As far as they are concerned... you sold your soul to the devil... read again You served yourself up on a silver platter... and very nicely done, I would like to add

We are born dwelling in emptiness... but does that mean we should seek to go back into the womb?

Your asking and looking from one way perspective... even if you want, will they come to you? So why not ask... what do they want in order to be summoned That is good introspection... but realize you just shut down the original idea... your intent said it is "currently not possible for me"... notice the 'me' ? You're keeping the focus on yourself alone. So you started a question about something which you have very strong mental blocks against? More good introspection In my own energy travels, I do find that one's multi-dimensional-view (ie: multi-world framework) is important but right now, your local mind feeding you information. Know this: Your subconscious has a different multi-dimensional-world view of entities, beings, spirits and deities... You just have not made that sync and connection, but you heard an echo... ergo, this thread

I got it too.. seems a message from the gods to take a break

I'll put it in different terms but I don't mean to speak for Spotless... this is just my take on what some *might* encounter/experience. As I see it, one of the main goals to achieving [more] clarity is that inner and outer are aligned, are of the same 'mind'. This is similarly spoken of in practices (ie: Taiji). The [local] conscious mind is not always in sync with the subconscious... and when something like this comes to the local mind and we are scared, put off, resisting, blocking, not accepting something... they are not in sync. Your surprise is likely your sign that they were not in completely in sync but not so far that you resisted it.

In the few books of his that I have read, it could be summed up as short-term healing and long-term immortality. The practices are meant to ultimately absorb the universal forces (energy) of heaven and earth, in order to nourish the body, spirit, soul, etc. On the physical level, this seeks to clear blockages and simply bring the body into union with everything (or the flip side is creating clarity). In energy sense, negative energy is transformed to positive energy.

Just to catch up on some of the more recent changes: The Tao Bums >> The Dao Bums http://thedaobums.com/ Newbie's may not know about this but this was a rather significant change in Forum naming by Sean (owner) Daoist Discussion / Systems and Teachers Of http://thedaobums.com/forum/413-systems-and-teachers-of/ This area was added a while back to collect together certain systems and teachers. So far, it rarely gets a new thread started but has threads moved to it... which is ok. I know that folks like to start stuff in General or Daoist and usually after a few weeks I will move some threads so they don't just disappear forever when they could be collected to an area. Another challenge is whether they go here or the Group Studies. Generally, if someone is asking about a system or teacher's background I put it in the former. If it is focused more on the media itself (DVD), it will usually go to the latter. I will say the two overlap a bit... so enjoy looking at both areas General Discussion / Healing Circle / Food, Supplement, and Herbs http://thedaobums.com/forum/438-food-supplements-and-herbs/ This is recently setup and has been an idea for some time. My main surprise was that I found 8 pages of threads to move here. As a sub-sub-forum, it is less visible... I trust those that like this area simply know how to peek in at new posts The Garden: Nuwa/Women's Sanctuary : Mount Kunlun - Grotto Garden : Fuxi/Men's Haven http://thedaobums.com/forum/428-the-garden/ This is clearly the most significant addition and I appreciate the input from everyone. I will have to confess to all my past resistance to setting up a male area because the forum is already 99.9% male... it is a male forum for the part. I tried a Women's Cultivation area but it was clear I never really was able to provide the super-secret-double-handshake-shoulder-rub-tender-gaze-posting-in-privacy... and in order to do that, I'd have to extend that to men so they could do their own double-hand-slap-elbow-bounce-chest-slam-alpha-roar-posting-in-privacy as well... The main goals of these steps have been to make TDB more safe and accessible for females to come and post... and have a private area to boot. I think we are finally there and have also provided men the same. My apologies for the delay in getting here Forum and Tech Support / Rules and Use http://thedaobums.com/forum/436-rules-and-use/ This is mostly a house cleaning step since the past consolidation of forum areas... the F&T Support had so many pinned threads it was awkward viewing on page 1... so I created a read-only area where we can put the main rules and use related topics of the forum software. The Pit >> Hùn Dùn - 混沌 - Primordial Chaos http://thedaobums.com/forum/40-h%C3%B9n-d%C3%B9n-%E6%B7%B7%E6%B2%8C-primordial-chaos/ The Pit was changed to Hun Dun, although there is a much more interesting idea to call it The realm of the Hungry Ghost (鬼界). Wéi Wú Wéi - 為無為 http://thedaobums.com/forum/421-w%C3%A9i-w%C3%BA-w%C3%A9i-%E7%82%BA%E7%84%A1%E7%82%BA/ This is clearly the most significant change to posting on TDB whereby a topic starter can have "Owner Permissions". One member commented that it was rolled out much faster than expected... and yet, it is almost never used yet It was effected in: Buddhist Discussion -- Buddhist Textual Studies The Garden - all areas Wei Wu Wei The Buddhist area was extended it because it is intolerable to moderate it. So the topic owner can do so... in theory. I am somewhat pleased to say that has not shown any use yet (knock on wood). The Garden was a logical extension of this due to the private areas... and nature of gender cultivation. Wei Wu Wei was an experimental child and probably continues as such. Members request the permissions here and can explore open Ownership topics here. --- Maybe there should be a poll to say which areas folks connect with and like... but my main hope is that you find this is a place you want to come back to and discover some new topics and friends.

Cuz you choose to take cod liver oil ... and simply wondered if it was intentional.

You can find this book on Amazon for 0.01... so it is worth the shipping Chi Kung: Health and Martial Arts This was the first book I came across and later read about 5-6 more of his books. I'm not in any way into martials arts so don't think that angle.

When all the layers of illusional separation falls off.. what remains... Sacredness? What do the deities call it... when they want to give it a name?
-
Fascinating... But what of the 'lost boys'... those in every civilization which just don't want to do anything. How are they steered? Is it family or school pressure or the system at large to 'become something' ?
-
CHAT http://thedaobums.com/chat/ SNAP !!! I forget the most recent change... If you go into CHAT... you can click on a name... and then start a private conversation with them... Nobody will see it

sacred... deserving veneration Food deserves veneration.... or better the actual animal or plant... or better biology deserves veneration... or better evolution deserves veneration... or better the celestial galaxies deserve veneration... or better cosmogony deserves veneration... or better the original immaterial spirits deserve veneration... or better [the unfolding engine of] Dao deserves veneration.... or better The collective ONE deserves veneration... As long as there is veneration, there is separation. JMO

Interesting... so why not another fish oil? Is there a specific reason you took that?
-
Realize that starting 30 threads will mean most of them just disappear... and if your the only one really interested in the topic then it is not really a 'discussion'. But if it was in your PPD... you can go back to it easily enough (cuz it is easy to find), update it, etc. We can move any threads you start to the PPD as well...
-
I would still say that belongs best in Mount Kunlun...
-
Just use the most appropriate of the three in The Garden. In most cases, the neutral Mount Kunlun will be a good place to start.
-
You should use your PPD... this is what a PPD is for.... to be a home for your area of your sundry thoughts, specialization and archive of your stuff... by default you are the mod there

I find it a bit clever to have used Dao... and what was the first manifestations? Spirits (?). Likely the immaterial came before the material and why it makes sense to see spiritual understanding to be more anciently than religion.

Should have a forum section for herbs, supplements, etc.
dawei replied to Songtsan's topic in Forum and Tech Support
Ok... I created a sub-forum under Healing Circle called, "Food Supplements and Herbs". Surprised to have moved 8 pages worth @RV: There are plenty of Tea threads in there now -
I had to go back and figure out how 'religion' came into this thread... I sometimes wonder if this focus is too modern and we end up in revisionist mode of the past. My observation is that most ancient cultures looked to the working of the celestial movements and were 'organized' only in this regard and seeking to understand the 'source' of it [all]. I think later, as religious ideas/ideals formed, we now call all this a tendency for religion. But if we are to appreciate the earliest daoist ideas, even putting aside labels like 'classical daoism', it still seems inescapable to me that something quite spiritual existed before religious affection. I think that is a little better... but I'm not that fond of 'sacred' either. Maybe jump into LZ29 and share your interpretation... http://thedaobums.com/topic/17825-ttc-study-chapter-29-of-the-tao-teh-ching/?p=252652
