IMO, that is only a mental challenge... how the arms happen to hang is not relevant to how the energy actually is traced out. One needs to rely more on the meridian clock and the entire cycle of flow to simply apply ascending and descending; it just means they follow in a direction.
-
Not sure I follow. The LU/LI is the pair; Yin Lung Qi ascends from the chest to the Thumb; At the 'Luo connection point', the Yang Large Intestines descends back towards the chest. You want the ascending to descending cycle to occur... So not sure I follow your point? RE: Luo-Connecting points of one meridian can communicate with two meridians.

I use the sound as 'Chree' for kidneys. I know 'Fu' exists too but can't remember why. What you have to realize is sounds are to purge stagnation so the sound, pitch, volume, etc are meant to get at different levels of the stagnation. If it is very severe, then 'Yu' is used for the kidneys. That might explain where 'Fu' comes in-between the two. The basic sounds are for basic maintenance and to be used by anyone. But remember that this is purging and as BKA says, don't do the kidney's too much as they are usually depleted in the first place... you need to balance purging with tonifying... think colors. Earth is for the Spleen... this is the sound for the Spleen. Put your awareness to the front (Yin) or back (Yang). Intention is everything.

I mentioned 'meridians'... the energy for the Yin organs is ascending... Here is one of the more useful diagrams to show the ascending vs descending aspect, as it is not easily shown in diagrams in a continuous manner. The energy flow is 'meridian to meridian' and that is why the Meridian Clock shows alternating 2 Yins and 2 Yangs; to traverse the entire body takes 2 meridians up and then down... There is a medical qigong balancing technique to stimulate this entire circuit by following the entire clock ascending to descending. http://medicalacupuncture.wordpress.com/2011/01/06/meridians-diagnosis-in-acupuncture/

The six sounds are for the six Yin organs... they are ASCENDING meridians... guess what happens after you ascend a merry-go-round... you got it... you fall.. into DESCENDING Yang organs... If you want a more Yin sounds, keep it to the front, cool, throat; if you want more Yang, keep it to the back, heat, throat...

ABIDE IN THE UNBORN Ah... nothing to seek. nothing to strive for... it is there before we are born and yet inborn... here and now. Thanks Deci.

But Yuan Shen to Yuan Qi is the prenatal transition, yes? I had to read this a few times... not sure why... but I agree once I got the 'transitions' for prenatal and postnatal straight... But as to the 14-16 years old... not sure why this particular time period. I can only come up with the 'root' chakra issues are 0-7 years and the Sacral (LDT) issues are 7-14 years, etc... so the Jing is developed into the reproductive area by this time (?). So it would seem to me that 12-14 should be the age but that might be pre-modernist times... maybe today it is shifting upwards...

Why is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit an 'unrepentable' sin ?

so I'll take your sardonic cue and leave the thread... enjoy discussing with others. -
Makes me think of Alexander Pope: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind All is mind... Mind is Light... includes the totality of reality without differentiation or discrimination.... Our mind trying to make sense of this as: It is all mind all in the mind all in your mind Forgetting "your" mind is all anyone need do.

I do have a soft spot for Paradise Lost... despite that Norman Douglas in his Old Calabria showed Milton appears to have built the story off an Italian original story And despite that Milton was blind by the time he wrote Paradise Lost, he most likely read these passages in the bible to embellish the Italian story: New American Standard: "How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations!" -- Isaiah 14:12 Cross: Revelation 9:1 The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss. Luke 10:18 He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Unforgiven angle: 2 Peter 2:4: "For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down" -
You wanted to know about TY book... At this other thread: http://thetaobums.com/topic/32406-building-the-foundation-and-inner-alchemy/page-9#entry495627 OpenDao replied: "I've already told that idea of "Xing before Ming" is wrong. " As was pointed out in the below thread about TY: http://thetaobums.com/topic/23496-some-questions-about-taoist-yoga-microcosmic-orbit/ This is why he advised to not continue with TY... TY promotes Xing before Ming...

Now I see where you are going with this... again, nice idea. Medical Qigong has done a lot of this representation... I have an e-book on Medical Qigong which is way too big to send in email; I would have to break it up into many chapters to even send it. I could try to send you a single chapter with some graphics to see if it is along the lines of what your looking for... -

Yes... I only meant I know these Wei Qi field associations and have used them. Nonetheless, I like the topic. Nice job. -

Usually a picture is worth a thousand words but what you provided is what you seemed to talk against... so I was hoping/expecting something 'more'... These are the typical pictures I see and know... Maybe I just didn't understand fully your point... but in this case, I like your words more than the pictures. I hope the thread continues or you can share more. -

part of the problem with the passages provided is there is no context given before those shown... The context is Jesus had cast out demons from a man but the pharisees wanted to claim it was done by the work of the devil. Jesus pointed out that "a house divided will not stand"... meaning: Evil will not cast out Evil... It was a nonsense argument by the pharisees. My take, having been away from these readings for many years, was that the blasphemy was to claim works of the demons or even perform works of the demons. In other words, to follow the 'morning star' in his fall to become Lucifer would not be forgiven... Lucifer could never be turned back from the darkside... nor his followers... -

I am surprised it has made it to page 4... I think most of our perceptions are based on our worldview alone. If one looks at why China instituted a one-child policy about 30 years ago, it is not simply about people being selfish but more like societal survival. I don't think we (particularly in the US) are there yet and so cannot really understand this issue from all sides. If we break it down to the microseconds one is 'alive' then we miss the aspect of the passing journey of energy in the whole of it. I might say from the perspective of energy, we are all simply selfish to make it about ourselves. Those that have the fate and destiny to pass along longer get to debate it. -
Is the Libertarian Party the closest thing to Anarchism the U.S. political system has?
dawei replied to Aaron's topic in The Rabbit Hole
I don't know the exact proposals but it doesn't have to be based on profit motive... it can simply be that parents pay (even partial) for school. In china, I think they pay 1/2 of the costs to the 'state'. It certainly keeps one more serious about something when they pay for it. BTW: I don't have a horse in this race -
It's one thing to start spamming your own topics... but you want to do it in other people's topic. Just stick to topic. If you are unclear what it is, then ask the OP.
-
You can stop anytime you realize. The topic is the difference between qigong and neigong... based on lineage, experience, etc... masters... It is like people watching a game and claiming they can explain the experience of playing the game. This is playing a game itself. If you want to write about the importance of scholars over experience, you should just start a thread on that.

Where is The Concept of Neidan(內丹) Came From...?
dawei replied to ChiDragon's topic in Daoist Discussion
There was a new rule implemented... .members overly repeating themselves can be considered spam... The point is, once is enough and no need to grandstand. -
This has nothing to do with scholars... they seek surface meaning, translate and are walking through the maze of alchemy meaning. The issue is understanding in an alchemy manner... not a linguistic manner. A dictionary can do that.

I hear what your saying but it is a little bit of a hard sell once their difference is understood. If we want to simply call anything which utilizes energy work as Qigong then mindfulness should maybe be included as well. Consider two recognized methods of energy work: 1. By means of 'practice': This is the doing aspect and is mostly for physical cultivation. This is Qigong 2. By means of 'dao': This is the non-doing aspect and is mostly for spiritual cultivation. This is neigong alchemy. I will say that some from #2 are used in #1 as a kind of hybrid, and Medical Qigong may be the best example. There is a distinct difference and purpose in each.
