  2. The limits of free speech

But two pages later... you still did not answer Brian's question... added: Or did I miss it.
  3. The limits of free speech

I'd say yes and no... the 'counter' part already defines it as against the original cause. If that intention can be kept under control, then it will fare well... but when both sides have weaponized themselves, you can guess the outcome.
  4. ~~~ ADMIN COMMENT ~~~ Folks have some freedom of expression on this forum as long as they are respectful of others and stay within the rules. But, we do let lots of stuff slide to allow peer moderator and peer reminders to work some of it out. Staff really wants to be the last line of defense of the forum rules. Personalities as they are, are sometimes not going to sound so sympathetic, and actually one might encounter it more so on such a forum like this, where a kind of 'tough love' (suck it up) gets tossed around at times. I've said to staff that being on staff is a form of cultivate because a lot of our personal buttons will get pushed while we aim to maintain forum decorum and rules. Simply by participating, members may realize this too. Let's try to stay on topic. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  6. Mair 11:3

This seems to be ZZ condemning the role of the Five Emperors, which are encased in Confucian 'Emperor Kings' mentality.
  7. Mair 11:1

is this translation accurate? It seems ass-backwards, till I had also considered Taomeows post:
  8. Mair 10:1

This may be the crux of understanding ZZ, and why it is so difficult to understand him... very few can toe both of these lines as a singular path. For this, that singular path is, "naturally live".
  9. In the Northern Darkness, there is a Fish...

I think ZZ is way beyond energy centers... but this did make me think whether he sees the energy centers are a transformational shift of the human perception.
  10. WTF are we?

Did you ever wake up from a dream only to realize you are still in the dream
  11. My take is that may mean your perineum is active, which is good. I've had this for a long time due to MCO practices. My big issues with what you describe are: 1. jealous of the orgasms my girlfriends were having 2. wanted more from my 3-5 second burst of an ejaculation. 3. Seeking something more for yourself... maybe you mean a kundalini experience ? Your focus is on yourself and not your partner (or is it partners, as you said, 'girlfriends') ? I'm not a moralist who will speak against having more than one sexual partner, but what you have created is a diametrically opposed problem: You have a few partners but focus on yourself. my previous post was likely not clear enough but I'd simply recommend you figure out how to focus on a partner and how you can attain closeness with one partner in such a way that it is not just sex and ejaculation issues. There is a partnership of energy being shared and you should focus more on her than yourself. If she is happy... you should be very happy. That being said, you follow your heart and practice and where you are going. I see something better for you in the future.

Kurosawa rocks... during a particular phase of Life I read a lot about him... he told an incredibly story as a youth when Japan surrender... most people expected the emperor to kill himself and most everyone in attendence was ready to follow... except he did the unthinkable... and surrendered his will. Thank god as we got Kurosawa
  13. Dr Jwing-Ming Yang

JMO... the eight pieces are in his first two books... I'd use those first two books to see you can confirm what he is teaching. Making a jump to Medical Qigong is of significant depth. I just mean, make sure you feel you have the foundation or the destiny.
  14. Practicing to improve sex seems... a bad motivation for a practice. I like Mantak Chia's materials but I don't agree with an attempt to follow his sexual practices. Forget them. If you have a partner, feel your heart and her heart connection... all the time... and in particular it can be combined with a gaze. You should be practicing to just improve your energy level in general; in basic-speak; your connection to the universe. So the small pictures need to simply be apart of the larger picture. Don't put your tongue somewhere special during some event... the great secret is: Put your tongue under the roof of your mouth 24x7.. let it sit there all day and all night... Isn't that easier ? That's my tip.
  15. Sometimes it is just genetic... I had a friend going bald at 20... Have you been athletic most of your life? In competitive sports? I guess not. And I don't know your worldview, past hurts, hopes dashed, etc. I would not focus on the hair issue. And your chasing exercises to fix something you're not sure what is wrong. Tell me an energy practice you do that gives you energy or tranquility or stillness? But just to share an herb supplement, you can look at this: http://www.chinesenaturalherbs.com/index.php/product/ge-jie-nourishing-kidney-pills-bu-shing-wan/ The key is to not make the perceived issue a major problem... find how to relax, release, and find energy connections in your practice.
  16. Taichi, Qigong, Neigong Advice Please!

I'll come back in to comment... Qigong: This is the simplest energy art to harness as it is simple and natural... you can feel energy from a tree or a person. You can teach your wife and do pairs stuff... it is family friendly. Taiji: This is a long game thing... I might guess that most of the western folks who try this will never realize nor harness what it is intended to teach and provide. You need a lifetime dedication to it. I'd forget about it. Neigong: This is a long game without any true outcome in most cases. Unless you know you have past life understanding that this is your path for your future lifetimes, you'll not realize much, if anything, in this lifetime. Focus on this life experience, unless there is clear sign of long game stuff.
  17. The Problem With The Forum Admin...

fair enough... and I don't remember seeing that but realize that members here may appear like individual turf wars at times, but it is not personal... your very first post had this kind of message to you too.
  18. Dr Jwing-Ming Yang

You 'liked' my post here about his books: Maybe go with more specific questions. Here is my experience with him, which I have likely shared but I'll do so again. The books I recommended should be understood in order: I was able to re-produce everything he shared in those two... down to each form and MCO. In the second book, Tai Chi Chi Kung, see page 80-82, Arching the Arms or Embracing the Moon on the Chest. This must be tested fully. If you can re-produce what he says should occur, then you are truly ready to keep going on in energy practices. Qigong massage should be read by anyone who is doing massage... It covers the 12 meridians in a way everyone in energy arts should understand. The various points, gates, and direction to employ is great. The reflexology at the end is very good. If you really get through the first three, then Root of Chinese Chi Kung seems redundant... that is his problem as he tends to recycle his material too much. Root is a good first book to see his overall theory but the first three books in my list are better detail. This book adds a bit of qigong history and theory. Embryonic Breathing is in some ways a very disappointing book due to the lack of clear guidance on how to actually do the practice. The greatest gift of the book is page 153 onward of translations of ancient texts. This is my final opinion: I think his early materials are golden but he later resorts to recycling his material but adds something new in most cases. He comes from a martial art point of view and has hundreds of publications on that too... so I don't feel he fully grasps the Qigong, energy art side given someone who has published for so many decades. He is best to feed the martial art group, IMO. My Medical Qigong teacher went to meet him and while JMY claims to teach 'push hands' as his highest art, he refused to do it with my Medical Qigong teacher... and he was very smart to refuse. My Medical Qigong teacher only uses one hand to do push hands and he uses the other hand to manipulate his opponents Qi to seek out their weakness. He did this in Asian in competitions for many years.
  19. Zhenren: The Authentic Person

Likely real[ized] is more the meaning as I think in daoist terms, it is a state of being; one is in unity and thus personifies the Great Way. The opposite then is not a fake person but simply unrealized or not living in unity as the highest expression of Way. Thus, duality is not the beacon he shines but the light of the Way.
  20. The Problem With The Forum Admin...

I agree with the unified field is what's important to occur. When I was in my Medical Qigong phase, I was working on unifying and passing energy between the chakras or energy centers... but I never really meditated. I learned one energy passing technique from an instructor in that method who said I was able to do it faster and easier than anyone she had seen before. Looking back, I think it was because I had already working on unifying the chakras and could identify with their presence in a sense. And because my first exposure to energy work was in pairs and group, so passing energy was the norm.
  21. The Problem With The Forum Admin...

Ask if you can connect and use the energy of specific deities? If not, then how can one possibly access primordial energy? Let's not talk Drew. The heart chakra is key... Daoist said it is the 'General' that directs all energy. 3rd eye can communicate but sometimes it is stuck in the local mind of astral stuff. At least what I'm talking about is more heart based connection to the source. The more the other chakras open the better the layers peel back and reveal the primordial. In other words, regardless of what chakra is open, if you skip the heart opening and creating a connection, you just remain in local Qigong connection stuff... there are just too many stories that I leave out and don't really care to get into... just giving a more summary point of view. And of course, this is just my opinion and experience.
  22. The Problem With The Forum Admin...

fair point Some folks don't talk because nobody will quite believe it... without experience, it can seem crazy. There is healing to be found in many manners and energy arts. I've allowed other kinds of healers here, or folks in magic, to connect with me to do 'their thing'... and then they want to know if I 'felt them'... A resounding YES... their presence was felt; heat overcomes; the 3rd eye sparks; energy flows. One person said they got a big dizzy when connecting to me and had to get themself under control to continue. I was at complete ease myself. I started with pairs energy exchange. My first lessons were group energy transmission and how to affect another person. We'd stand behind someone and then make them move in a direction we wanted. We pass silently in a circle, energy and you have to 'know' who sent it. We'd do heart energy exchange with the hands that seemed more Taiji than Qigong... An inner intuition was nurtured to simply know the whole of what was going on. I tested many book examples by Dr. Yang in terms of meridian flow; I confirmed them all. At this point, I knew Qi was real and was controllable and could be transmitted with ease. Later clinicals with very dark energy situations confirmed how to even combat what felt like energy attacks. I learned a few lessons and improvised in a few sessions to deal with dark/dirty energy. It was all very educational in a real way. BTW: The program focused on cancer healing. I tested Taiji next. I wanted to see how that differed, or not. I found I had to 'turn off' my inner qigong bias to allow Taiji to flow easier, and visa versa. For example: Taiji likes to keep the palms downward (grounding) in the front breathing posture of passing the hands in front of the body. In Qigong, we like the hands upward (heaven energy).. I coupled that later to create a movement cycle of Qigong (receive heaven energy) to Taiji (transmit/release to the ground); connect heaven and earth. To cut to the chase, my experience and everything I read and saw about QIgong healers, including my two masters, is that Qigong exhausts the person in healing... if you're doing serious healing issues. I meet some reiki masters who thought the Qigong was much more effective, yet I thought their method of channel was more helpful to protect the healer, except their connection to the source was simply not strong enough. THe found they could use their own energy but that is a bad method in the end. Master Jiang who was rather internally well known Qigong master of healing died trying to heal someone. Getting beyond the idea of Qi leads to a higher understanding of primordial energy and universal connectedness. That part is hard to share as without experience, it just is too hard to accept or understand... and folks roll their eyes or share their negative experience of it. I can't explain it, I can only show it.
  23. Zhenren: The Authentic Person

I agree that this part is key... lots of interesting uses of the term in daoist writings. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zhenren
  24. Blocking/Ignoring Topics

I don't believe it exists as a standard feature of the forum software.
  25. The Problem With The Forum Admin...

No need to meditate... that is a seeking and separation idea. Find Unity. once there, everything is connected. Find any deity or anyone, even through another's consciousness. Think universal consciousness. I've been through two medical qigong masters and appreciate how they lead me along my path. Mencius is famous for the idea that: "Yi leads the Qi". Very important in medical qigong. But Qi can lead one to beyond Qi... don't stop with a understand or concept of Qi as energy.
