Hun controls the dreams... they seem restless and looking for action at any cost. I almost never dream... Or at least I never remember them (as we are told we all dream every night). You need to explore why your dreams are this way... Liver/Hun. Your courage seems in the right place so there is some amount of self-actualization. Maybe try this, as a purging action: Slight cup your right hand. Then slap your liver/gall bladder area (or have another do it). And also move to the side of the ribs, and downward... all in a circular motion. how bad does it sting, or not? Wiggle the toes to give it a path out.
  2. Yin/Yang Healing Sounds?

In the old days, one could download from scribd at will... now you must pay for it... Let's just say I saw the day coming and I downloaded everything I could... but I must of missed this one !
  3. Neidan vs Qigong

So, instead of throwing barbs... why not just offer more to the thread? If you just belittle another, what is gained ? The ego gets a feather? You have lots of valuable input but when you degrade the post to attacks then it is really turning the wheel around on some level. Just give us more useful posts.
  4. Neidan vs Qigong

I think he said there is both... correct and incorrect. Correct for some practice to just do it... for that practice and some results may follow according to that practice. Incorrect if this was intended for Neigong Ming vs Xing as he relates.

ye of little faith... What is the Truth? What is the True Person capable of? Closing doors which are open?

I feel like my mom just asked me if I cleaned my room ! I wish I had time to really digest that book as it looks very good... I'll have to suffer with looking at whatever pages they provide in google books.
  7. Spirit->Organ Healing

Do you dream or how is your dream-state? (no... I won't turn Freudian on you!) And how would you characterize your courage ? (No... I won't compare you to the cowardly Lion!)
  8. The teaching of Quanzhen

What you wrote means: You like this when it happens... Or do you mean: You wish it would happen? Bear with me on this... I am in the mood to help here. I just want to understand your point and see if we can agree somewhere.
  9. Neidan vs Qigong

To tie in what H.E. is asking... I would think the point is that everything we do depletes all our Yuan energies (Yuan Jing, Yuan, Qi, Yuan Shen)... it is only through some methods we can hope to restore, transmute, and re-gain what is lost. As meditation is YIN: 1. Yuan JIng is therefore Yang... that is why it is depleted 2. Shen is Yin... therefore why it is not depleted Yes? What I still want to know is: If the meditation is involving internal movements, even if using Post-Heaven Qi... does it slow down the depletion? Although I can guess you'll say it does not 'restore'...
  10. Neidan vs Qigong

In terms of english, it sounds good... nice job. but there is no context or method explained for the purposes of the thread. So, what is the relationship to this thread? So you have the actual method to share? I can pull anything I want into here and translate it but it does not mean it is relevant to the thread. Maybe there should be a thread to practice translations??? In closing, the english is good... again, nice job.
  11. Neidan vs Qigong

I do understand the cynicism... but I think there is something to be learned here nonetheless.
  12. Neidan vs Qigong

Ok... yes... post Heaven Qi... I should of asked if that is Post Heaven Yang Qi ? And I could guess but I'll just ask: You feeling is that no amount of Post Heaven Yang Qi will ever break the barrier of getting to Pre-Heaven Yang Qi, yes? And so, the 'fusion of Yin and Yang' which is done as a method: Do you think that is fusion of Post-Heaven Qis? THis may be unfair as it is another method of another practice. Or your willing to accept that if it happens, then it must of accessed Pre-Heaven Qi somewhere along the lines (?) Ok... and I can agree with that. So I should ask, in your opinion, when is the LDT created? Is it only through the restoration of Yuan Jing process? Or there are other schools and methods which can create the LDT? P.S. Daoyin and Qigong... I get it... you slipped that in there as a hint
  13. The teaching of Quanzhen

That is exactly what was said... Please bear with a little english lesson: Definition: "Transliteration refers to the method of mapping from one system of writing to another based on phonetic similarity." Taomeow: <<< NOTE PINYIN Brian: <<< NOTE AGREEMENT. You have unknowingly agreed with them while arguing against them. It seems we all agree though, yes?
  14. Neidan vs Qigong

In your opinion: Are there any meditations which give rise to Yang? Or employ Yang? There are so many meditations and plenty which are internal movements; whether full body circulations, breathing through gates (crown, hands, feet), the variations on MCO, beating and turning the drum (LDT), filling the LDT from the crown (Yang) in preparation for breaking the cords and fusing with Yin, sensitivity training , etc...

  16. If you allow yourself to lose consciousness, does that mean you simply have a 'blackout' at some point? If it is so deep that you can't know it occurred, then how can you know it occurred other than you don't know what occurred but you think something occurred, which is nothing occurred? I have had that happen once. I often compare it to falling asleep as that split second before you fall asleep you are completely unaware of being awake or asleep. My guess is that we're in both states simultaneously as much as we ever can be. I can see both sides of this and their purpose would appear to differ. Interesting thread.
  17. The teaching of Quanzhen

That is not the point... that is readily understood by most... that is one side of the coin. The issue is the other side of the coin... Of course, we can create a translation of two characters using 100 english words and then we'll get the entire meaning across... but if one is translating in context (2 characters >> 2-4 words) then the word choice is very important in terms of meaning and context, not just what a dictionary says. It is fairly easy to see a translation done by non-English person as it often simply reads and sounds wrong/off/funny. TO the person who wrote it, it may seem fine... there is no way to make it any more clear to them unless they are actually interested in self-improvement in translation, grammar, and communicating between two languages about the meaning... but this was already stated by another...

  20. The teaching of Quanzhen

I don't recall if you mentioned a source text.. Is it his work: Cultivating Perfection Mysticism and Self-transformation in Early Quanzhen Daoism?

The problem is that your still wrong. Even if 100 people said it, I can accept that someone is simply not ready for 'Complete Reality' of the situation. Your try to make up an excuse for what you are trying to do instead of just listening and seeing where you are wrong. True Person... true to what? His faith, belief, church, family, job? He is truthful? The associated words are lacking and thus the meaning is meaning, in English. Real Person... Real, Reality, Realized, Realization... the associated words create a full picture of meaning. Maybe Realized Person is better but the point is that Real is the esoteric english word to use for the esoteric chinese word. > "they did not realize that they were translating an esoteric Taoist language into English rather than Chinese to English." There are always two sides to the coin: 1. Lack of understanding the source (meaning, esoteric, etc) 2. Lack of finding the correspondence in the target You keep claiming the former issue but neglect the obvious latter case. Keep both sides in view and see which one is lacking. They work on that side of the coin.
  22. The teaching of Quanzhen

Well, here are three examples... from this thread alone... it is a recurring theme in many of your posts in many thread... so I don't think you are actually being honest with yourself and everyone else: You consistently question the english translation done by scholars and people who have dedicated their lives to this. I agree with TM pointing out even some academic types don't get the deeper meaning at times but you question those who have lived it. And with such force as if they are so far off base. In the end, you were wrong, more than once trying to push you were right. You were wrong again... "IT" did not need clarification; YOU just didn't understand the english, despite you checked you liked his post; then questioned his post. Then your edit was wrong again. No amount of wrongs will make it right. But just accepting these wrongs would; and being honest about how you react in threads. Honestly, I hope my replies are seen as trying to help you see and know yourself better.
  23. The teaching of Quanzhen

This is exactly what I wanted to say... Meaning for meaning is an art. It means understanding the context of the originating side, and knowing if it translates as a concept/idea/meaning and how best to do that; and find a comparable fit when there is no 1:1 comparison to be made.
  24. The teaching of Quanzhen

Yes, I am well aware of their attempts to be a drinking hero... for many years I have played that game... and they usually fall flat on the face with me still sitting at the table... It's a bit of gamesmanship and silliness on some level. But that seems to float their hero boat.. or sink it... So in english, we don't play this except in maybe HS or College drinking games.
