  1. Can qi be felt by anyone?

    Qi is a primordial source, so most of your questions are just a local[ized] understanding.
  2. It is setup here: http://www.thedaobums.com/forum/467-jim-d/ As stated in your other request here: http://www.thedaobums.com/topic/41251-getting-a-personal-practice-forum/?p=693488
  3. Observations on Invisibility for Self Defense

    ~~~ ADMIN WARNING ~~~ And please don't ask members to pay for the technique. I have already received one message concerning you doing so. Edited to clarify: It would of been better if it was made clear in the thread that you would be providing the technique for pay. Many years ago we had one bad case of a scammer selling something on here. So we're sensitive to this sort of thing. We just tend to frown on someone new coming here trying to sell something.
  4. Can qi be felt by anyone?
    The short answer is: YES There are a few ways you can feel Qi: 1. Within yourself 2. From another person 3. From another living entity 4. From the universe 5. From another spirit/being/etc While I do agree that there is a karmic influence, I think anyone can feel it now. I would try this: - get as comfortable as you can and release anything in your mind/body/spirit which binds you... just let go. - put one hand out; focus on the palm - on the other hand, use your index finger to point into the palm - make very,very, very slow circles with the index finger and focus on the transmission from the finger to the palm. - Your palm may feel various things but it should feel energy, pressure or heat. This is just a local aspect of Qi
  5. Intent vs Visualization
    This describes a local mind concept of visualization vs/with intent. Why don't you just test all your questions.
  6. Database error
    TDB sits on a dedicated server and is maintained by Sean. So there is nothing that even staff can do. What role does custom code play? What role is it hardware vs software or both? IPB re-wrote the entire forum code in version IPS4 but in the process they made extensive changes to how security (ie: Local mods) are setup and operate. We can't just jump ship to IPS4 as we might lose all our PPDs and beloved 'owners permissions' But we're already discussing the next steps which include setting up an IPS4 to test... and even other software platforms to migrate to.
  7. Getting a personal practice forum
    Well, your [new] PPD is on the Dao Bums site... if you click the link, it takes you to "Jim D." PPD...
  8. Getting a personal practice forum
    Jim... here it is http://www.thedaobums.com/forum/467-jim-d/
  9. I see... never used it
  10. how and where to see that? Not sure if that was a customization done before.
  11. I also switched to code mode and then used copy / paste to insert the quote header and footer around... pain though
  12. It seems silly but I can quote the same one twice to effect it the issue seems discussed all the way back to 2012... so not sure if our delayed upgrade simply unknowingly preserved a basic feature.
  13. Yes... seems oddly so... at least multi-quoting still works.
  14. The Admin Panel says it all... Version: IP.Board 3.4.9 Many thanks to the staff for testing and upgrade work. It may feel like there is nothing different as the UI is completely the same... same for the back-end. If you notice any issues, let us know here.
  15. UPDATE: TDB will get upgraded tomorrow morning around 9am EST (US). It should not be offline long but give it at least 30 minutes.
  16. Thanks guys As an update, the testing is going well and everything in the test environment is operating as expected. We'll likely have an update a little later to announce our next steps.
  17. Experiencing Dao
    If it can be experienced then it can be described In both cases, you are just operating in Manifest aspect. The bigger question may be whether the mystery can be experienced and described... and Yes to that too... because that is till yet a part of our understanding. I would generally say, the part that we cannot describe is the part we cannot experience... so does that mean experience and description must follow suit? In my experience... this is the wrong question How repeatable is the experience seems to be an issue. Descriptions can be similar but the experience can vary.
  18. I figure... If I can't get on the site then the staff can get on the site... and there is nothing to moderate... so a useful staff day off
  19. Getting a personal practice forum
    It is setup here http://www.thedaobums.com/forum/452-futuredaze/
  20. Wondering on the Way v. Zhuangzi
    Sorry for the neglect and delay... kickoff coming soon
  21. Database error
    We have reached out for an upgrade over and over. I think until that occurs and some improved security patching is in place, it is impossible for staff to do anything except continue to request a upgrade. I know that isn't comforting and sounds like a broken record but we are trying to convey this is critical for the community.
  22. I tend to agree and we use to close them fairly quickly if for no other reason that the person is not here to defend the comments... but when Sean last visited the Admin area, he expressed a desire to almost never lock any thread... particularly these so folks can comment. I came up with a few times which we felt justified a lock but I have since tried to almost never lock a thread, except temporarily as it is then re-opened. My feeling goes like this... if we suspend... say thelerner and I lock it... the nobody can comment... and if they really wanted to know what's up, they should start a thread like "What did thelerner do this time" . The main issue is that members can't start a thread in subfolder Moderation Logs... but that is easy to change. So this has been one of those items where I put aside my feeling (however strong) and try to follow something the owner has expressed. While we could moderate the moderator logs , it seems to really ask too much on staff. I guess I could stop anyone from being able to post in moderation logs and leave it unlocked for appearances
  23. Is it enough?
    Only your destiny defines 'enough'... in which case, it is only leading you on a path... and when is the path enough? Only the path can tell you... if you stop, that is your answer. If you keep going, that is your answer.
  24. Intent vs Visualization
    I agree in my experience with this too. As the topic has 'intentionally' moved to energy, I find an interesting comparison of these concepts in Qigong vs Light practices. In the former, combining the two (intention & visualization) could create a stronger connection or effect.... the same way if you instead combined intent and a mantra or a sound. But with Light practices, no visualization is really needed. In fact, I found, less is best. And what happened next was surprising... the visualization came 'back' at me. Meaning, instead of me transmitting it, I was receiving it. But I am certain that for this topic, visualization is meant as in transmission.
  25. What ? Huh ?
    I have seen this happen too... when it happens (I click reply but there is no box), I scroll up and click reply again and it drops it into the reply already open. Not sure if tied to old version of the software but there are requests to upgrade.
