look local (stay within their state) but as this cycle has picked up speed over the decades, many want to not 'miss out' on a certain college (and that paper). I think what you share is more applicable to later life folks who have experience, confidence and an understanding that not all requirements are what they say they are. But for these types of folks, going back to university just doesn't make that much sense as I think you would agree: their life-experience in many ways is actually better than any piece of paper (for most jobs). But this group doesn't really like to change and it normally takes some life-changes to push them in a new direction rather than being motivated to improve their lot. FWIW, I also don't like the term 'slave labor' and as you say about crap jobs... But I get the use of the word. This is part of variation and it will exist. But I think there is a dynamic among people that also helps to define the problem and for the US I think it is complacency. If we compare China where there is a major group of migrant workers, this seems driven by more desperation, while in India (just as populous) it seems more driven by opportunity. Maybe our [uS] population and short history just doesn't reveal either of those yet but when it does, I think the idea of 'choice' will suddenly have a much deeper root. I'm not going to argue your wrong as I know this can work... for some... maybe like for me and you as I've had a similar path and saw the same issues at some point. That's an interesting way of putting a 'rule of Qi flow' but I've always like the idea (I think by Dr. Yang) that Qi flows from higher to lower areas of pressure. For example, if you raise you arms for a minute and then lower them, the Qi flows due to the pressure differential that was created but one could say that Qi was filling the space created in the movement. Wonder if Damo has elsewhere explained his Qi flow idea using different words or theory ?

I really appreciate your comments as I feel I understand your point but I'd like to discuss it further. I'm not into equality, so we can drop that argument.. So the sexes act to balance each other, in some kind of natural state? As they see free to choose ? You said: Men necessarily have different values from women. For a woman it is to sexy and feminine and to be regarded in that sense so she can be free to express it and the best way she can do so is with a man she values as her equal. In what cultural understanding?

While I'm for anyone being elected and thought on Obama at that time, 'why not give him a chance' (I'll not comment on lost chances)... and I'd like to see a Lady President at some point... Hillary is political rhetoric that one sides hugs as comfort food and another is repulsed by. It is simply sad that we're reduced to choosing between dumb and dumber on some level.

I think LZ aptly said: Therefore, always desireless, you see the mystery Every desiring, you see the manifestation Our base destiny/source provides us to not only see one side but both/and

It is not so much negation as it is just allowing everything to arise and go without attachment to their coming and going. I can admire a well groomed garden as much as a weed filled one. In fact, the well tended one makes me think of the gardener while the non-tended one makes me think of the garden.. They are just two Ways of tending and non-tending. If you view one as 'beautiful' then the other becomes 'ugly'.

I tend to agree with this in the sense that one can be 'full of crap' but can let go even temporarily of stuff to be more of an open conduit. As you said, let go of the me-sense

I think the sides being drawn in this debate are actually both sharing some correct views because like any issue it can be viewed from various angles. I would agree that the reasons, opportunities and likely pressures are varied. Why did India emerge as the worlds 'tech support' ? When I go to DC to work with the data analysts and programmers there, it has a number of Indian works and the women outnumber the men. Here, while in china, I'm reminded of how it is not uncommon to see women as a taxi driver, working at a gas pump, cleaning the streets, pulling full carts around at 5am; easy to heavy labor doesn't seem to have to much of a distinction in some areas. I think you want to label some of the observations and causes and thus we end up with a topic on gender gap and influences that include the culture... one could say the culture of the mind as well as I think that is closer to what Karl suggests. For some, it can just be opportunity cost but that usually comes with a setting where choice is readily available. Remove choice and I think a lot changes. For some, that removal may be due to population or competition issues but we can see it in India and China in some cases. Some will jump at the opportunity to get ahead and others will grasp the chance to do anything beyond what they previous were doing. These may be beyond cultural to just socio-economic pressures for survival that we don't quite experience say here in the US where laziness is rewarded on some level (ie: poverty programs). I think from a historical perspective, this is the classic point... but if you dig down deep, why is this the case?

IMO, TCM is part of the journey of a living path... discovered over millennia, many are called but few are chosen, in a sense. If you're not born into it, then adopting or absorbing it is challenging... if it comes slightly more easy or natural then your path is tracing. If it feels like study and indoctrination, you can still pursue it but it comes with road hazards. My path took me through TCM and I was quite gun-ho to get into acupuncture and meridian theory... was asked to do a single fill-in class at a local acupuncture school, on Taiji, but ended up teaching Qigong by request of the students in the moment. To make a long story short, my Medical Qigong master showed me that TCM is good up to a point but if one is able to sense Qi, then why do you need to know the point when you can feel the point; meaning, deviation is not always exactly at the theoretical point in question. This distinction is more about what leads your interest and path rather than what is right vs wrong. Follow your deepest desire and if it comes with academic instruction, so be it. China is still home to ancient traditions, just go there and with some help you'll find it. Ignore the comments of folks who talk about it from afar. I've meet more ancient wisdom in china than I can recount here or in a book. And most of it is with everyday folks but several about the ancient arts. Try a practice within Taiji or Qigong to get practical application of Qi in the body to understand TCM better... just a thought. Never give up your dream and desire but realize the road is sometimes less traveled and you should just follow your path.

Sean... from the beginning of time... TDB Chat has always been open to energy work. He sees no reason to restrict it now but has agreed with my suggestion to create restrictive days [till we integrate multiple chatrooms].

the bolded part... so non-attachment is to dis-engage with unpleasant feelings? Are engaged and dis-engaged so different... two sides of the same coin in a sense, seeking the same outcomes on some level.

but in the box below that...

Doesn't the offline message appear: "The chat system is currently offline. Please try again later." It is offline till the new entry message is finalized... today.

It used to be a 'like' button. We have suggestions for more buttons and will consider that if easy code integration exists. The admin level talked of up-vote and down-vote ideas but what we'd like would require custom code so that is in the suggestion box too.
