  1. Mo Pai Discussion and Vote

    BKA: IS there some sort of popup notification banner? Or like that ADMIN NOTES which displays?
  2. Mo Pai Discussion and Vote

    I had that feeling yesterday... but I wanted to keep this out of public view and I wanted it to be where it was always at the top of a thread. If I put it on General it will eventually float downward. Even if I pin it, who knows its Pinned. But here, you always see it as the first thread of this new forum once logged in. I also announced it a few times but I know they get lost.
  3. Mo Pai Discussion and Vote

    I stated that at the start but it may not of been clear enough. This vote was simply to let members voice their opinion concerning Mo Pai as a sub-forum, not as censorship. We will not censor any teaching/lineage. I personally have no strong side to take on this issue. That makes doing the vote thing easy on some level. I am not affected by the comments or outcome. There is no real big thing to resolve if the majority does not think it is good or the right time. This may be the wrong thread to start a manifesto on failed efforts... This vote is more democratic than dictatorial... I am sure I'll give an excuse at another time when I decide something that someone does not like. Founding principles of a plains culture eventually evolve to city-state size and then a country, etc... This growth has been the source of lots of discussion over the years in the back room. So be assured that the found fathers has seen this growth and realize it ain't what it started out as. I helped at a smaller board for several years. There are obvious differences among boards (topics, size, members, etc) but the size issue alone accounts and produces lots of considerations. And a founding principle here was that all practices/arts/lineage have a voice; there is no favoritism or censorship of a particular practice... this carries an inherent willingness to grow. With growth, In my vision, we need to keep considering the structure and organization of the forums... ergo, new sub-forums are under consideration.
  4. Mo Pai Discussion and Vote

    It has shown characteristics of tide water.... a wave formed at first, but then receded... and the votes reversed and low tide appeared
  5. Mo Pai Discussion and Vote

    Yea... and I just had to create a negative question... where Yes means No... <wandering off to the tiki bar>
  6. Mo Pai Discussion and Vote

    Ah!!! Your the vote discrepancy (No=14; N/A for No=13) This is what pointed out my question glitch... I should of just stayed with YES vs NO on the second one too! Next time, I've got to listen to BKA
  7. Mo Pai Discussion and Vote

    mopai, kunlun, bagua... <ducks and runs>
  8. Mo Pai Discussion and Vote

    Ok... so let's start the thread/vote over BTW: I realized my question has a glitch and was going to joke about starting over... but eventually someone is going to take care of it anyways
  9. Mo Pai Discussion and Vote

    Interesting that you mention this... we just implemented restricted daily posting to new members so they cannot fly around like a bluebird and dirty up the place.
  10. Mo Pai Discussion and Vote

    BKA had pointed out before that most Mo Pai folks who show up here are due to searching... That may now be second to sock puppets and banned members trying to slip in, but let that aside. It is a traffic issue but why should traffic be a problem? That is the whole point of a forum; it exists for anyone who might want to join. On the other hand, probably 90% of our troubles are Mo Pai (and a majority of the rest in the Buddhist subforum)... well, we have a subforum where we do contain a known thorny member/discussion issue (Buddhism)... Mo Pai doesn't have the containment. Based on the comments, it is clear that most people understand the problem and conflict that we don't want to stop a particular voice but we don't want to allow it to become a riot. As an equal energy/art opportunity board, we respect all practices... but we all do see that Mo Pai attracts a certain kind of unrest at the board. It is good to read the comments, the passion against it and the compassion to figure out how to let it exist.
  11. Mo Pai Discussion and Vote

    This is a great point... Are you a type A, first born who loves to play with data ? We're may prevent new registrations from voting. This poll will not stay open longer than a week.
  12. Mo Pai Discussion and Vote

    So your giving a public notice of your vote... Rarely will someone be so honest True... BKA is playing her magic And there you go And the fans voice their... uh... odd... opinions
  13. External alchemy writings

    PDF Version: http://www.hermetics.org/pdf/alchemy/The_Great_Art.pdf
  14. Martial Arts Section?

    Interesting idea. Come up with something to talk in the Steward forum. Feel free to talk with others to help organize the idea. There is past interest in such areas martial arts, alchemy, Mo Pai, Ba Gua... if the door opened, there may be more but this already feels rather big. The current Taoist section is too full of subs to add more. If there was a reasonable New Forum level which is a natural link to subs to cover mind/body/energy/spirit stuff... then we can talk about it first.
  15. First Link: Discourse. This should probably go to Taoist Textual Studies... (until an Alchemy sub occurs ) Second Link: Interview In the very first post, it says this is an Interview to answer questions... so to complete Interviews it should go. The problem with moving either one to Taoist it is so dated that... it will go from page 200 of General to page 500 of Taoist. As this was Zanshin's find... will you move that? (Stewards have post moving abilities).
  16. Mo Pai Discussion, anyone?

    Yes... I don't disagree with the points you make. This is the usual complaint. I like to hear it explained. Who knows what draws them to this. Thanks. I think that is an allure of magical power but I think those who invest their time to it would say it takes so much time, steps, and dedicated practice. I would not down play the time needed (not that your doing that), but as respect to the Mo Pai system.
  17. Mo Pai Discussion, anyone?

    We'll need help... and I suspect the same as you... but here we are
  18. Mo Pai Discussion, anyone?

    Moving threads is up to the volunteers here (admin/tech/mod/Steward)... I don't expect that... someone may want to volunteer to do it.
  19. Mo Pai Discussion, anyone?

    Honestly, this is a valid question... but we only need to ask... about your system: "Why you care about your system?" So we are left with the fact, as BKA has pointed out, that most search engine results of Mo Pai lead to ..... Rome (TTB).... We are thinking to put it in a non-public area so NOT SEARCHES.... as a trial. BUT WE NEED TO HEAR THE MEMBER'S OPINION...
  20. Mo Pai Discussion, anyone?

    Yes... this is the tricky part... TTB is about inclusion... whatever energy art you follow... but don't claim the non-followers are damned. There should be room for discussion/debate/disagreement. NEXT WEEKEND: WE WILL LET MEMBERS INTO A NON-PUBLIC AREA TO DISCUSS THIS.
  21. Dantein

    ~~~ Admin action ~~~ Just cleaned up the thread... but some will not stop... Already warned... and Spam yet again... repeating Ad nauseam without participating. Vacation: 2 weeks. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  22. Mo Pai Discussion, anyone?
    I can't help but smile at your extreme seriousness... I want the members to say it straight.... that was a serious sword swipe... Dotanuki swords quickly gained great popularity among the warrior class due to their superior cutting ability. The Dotanuki smiths cared little for aesthetics, but instead focused on strength, sharpness, and durability in the field. They were renowned for producing blades which would endure the harshest conditions, the most difficult battle field situations and survive to return to battle day after day, year after year.
  23. Hello my brothers, my name is Paul
    Thanks. Glad you stopped by from your busy schedule in Nicaragua. I agree that frustration has directed posts there. But I stand by the idea that it is NOT BIAS against Mo Pai but against behavior. How can I prove it? At the other site, it is BEHAVIOR which we now see... to speak in vicious hate messages directed at TTB members. The TTB bias variable is already removed... it is their site to hate as they want. I want to see how we can find a way at TTB to not appear to discriminate against any energy art or lineage... This site should be about inclusion... and I have started talks about this internally. If your done, should we close your account now?
  24. Mo Pai Discussion, anyone?
    I don't disagree... but when I look at the highest level, core ideas of this forum, I know we don't want to exclude certain energy arts and maybe it could of had a different sub-forum structure to contain some of it... and today, we might have a different outcome. I still get people don't know how to control themselves... but step one is to talk about the idea of a Mo Pai Discussion.... but with the members. I am willing to discuss this with the members here first.
  25. Mo Pai Discussion, anyone?
    I agree... and that is why we would welcome discussion on Mo Pai... if we could find a way to welcome all energy arts. Bluebird's IP was from India; he refused to answer questions as to his current location. PMark was upfront and quickly said Nicaragua... so they are learning how to play the game better. His IP is from Nicaragua. It is the games which need to stop. I already said yesterday to Bluebird: If they want so bad to come back, just talk... but all we get are games. Talking can produce more. Games will produce less. The problem is: People on both sides like to play games or get drawn to games. I want to find a better solution, if possible.
