  2. As much as I like to promote his books and have followed much of what he wrote ... at least years ago, there are times I'm not sure he is really telling anything different then he wrote 30 years ago. I don't see him as sharing a progressive system, and as a result, some of his books seem incomplete or not describing clearly enough a step by step of what to do. here is a key I found: Separation, distinction, and labels are always going to hold one back. We can read and practice all we want but practice should be the act of forgetting what you were told (or read) to do. Here is an example to illustrate my point: Consider ripples in water when a rock is dropped in. there is the appearance of separate ripples but they are the same, singular wave. But when we start to breath, even if we say focus on breath, you are in a ripple effect; realize the next ripple. Change focus on your breath to the air around you is your breath; then focus on the earth around the air; then the universe around the earth. Continue to remove every separation possible. You may think this is a lot of thinking but that misses the point. Each next ripple is to drop the separation the mind creates; you forget the previous ripple. If you cannot forget the previous ripple, then it is all just ripples in time...

Master Tung-kuo asked Chuang Tzu, "This thing called the Way-where does it exist?" Chuang Tzu said, "There's no place it doesn't exist." "Come," said Master Tung-kuo, "you must be more specific!" "It is in the ant." "As low a thing as that?" "It is in the panic grass." "But that's lower still!" "It is in the tiles and shards." "How can it be so low?" "It is in the piss and shit." - Tr. Burton
  4. DESTINY?

Destiny, as our mind defines it, does exist. Here is what I would share: Are you just talking about it or following (ie: embracing) the lead of it ?
  5. ~ ADMIN NOTICE ~ @ ZORK Please let the topic go it's Way. You've stated your point but it should not attempt to stop thread discussion.
  6. The Advantage of Evil

IMO, philosophy is a bad basis to talk about good and evil. That's just a mind construct. Once you are faced with it at an energy point of view, you realize something different. The duality way of explanation misses their unity.
  7. The Advantage of Evil

I get that point but not sure they had that connection. We know we can now.
  8. The Advantage of Evil

This is all true... but even Einstein said relativity is important Our modern consciousness seems higher than Neanderthals, yes? Our awareness is smaller than a deities, yes ? I do agree we have to accept this on a relative scale... but once you meet a deity, you will then understand what smaller means In duality understanding And there is a change you understand both/and of no separation and the lost of dual thinking
  9. The Advantage of Evil

Was existentialism about preparing to live ? Mechanical... what if that is your Way ?

As the saying goes on pornography... I know it when I see it

Government Shutdown ? Why not. We will close the IRS but the Mueller investigation can continue... In the president's words, "WITCH HUNT"
  12. The Advantage of Evil

With duality as our mind's game, we're allowed either/both sides. I recall a story told in church one time of two people caught inside a church without knowledge of the other due to being on opposite sides of a wall during a doomsday episode. The believer felt abandoned by god for the act. The non-believer felt they found god for the act.

So the Mattis resignation has caused a stir. I had commented in another thread that maybe Mattis who is used to calling the shots now realizes he cannot do his mad-dog thing in this role. I wanted to look up any policy on the SoD and found some interested issues like the SoD is usually a civilian and cannot be a military person who has retired within 7 years without a waiver. Mattis was just the second person to get such a waiver. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/why-congress-mandates-civilians-lead-military-n691296 https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/10/113

I kind of wonder if the Syria draw down means pilots are on notice ?
  16. U.S. Law and Policy

This and so many others issues have had a blind eye turned to them for such a long time... budgets come to mind too... Its reckless to run a country without knowing that cutbacks are required; you cannot just run in a straight line of spending and ignoring.
  17. I mentioned this in another thread but worth repeating... the smallest things can sometimes be the greatest help... Super Glue I have fixed 3 computers which it which otherwise one needs to replace the casing. Also my microwave handle. They now make it in a gel so you don't have to mess with the watery very. My recommendation is, buy more than one as you'll find more and more uses for it

Comey is railing on Flynn that 'he lied'... and he didn't need his miranda rights read to him... he didn't need a lawyer. Compare to how they questioned H.C. She was armed with lawyers. He is incredibly deceitful to suggest all of that. The FBI said he did not lie. Only the special prosecutor got him to make a plea agreement to plead guilty to lie to something [that he did not lie about]. Comey knows this game and is playing everyone.
  19. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 16

Try to see or feel or sense it in or as the heart. The chinese 'xin' is heart-mind', but I would default to the heart as that is in daoist theory the General who reads and directs. I can help you experience that as an experiment if you want. But the more you focus on the mind, the more you lose sight of the heart.
  20. Ok, a few updates: 1. Garage door sensors were replaced and then some. We called out some to replace the sensors but they talked us into replacing the door motor, sensors and opener. I wish I had thought of this many years ago as it solved a few problems: a. sensors replaced b. motor is smaller and stronger and quieter and moved closer to door; now the light which was too tight to the motor can be a bigger light. 2. Cabinet falls in kitchen The unit we rent out... a cabinet, after 10 years, fell off the wall ! WTF They lost some important stuff they kept in a cabinet... I don't know who keeps important stuff in a cabinet but they did. I used some wood glue with straps to pull the cabinet broken parts together; then used right angle supports at all corners to reinforce it. When I went to re-hang it, saw they did not even go into the second set of studs ! And the corner side, they got just 1 screw into a stud... I got 6 screws into a stud now; I could sleep on top of this thing now. Bad news is, I looked at my unit next door and my same cabinet shows signs of pulling away from the wall. I reported this to the HOA... I'll hold my breath and die. 3. Super Glue If you read one of these items, this is the gem of history of invention... the guy who invented this should get the nobel peace prize as this has singularly kept my house peaceful more than any repair item Fixed a microwave handle... but that is not the story. I have now fixed three computers with case, screws, or attachment issues that repair shops have said cannot be fixed. Get the new gell style as it does not run all over your hands and lock fingers together
  21. U.S. Law and Policy

It will be curious where this goes. Their entire basis for doing this was flawed yet they forced it on the entire population. Had they really thought this through, they would of realized they are only helping the poor and should of created a program specifically for that, based on income levels. They would still be some fraud going on but it would be better than the "lie of the year".
