  1. FIFA World Cup 2014

Interesting comparison between two lefties Messi is a softer player who will sneak into play... thus, IMO, he is more tactically savvy; Robben plays more dominant and determined ('give me the ball and get out of my way'). Both have great skills used to their advantage. Depends on the system as to where one would use them and which would benefit the system better. I like Messi myself too.
  2. FIFA World Cup 2014

Well... I did coach many years... and still longingly look back to Clockwork Orange... The foundation is still machine and magic; that is deep seeded backbone to their styles... and in the end is what shows up as a strong basis for their winning. Emotion or not, the german's execute with precision. Nobody does it better at times.
  3. FIFA World Cup 2014

The Germany - Brazil semi-final is probably the final... I will predict that the winner of that wins the cup... This is Machine vs Magic... and the winner will play the Netherlands... who are historically the best team to not win...
  4. "Entrance" Noooooo!

We could call it "Ghost-rider"... as a fair number of new members post a few times just to keep an account but then disappear and lurk for years... You want some member stats? 50% = posts of 5 or less 63% = posts of 10 or less
  5. "Entrance" Noooooo!

How about, The Red Carpet... I think Welcome or Introductions work too.
  6. Curious of others feel this way...
  7. Random thought about Dao that can not be spoken

It is kind of a circular problem... by using the word "Dao" you have used language to articulate something... by definition, you can grasp and express that which is within the language barrier... You cannot grasp and express that which is outside of language... but then, there is no word for it... that is why MANY texts said, "I Do not know what to call it..." But I like what Flowing Hands said here:
  8. Real Compassion

IMO.... this should be in General. Let me know if you want it moved as I think it is deserve of more attention.
  9. PPF behavior and rules

yea.. spotless ain't so spotless at times I am glad we can make light of something once we move beyond it.
  10. PPF behavior and rules

Not sure I understand the point... This is a poll about a specific problem encountered by Aetherous... who by the way has created the ultimate, unanimous poll...
  11. PPF behavior and rules

I wish I had seen that coming TheTaoBums
  12. PPF behavior and rules

I remember when I was in the military... they joked that everything had an acronym... The proper way is: PPD = Personal Practice Discussion But the Bums way is: PPF = Personal Practice Forum When you're at the top entry level of TTB, the forum area called "Back Room" , then the second section.
  13. False accusations

This is an apology from the staff to BKA for this issue. As MGP is banned and Dorian is suspended, there has never been any concern nor discussion among the current staff over their access to TTB. In the midst of our trying to get control over the sock puppets and their continued attempts to get in, and the new review process I have put in place… I think the past approach to sock puppet handling may have been misinterpreted as something was wrong in giving access. But I often say that a present change is not necessarily a judgment about the past method. BKA has been a valued member and her contributions as a staff position are unequaled. I personally want to thank BKA for bringing me up to speed on aspects of the forum and software. And there is a Bagua sub-forum which needs some attention
  14. False accusations

I see... you mean just leave an empty forum in place? I don't mind putting back an empty folder... Done.
  15. False accusations

I know that Thelerner was the target of much of the Mo Pai insults and badgering with curses... I don't think anyone thought that was appropriate... and there was a time of healing going on... but then clearly something came up again when he asked to take a break from moderation as he must of felt he wanted to talk more openly without his moderation hat on. I do ask the staff to bite their tongue and think before they post something which they are taking personally when it is something that comes with the job title. Mods have to put up with a lot of BS... sometimes it just gets to be too much. I don't know what feelings were beyond the Mo Pai crap. Sometimes people just say stuff which needs to come out but it may not be correct.... I am not saying it is correct to get it out but somethings happen. I suspect Thelerner will need more time to get over some things. I've made a decision that he should stay as a regular member and get back to the enjoyment that the forum can provide people.
  16. False accusations

I removed her PPF... in fact, a member can actually do that themselves; they have the permission to delete all of their PPF area.
  17. False accusations

    Done at your request.
  18. Random thought about Dao that can not be spoken

It all depends on the comma.... which is a later introduction and not in the original... and let's not forget the original was not Chang, but Heng: Other possibilities: 道, 可道, ιžζ’ι“ 道可, ι“ιž, 恒道
  19. Mod for a Month

Actually... that is his first duty Then when he goes back to Lobby Steward, he has a much bigger picture of the new member process
  20. Mod for a Month

    {says while he sees the line moving forward... ducking and trying to figure out how to get further back in the line}
  21. Without some mind/heart/energy/spirit development, how can one discern spiritual paths? Most will rely on their physical senses and rational mind to pursue or understand the spiritual way but in fact they never have the foundation. The practice and cultivate is just the attempt to get somewhere; it means something is missing. What is missing is the foundation. Without the foundation, the path is just 'practice'... not a spiritual practice. The mistake most people make is they think they will arrive at the spiritual discernment; that is the end goal... after all, alchemy suggests: Jing > Qi > Shen (spirit) Here is one of the main reasons Mo Pai (or any lineage or spiritual way) is closed off to the west: THE FOUNDATION IS MISSING... and what is the foundation? The Spirit. The west gets closed off from these systems because they have no worldview, no practice approach, no belief, no acceptance of the Spiritual aspect. In some lineages, teachings, one cannot properly start a spiritual path without the spirit. This is why most westerners fail... and are refused entry. So any Mo Pai adherent: List off the spirits you have your faith and belief in and whom you reflect on daily (even multiple times a day)? I can bet money that every Indonesian student can answer this quickly... They start from here; they don't get to there. I have had this Way from even before the start of my journey. I just didn't know their names. Now that I know their names, I am able to reflect on them many times a day. This reflection is part of the practice... but in fact it is simply the natural connection to start with.
  22. ~~~ ADMIN UPDATE ~~~ Massive split and pit... maybe a record number of posts split Go there to argue. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  23. Wearing Hats and Qigong

when the hat fits, the ego is forgotten. As an aside, it is interesting to note the shaman headdress and the Sheng headdress worn by Xi Wang Mu... wearing 'hats' seem to have been around for a long time.
