The "Official" Mo Pai & "Things You Might Not Know About Real Mo Pai" Thread
dawei replied to SonOfTheGods's topic in General Discussion
It seems to me he is throwing it together for discussion... but you only want to state not to get into such discussions... then I am not sure what your discussing. Let's stick to discussing the topic. -
A related thread; someone interested in measuring Qi. http://thetaobums.com/topic/33714-what-would-you-ask-a-master/

This is an important topic... I had too many thoughts at the same time arising... so I'll just post a few thoughts and maybe drill down in later posts: I agree with where you are coming from: "Energy" is a mult-verse of cultural terms, explanations, and practices... All lead to one universal energy. Speaking of multi... if you view existence as concentric 3-D circles... it may be inner to outer as: Potential Energy/Pregnant Void > Matter/Energy > Manifestation > Heaven/Earth/Man > TTB Mental development? For what purpose? this may be misleading you in your quest and query. Let's go on... The above has too many interesting points you make... and your not the first person to over-think the experience Nervous system, energy centers, chakras... yes, yes, yes... Here is my short comment: You are becoming increasingly aware of your inner sense of energy. Open your awareness to: - energy IS every one of the 3-D circles; it is all energy. - you communicate with life using energy. - energy can be sent, received, exchanged, felt, experienced, seen. - the mind is a good guide to a certain point but you must depend on the lower dan tian to understand it all... and as that develops, the middle dan tian and upper dan tian will reveal their energy and intention for your life. Here is my recommendation: - Sink into it. Drop your mind into the lower dan tian... let it disappear and find what appears. - View the multi-verse energy field you are a part of: you are, second by second, exchanging energy with the outside world. In fact, the outside energy is sustaining you. If you think internal energy is your life, then you are simply lost on your path... which I can tell you are not. Why? You are smart enough to know that your every breath is EXTERNALLY DEPENDENT...

Others have reported this in the past. It is possibly software related. Maybe a future update has a fix. -

I coached for about 20 years... love the sport... I agree about Japan but it was a typical dynamic that after what appears to be the weaker team scores the other team responds with 2 goals. But I thought Japan did better than I expected in the first half... but it is the second half which really defines teams.

Fixed. Zenyogi is setup as moderator of his PPF.

Who was Guan Yin? D. C. Lau defined Laozi as an anthology of the teachings of the Many Masters such as Guan Yin, Liezi, Shen Dao, and Gu Jiegang... Livia Kohn in Doaist Mystical Philosophy said, "the assocation of Laozi with Yin Xi, The guardian of the pass... Yin Xi first appears in zhuangzi, once in discussion with Liezi and once with Laozi. Named Guan Yin, a title interpreted as "Pass Guardian Yin", he is represented as a Daoist Philosopher --One who explains the mysteries of Dao to his fellow seekers. ... Rather unknown and secondary as ancient philosopher, Yin Xi plays a central role in the Daoist Religion as the first recipient of the Daode jing. Ames wrote in Wandering at ease in the Zhuangzi: Liezi asked Guan Yin how one attains such extradinary feats. Guan Yin replies, it is "not any kind of knowledge, skill, resolution, or daring", rather it has to do with "hold fast to pure Qi". ... One must attain the perspective of Heaven... Ellen Chen, In Praise of Nothing: "In the Zhuangzi, Guan Yin and Lao Dan are said to be "self-emptying, always generous and inclusive of all, and were never cruel to others". The Lushichuqiu attributes the teaching of emptiness from Guan Yin, a disciple of Lao zi.

It always needs a parenthetical for fuller understanding; no [intentional] action. There should be a spontaneity as is nature's way... harmful is not the issue as nature is harmful. Adding in 'harmful' is subjective... depends on the subject and object too much. It is action which is in accord with the flow of the moment. Meditation gets us into that flow of the moment by becoming one with it. Once we can get rid of the distractions and advisors in our ear and mind telling us what to do... and we can think from our gut, the true energy source, lower dan tian, the red child (mentioned first by Laozi and a major part of The Central Scriptures of Laozi), then we are in accord with the flow of the momement. That's why Laozi spoke to these ideas. -

you might like this book... many interesting chapters particularly CH. 2 by Roth RELIGIOUS AND PHILOSOPHICAL ASPECTS OF THE LAOZI (1) Mark Csikszentmihalyi's "Mysticism and Apophatic Discourse in the Laozi," (2) Harold D. Roth's "The Laozi in the Context of Early Daoist Mystical Praxis," (3) Zhang Longxi's "Qian Zhongshu on Philosophical and Mystical Paradoxes," (4) Isabelle Robinet's "The Diverse Interpretations of the Laozi," (5) Robert G. Van Norden's "Method in the Madness of the Laozi," (8) Liu Xiaogan's "An Inquiry into the Core Value of Laozi's Philosophy," (9) Philip J. Ivanhoe's "The Concept of de ('Virtue') in the Laozi." http://www.amazon.com/Religious-Philosohical-Aspects-Chinese-Philosophy/dp/0791441121 I bought this a good while back for chapter 9 but was a bit disappointed... but the other chapters have proven they also have some good stuff. Overall, worth a read. -
And at the bottom where you attach the file, did you try the advanced option? So both ways don't work? And did you try another computer? (only for troubleshoot purposes)

He has one for this life... and one for the next -
I am not sure how to break it down but understanding the actions/reactions of life is not just an observatory thing... we don't just react to it, we anticipate it. We know it. When members talk of hate or kill themes.... I get it... they are transitory.... they see something... and that is real for them. So there is an intermediate stage of life where we experience what is going on. But it is not true understanding. True understanding is when we understand any comment.... as to its meaning and purpose...

I think this is a great topic... but I think spiritual types have an easier time understanding society... it doesn't mean they agree with what is happening with the world at large but they do understand it. When there is a gap in understanding, then I think it just means a transition period... If you are truly one with all things then you understand all things way. JMO.

Not really... I was doing a lot of Medical Qigong training too and their overlay was good but sometimes I didn't flip the switch at the right time. He didn't really talk that much... even his response was but a smile. If he looked at you with hallow eyes, that meant you were lost in your direction; and his smile was like a glow of sun. It depends on each person. But of course in general it is hard to have your mind occupying too many thoughts. There is a need to really let go of all of it as even the energy is compromised. But as I had some Medical Qigong, my mental visualization and intention and energy are easily focused... and was able to let the energy be one with the movement.

I apologize for that... When I was a Mod, I was accustomed to the fact that only the Tech (we have only 1) did this setup... So we have to wait on Tech to show up. Now that I am admin, you bumped me awake that NOW I can also do it too... It is setup.
