You already stated this the day before... why are you repeating yourself instead of just answer simple questions. 1. Do you know Ken's website URL ? 2. So the 5 guys in that document, including MPG are just following book points and not anything really MP teaching from someone?
-
It seems you are slow to explaining the situation so we can understand your past practice but that's ok... and you have already done NAB for 2 years and seems you have done RAB also... If you are trying RAB already, just do it. Why are you asking? My only advice is whether you have the coordination of the perineum and diaphragm moving in sync. For RAB, you still want that coordination. As for Tummo... @thelerner has shared his experience.

Do you know Ken's new forum URL? You realize at least 5 people were in that document including MPG. I think it actually reads a good FAQ. Are you denying that those 5 were just using general information for practice and not the same as you? They have all been on here to claim the same practice as you but they talked a little more details.

Overreaction for sure... an Epsom salt bath and a glass of wine should help.

First thing I would do is observe your regular breathing pattern... does your breath seem to hang out in the chest (that is what is expanding on inhale) or it goes down to the stomach (that is what is expanding on inhale). You want you're regular breathing to get down to the stomach so on inhale it is expanding (in 3-D). Second, I'd start putting tongue against the upper palate, just above the teeth. 24x7. There is a third step to always focus on the LDT... It seems to me there are two outcomes from this: Focused awareness brings Qi to the area. You also tend to stop thinking about other life BS. But the catch is, you should not be aware of such 'focus', otherwise it just turns to a 'practice' which is not natural. So it is more like you are just 'there' in your LDT. When all this is naturally done, you could then begin to do abdominal breathing... which might start with just very long and slow inhales with equally long and slow exhales. There are techniques to closing the huiyin on exhale which encourages the energy to go somewhere else (like up the spine). This is now already getting ahead of the game but you maybe get the idea of the natural progression.

Do we have to remain aware of our True Nature all the time?
dawei replied to dwai's topic in Hindu Discussion
Yes... forgetting 'what' I will apologize as I didn't watch the video ... but did now... twice ! Here are the powerful words I heard: 1. You suffer from the notion you have slipped away from it. Even when you think you have slipped away from it,, ,you have not. 2. Experience and memory battle to create a reality where the former is an ever present experience and the latter an attempt at recognition (of something we feel is hidden). 3. There may be a period where we dwell on things but that is practice not enlightenment I find concepts of Zhuangzi of forgetting... if you want to find the memory, you lost the ever present experience. And Baopuzi who said practice is not natural... dwelling on things turns us to 'practice' and then we have also lost the ever present experience . Practice is an attempt to find that which we feel is lost, memory aspect. This may not align with your position and thinking as I am not from the same thinking this is presented from... but I really liked it. -

How do you see Zhuangzi's idea of Sitting and forgetting ? -
You need a lesson in Tao or Meow. maybe both. Off her game?? I found her brilliantly following her way. Whatever guilt you feel is your's to own... dont' try to pass it off onto another needing to feel it. Here's a lesson: Think Tao... then think Meow... do you really get any energetic difference ?

I recall a Full Editor option or at least a button in the editor to the far left so that one could view their post in code mode. This was one of the easiest ways to fix messed up quotes. Not sure if that was a staff only setting but seems useful to members if that is available.

Section 13: Concentration Eno Spirit-like, concentrate the qi, and the world of things is complete. Can you concentrate? Can you become one? Can you know the outcomes of events without divining? Can you halt? Can you stop? Can you grasp in it yourself and not seek it in others? Ponder it! Ponder it! Then ponder yet again! If you ponder and do not comprehend, the spirits will make it comprehensible. Yet it is not by the power of the spirits: it is the utmost of the essential qi. Linnell: 搏 氣 如 神 Because they consolidate Qi like spirits, 萬 物 備 存 The ten thousand creatures are prepared for existence. 能 搏 乎 Can you consolidate it? 能 一 乎 Can you unify it? 能 無 卜 筮 而 知 吉 凶 乎 Can you foretell bad fortune and good fortune, but without divining? 能 止 乎 Can you then stop? 能 己 乎 Can you? 能 勿 求 諸 人 How can you never seek it from anyone, 而 得 之 己 乎 Yet attain it yourself? 思 之 思 之 又 重 思 之 Contemplate it, contemplate it, and again repeatedly contemplate it. 思 之 而 不 通 Should you contemplate it yet not comprehend it, 鬼 神 將 通 之 Know that ghosts and spirits can comprehend it. 非 鬼 神 之 力 也 However, it is not comprehended by the power of ghosts and spirits – 精 氣 之 極 也 But by the utmost of essence's Qi! Roth: -- Section 19 -- 1. By concentrating you vital breath as if numinous, 2. The myriad things will all be contained within you. 3. Can you concentrate? Can you unite with them? 4. Can you not resort to divinig by tortoise or milfoil 5. Yet know bad and good fortune? 6. Can you stop? Can you cease? 7. Can you not seek it in others, 8. Yet attain it within yourself? 9. You think and think about it 10. And think still further about it. 11. You think, yet still cannot penetrate it. 12. While the ghostly and numinous will penetrate it, 13. It is not due to the power of the ghostly and numinous, 14. But to the utmost refinement of your essential vital breath. 15. When the four limbs are aligned 16. And the blood and vital breath are tranquil, 17. Unify your awareness, concentrate your mind, 18. Then your eyes and ears will not be overstimulated. 19. And even the far-off will seem close at hand. Shazi Daoren: Concentrating Qi -- Section 19 -- When you concentrate Qi like a spirit, all things will support your existence. Are you able to concentrate, able to be one with them? Are you able to be without divining or counting stalks, yet know bad and good fortune? Are you able to stop? Are you able to be yourself? Are you able to not demand from others, yet attain it within yourself? You think about it and think about it. And again, deeply think about it. You think about it, yet you can't fathom it. A Spiritual Being will fathom it, not due to the Spiritual Being's power, but due to the ultimate of Jing and Qi. When your four limbs are aligned, your blood and Qi are tranquil. When your mind is one and your heart concentrated, and your ears and eyes not distracted, even that which is most remote will be accessible. Yueya: -- Section 19 -- By concentrating your qi as if numinous, The ten thousand things will be contained in you. Can you concentrate? Can you unite with them? Can you not resort to divining by tortoise [shell] or milfoil [stalks] And yet recognize the auspicious and the inauspicious? Can you stop? Can you cease? Can you not seek it in others, And yet realize it within yourself? You think about it and think about it, And think still further about it. You think and yet you cannot connect with it. The ghostly and numinous can connect with it, This is not due to the power of the ghostly and numinous, But to the utmost capacity of vital essence and qi. When the four limbs become aligned, The blood and qi become tranquil. Unify your awareness and concentrate the heart-mind, Then the ears and eyes will not overflow with stimulation. And even the remote will seem close at hand. Reid: 235 摶氣如神, By consolidating {29} energy-breath (and becoming) spirit-like, {30} 236 萬物備存。 The myriad things perfect their existence. 237 能摶 乎?能一乎? Can you consolidate it? Can you unify it? {31} 238 能無卜筮 Can you, without divining by yarrow stalks, 239 而知吉凶乎? Know what is fortunate and what is perilous? 240 能止乎?能已乎? Can you stop (peril from arriving)? Can you make it cease? 241 能勿求諸人 Can you not seek this from others 242 而得之己乎? But attain it in yourself? 243 思之思之, If you think about it and think about it, 244 又重思之; And then go back and think about it some more, 245 思之而不通, Your thinking about it will not reach (comprehension). 246 鬼神將通之: Ghosts and spirits move forward and reach this (comprehension of altering fortune), 247 非鬼神之力也, Not because of the ghost’s and spirit’s efforts (in thinking about it), 248 精氣之極也。 (But because of) the extent of their vital essence and energy-breath. 249 四體 既正, When the four limbs are aligned, 250 血氣既靜, The blood and energy-breath are tranquil 251 一意摶心, When unifying intention and consolidating the heart, 252 耳目不淫, The ears and eyes do not indulge, 253 雖遠若近。 Yet what is far off is as though near. {29} Literally, “roll up into a ball” like dough or clay, often translated as “concentrate.” {30} Lines 235-253 can be further understood by studying the three chapters from Guigu Zi, provided in the introduction. {31} Similar to chapter 10 of the Dao De Jing, “Guarding the fortress of your bodily spirits, embrace Oneness. Can you do this without letting it flee? Gather together the energy-breath and become soft. This is the power of an infant.”

It is not there... so must be a staff viewing/use setting. But for those who can wade through tag codes, it is a nice option.

This talk of Ting and what systems teach and what we have each experienced makes me think back to when I did Medical Qigong Clinicals. The group was a rather diverse set of folks: Many were acupunturist but one was a Reiki master, another deeply into yoga, and I was the only one with a Qigong background. I might guess that this would surprise folks, it surprised me. But here is what I observed and experience: all of the practitioners had a sense of energy in a different way, like the five senses and then the sixth sense of each would also kick in. It taught me a great lesson that we should not try to confine what it means to feel, sense, listen, know, or experience energy. Each person is likely, like a destiny, draw to finding a system that fits their energy sensing. I will say, working with others who experienced energy differently than me made me really open further that another's system should be valued if it works for them. Some see colors; some see form; some feel the movement; some know there is something there. We would rotate people through five patients and then compare notes... In the end, we almost always agreed on sensing something specific. It was the dark energy (not sure a good word for it) that a few of us encountered... like one cancer patient was radiant in her outlook to overcome it while another was accepting doom. One patient was rather mild but caught me off-guard with something very defensive... well, it was attacking in response to my presence. As this was my second Medical Qigong training and it was very formal with step by step, I realized there is not a formal plan with this one. I went back to my previous system to deal with it. This is all so long ago and left behind but it was a great foundation that systems different and have value.

May I ask another unrelated Chinese translation question?
dawei replied to Owledge's topic in Daoist Textual Studies
Unless there is some local use, wu mao should be understood as Walker explained. In my 15 years of traveling to northeast China, I have never heard meijin... meiyuan seems normal. Upon asking, jin is gold character... and chinese children were taught the US made money by selling weapons for the war... So in Mao's time, it may of been used negatively, as westerners, well anyone non-chinese, seen as the ghost too. In any case, I'd stick with meiyuan. When my wife tells me of some money value that is not clear, I will ask, "RMB?" to confirm she means that currency. As Walker said, yi kuai is common... yi yuan too. -
On an airplane, I taught a person sitting next to me, and who was reading a book on energy... how to do the sword hands while we were flying. Then I had her hand replaced with my hand moving in a circle... then I had her just imagine a hand moving in a circle... She could still feel it. I had never done that before or since but in the moment, thought it was something to try.

This is way too much information that I'll pass along but one great practice by Mantak Chia https://www.mantakchia.com/inner-smile-and-healing-sounds/ I would just do the inner smile. It doesn't really matter if you sit, stand or lay down.... or just walking. Don't get hung up on indoctrination of practice. This is for the organs but you can do it for the chakras or dan tians too. Here is what I'd do: Start a ledger of your findings with doing an inner smile. As you feel something is wrong with the LDT, I'd start somewhere else to create a baseline. Where are you feeling most comfortable, chest? So just smile for a minute or two... get a picture of the sunset or something you find pleasing and neutral. Feel that area without trying to feel it; know it and sense it. The heart is most important so I would use that as the baseline if you can. And then bring it to the other areas when you smile at them. WHen you get to the LDT, what do you get? Whatever you first get in terms of disomfort, think of the baseline picture. Resude in the moment without attaching to the moment. Just be.

The difference between Chi Kung and Nei Kung
dawei replied to Encephalon's topic in General Discussion
The earliest forms show up on a variety of names but dance on neolitic pottery reveal a beginning in energy movement. -
I'm jolted awake at 2am with these lyrics streaming through my mind... I've heard this but have to google it to know what it is. Seems almost 40 year since I have last heard this... Started to read about the band... rivaled by only The Beatles... and Graham Nash would leave The Hollies and become a part of Crosby Stills Nash (& Young... Neal Young).

I was taught in Medical Qigong to use the two fingers for yang transmission and the pinky for yin transmission. I can only say that in practicing it, people have said there is a noticeable difference on the receiving end. I think the Qi ball is a great practice cuz you regulate breath with it... But there is room to explore various Qi ideas and the sword hands is a good experiment. I usually recommend moving the sword fingers in a very slow circle. What becomes interesting is that the focus of the eyes can have an intention without realizing you are giving intent. I think that is part of being soft too. Yes, the body and mind will translate the energy experience. For beginner, some concepts are hard to grasp and even harder to apply... but you made some good points in the thread I agree with.

Speak for yourself... use I .... there are those of us who completely understand and have experienced what JC talked of in regards to things most seem to attribute as magical and mystical. It is not an understanding as much an experience. Or we could say it also becomes a direct knowing. It is very natural but most folks would call it supernatural because they are caught up in their own boundary of practices. I would hope one day you can see and experience beyond the wall of practice.

Sorry... you've deceived yourself again... the two were two very ardent spokespersons of MP. Keep telling yourself lies so you can sleep at night. The truth can be a slippery slope. Wake up.

Maybe re-read about JC... his natural was traveling time and to beings/ spirits...

You either lie or are mentally short on understanding... You can pick. I allowed the two most coherent and respectful members of your group to remain... and I got along really good with them... maybe you will never know why because you're too busy repeating 10 years of excuses. Why not get out of the past and deal with today... Waiting on ability sharing. Discussion forum after all...
