  1. Where do I start?

My best advice would be to follow your heart, never do something just because everyone else says its THE only path, as everyone is unique, what is meant for one is not always meant for another. Go for what ever deep down feels the most right.
  2. shaktipat

Thank you very much Fiveelementao for this great post. I have always never understood what exactly kundalini is and how it is different than qi and now I feel I have a much better understanding as your post really resonated with me. What is the best way an individual can as you say remove kundalini? Since kundalini is a personal thing and everyone has unique karma to work out, perhaps it is really up to each individual to figure out their best way to remove their kundalini. I would think being in the wu wei and following where it takes you so that your actions are aligned with the source may be the best way to deal with our personal karmic debt.
  3. Instinctive Meditation

"Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new." - Albert Einstein I find that pain/suffering/mistakes although not fun are one of the greatest tools for learning and evolving. I just came to the realization when pain/suffering/mistakes happen we should never get angry with ourselves or at others as that was the past and theres nothing we can do about what happened, instead say, "thank you universe for giving me a sign as to what is imbalanced in my life, I will now try to determine the root of my suffering so that I may learn from my mistake and better evolve as the beautiful human being that I am". Isn't that a much better way to look at suffering than simply getting yourself worked up over things that already happened , of course its easier said than done when suffering actually occurs

  5. The After Death Question

ya I dont know if I agree, I think Einstein was actually being sarcastic and joking around when he said that heres some Einstein quotes I like: "Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one. "A person starts to live when he can live outside himself." "The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education." "The only real valuable thing is intuition." "Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted counts." "The further the spiritual evolution of mankind advances, the more certain it seems to me that the path to genuine religiosity does not lie through the fear of life, and the fear of death, and blind faith, but through striving after rational knowledge." "A human being is a part of a whole, called by us _universe_, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."
  6. The After Death Question

a nice quote I just found which I thought I might add: "The fear of death is the most unjustified of all fears, for there's no risk of accident for someone who's dead." - Albert Einstein
  7. Peak Oil and the end of civilization as we know it.

Thank you Strawdog! Definitely the most powerful film I have seen in a while, I actually just emailed the link to my family to watch. I have been thinking similarly to Michael Ruppert recently, but it is nice to see all the factual information on one plate.
  8. What is your Enlightenment paradigm?

Personally I really like what Ya Mu has said in the past about enlightenment on this forum. That enlightenment is when you become one with your true higher self, which is pure energy and consciousness, become one with the tao. I like how Ya Mu says there are always higher levels, enlightenment is not a end, it is a beginning to finding your true self so that you can reach new and higher levels. I like this view of enlightenment over the static version of you achieve some form of spiritual stature then thats it, you done with everything.
  9. I believe the human race has unlimited potential, simply most haven't realized that potential yet
  10. You know what's really heart-breaking?

I do think that if we could all lovingly work together humanity could achieve so much
  11. A Helpful Hippo

Saw this and thought it was a really great story of compassion seen in the animal kingdom by a usually aggressive animal My link
  12. A Helpful Hippo

Speaking of videos of animals showing compassion for one another, heres one of those very videos of an amazing dog saving another My link
  13. Call of the Great Spirit

I don't quite get what your saying here? If what you mean is that simply saying knowledge and theory of which you don't quite understand is not true wisdom as true wisdom can only come through direct experience, or what you say cultivation; then yes I agree with you.
  14. Call of the Great Spirit

[quote name='wtm' date='31 January 2011 - 12:01 PM' timestamp='1296504067' post='239311' Regarding Native American shamanism there are no teachers here, so what you say is void, that particular knowledge can only be found in books in my situation. True that they all point to the same moon but sometimes you need various approaches. I was simply saying in general that a true teacher can greatly help along one's path, this applies to both Native American shamanism, Taoism, ect.
  15. A Helpful Hippo

    Nice!
  16. Call of the Great Spirit

The book I posted is more of the authors personal journey to becoming a Medicine Man and the wisdom that he leaned along the way, which is definitely well worth the read in my opinion. In the back of the book he describes the rules and simple steps of how to live a life of good health and balance and harmony with God/The Great Spirit/Tao, which personally I intend to follow to the best of my ability. The rules he describes are not just his personal beliefs, nor are they simply traditional native american beliefs but are universal laws of the universe to follow in order to be at one with it, of course though this is still a matter of opinion and I will not argue with anyone. Always follow whatever feels most true in your true heart and you can never go wrong. In general though I would recommend not looking to books or even DVD's as teachers, but as supplements to better understand teachings. No DVD or book could EVER get you as far as a true teacher would and even a true teacher can only show you the gate, it is up to you to make the journey yourself as true knowledge is always experiencetial as in you can only truly spiritually progress through direct experience.
  17. Call of the Great Spirit

Yes, Ya Mu on this forum has trained under several Native American Medicine Men as well as Finally learning under Chinese Taoist Masters. He said that he found many of the healing techniques used by the Native American Shamans were identical to medical qigong techniques used by the Taoist Masters
  18. Hey guys, found this news video and article about a massive solar storm said by NASA to happen 2012. I simply found this interesting and was just wondering what your guys comments are. 2012 may seem a bit cheesy, however I think it is obvious that the earth is going through changes now with all the extreme weather and natural disasters we've been getting. I'm not saying 2012 is the "doomsday" or anything, just saying its an interesting topic and wondering what your guys thoughts on it are. Heres the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_TzIUlaQok&feature=player_detailpage heres the link I found it on which also has an article with it My link
  19. NASA Warns of Super Solar Storm 2012

Heres a NASA scientist who completely disproves what Michio Kaku is saying and says that the next max solar activity will not occur until spring 2013 and says that there is evidence it will be smaller than normal. Just goes to show that it all depends on what you want to believe and theres always gonna be one guy saying this and one guy saying that http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHGaZMC8E0U&feature=player_detailpage
  20. Attraction

Interesting, I do believe that everyone has soul mates and twin flames who probably make up the true essence of spiritual/energy connection. I think when were spiritually ready is when the universe throws these kind of spiritual mates at us. What I was referring to earlier was simply that the kind of girl I'de be most attracted to would be physically attractive as well as spiritually aware on a level similar to me, or at least be spiritually open to new things and ideas. Spirituality is part of who I am and I wouldn't want to feel I had to hide that from someone I'm supposed to care about and be open to. Basically the person whom I would be most attracted to would be someone whom I could be my true self around.
  21. Attraction

Ya I'm actually feeling the same way as you, I want to first worry about my internal situation and get my own energy in order before I worry about things externally to myself.
  22. Collar Broke

You may want to consider finding a local Medical qigong practitioner in your area, Ya Mu said that medical qigong can greatly decrease the healing time for broken bones. Heres a case study that Ya Mu wrote which you may find useful: Simplified case study Broken Leg Child with broken leg. Cast in place. Presentation was pain with broken bones. Parents were interested in reducing recovery time and reducing pain. Therapy utilized: Taoist Medicine and Taoist Energy Arts. 2x weekly for 3 weeks Pain was reduced 1st session and eliminated by 3rd session. Cast was removed early and physicians were astounded at the rate of recovery. It is very interesting that a neighboring child broke their leg the same day and had to have cast on for several weeks longer. Note I said interesting as there would be no way to make a direct comparison. Another simplified case study Broken wrist This client had severe break and bruising. Cast in place. Presentation was numbness, unable to move hand and fingers, severe swelling, pain, and discoloration. Client utilized hands in profession and was anxious to regain full use. Therapy utilized: Taoist Medicine and Taoist Energy Arts 2x weekly for 3 weeks Pain, swelling, discoloration, and some numbness were reduced 1st session. Each session saw increased mobility. All symptoms were gone by end of therapy and client returned back to work with full use of hand and wrist. Broken bones heal MUCH faster with these therapies. If you can't find a local medical qigong practitioner, you could also message Ya Mu as he does distant healings and you could ask him how he might help you? Good luck and hope you feel better soon
  23. Attraction

to me physical beauty does not = attraction. I can admire physical beauty, but for me to be interested in someone enough go out with, they need to be more than that. They need to stand out to me and really show some of the common things that I'm interested in. For me true attraction occurs when there is a physical and spiritual connection. I haven't yet found the girl for me, maybe because at the moment I'm not really trying; I'm just gonna let the universe present me with my perfect person when the time is right.
  24. Five Reasons You Won't Die

My dad showed me this article which I found very interesting and enjoyable to read. Well heres the article, enjoy We've been taught we're just a collection of cells, and that we die when our bodies wear out. End of story. I've written textbooks showing how cells can be engineered into virtually all the tissues and organs of the human body. But a long list of scientific experiments suggests our belief in death is based on a false premise, that the world exists independent of us − the great observer. Here are five reasons you won't die. Reason One. You're not an object, you're a special being. According to biocentrism, nothing could exist without consciousness. Remember you can't see through the bone surrounding your brain. Space and time aren't objects, but rather the tools our mind uses to weave everything together. "It will remain remarkable," said Eugene Wigner, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1963 "in whatever way our future concepts may develop, that the very study of the external world led to the conclusion that the content of the consciousness is an ultimate reality." Consider the uncertainty principle, one of the most famous and important aspects of quantum mechanics. Experiments confirm it's built into the fabric of reality, but it only makes sense from a biocentric perspective. If there's really a world out there with particles just bouncing around, then we should be able to measure all their properties. But we can't. Why should it matter to a particle what you decide to measure? Consider the double-slit experiment: if one "watches" a subatomic particle or a bit of light pass through slits on a barrier, it behaves like a particle and creates solid-looking hits behind the individual slits on the final barrier that measures the impacts. Like a tiny bullet, it logically passes through one or the other hole. But if the scientists do not observe the trajectory of the particle, then it exhibits the behavior of waves that allow it pass through both holes at the same time. Why does our observation change what happens? Answer: Because reality is a process that requires our consciousness. The two-slit experiment is an example of quantum effects, but experiments involving Buckyballs and KHCO3 crystals show that observer-dependent behavior extends into the world of ordinary human-scale objects. In fact, researchers recently showed (Nature 2009) that pairs of ions could be coaxed to entangle so their physical properties remained bound together even when separated by large distances, as if there was no space or time between them. Why? Because space and time aren't hard, cold objects. They're merely tools of our understanding. Death doesn't exist in a timeless, spaceless world. After the death of his old friend, Albert Einstein said "Now Besso has departed from this strange world a little ahead of me. That means nothing. People like us...know that the distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion." In truth, your mind transcends space and time. Reason Two. Conservation of energy is a fundamental axiom of science. The first law of thermodynamics states that energy can't be created or destroyed. It can only change forms. Although bodies self-destruct, the "me'' feeling is just a 20-watt cloud of energy in your head. But this energy doesn't go away at death. A few years ago scientists showed they could retroactively change something that happened in the past. Particles had to "decide" how to behave when they passed a fork in an apparatus. Later on, the experimenter could flip a switch. The results showed that what the observer decided at that point determined how the particle behaved at the fork in the past. Think of the 20-watts of energy as simply powering a projector. Whether you flip a switch in an experiment on or off, it's still the same battery responsible for the projection. Like in the two-slit experiment, you collapse physical reality. At death, this energy doesn't just dissipate into the environment as the old mechanical worldview suggests. It has no reality independent of you. As Einstein's esteemed colleague John Wheeler stated "No phenomenon is a real phenomenon until it is an observed phenomenon." Each person creates their own sphere of reality - we carry space and time around with us like turtles with shells. Thus, there is no absolute self-existing matrix in which energy just dissipates. Reason Three. Although we generally reject parallel universes as fiction, there's more than a morsel of scientific truth to this genre. A well-known aspect of quantum physics is that observations can't be predicted absolutely. Instead, there's a range of possible observations each with a different probability. One mainstream explanation is the 'many-worlds' interpretation, which states that each of these possible observations corresponds to a different universe (the 'multiverse'). There are an infinite number of universes (including our universe), which together comprise all of physical reality. Everything that can possibly happen occurs in some universe. Death doesn't exist in any real sense in these scenarios. All possible universes exist simultaneously, regardless of what happens in any of them. Like flipping the switch in the experiment above, you're the agent who experiences them. Reason Four. You will live on through your children, friends, and all who you touch during your life, not only as part of them, but through the histories you collapse with every action you take. "According to quantum physics," said theoretical physicists Stephen Hawking and Leonard Mlodinow, "the past, like the future, is indefinite and exists only as a spectrum of possibilities." There's more uncertainty in bio-physical systems than anyone ever imagined. Reality isn't fully determined until we actually investigate (like in the Schrödinger's cat experiment). There are whole areas of history you determine during your life. When you interact with someone, you collapse more and more reality (that is, the spatio-temporal events that define your consciousness). When you're gone, your presence will continue like a ghost puppeteer in the universes of those you know. Reason Five. It's not an accident that you happen to have the fortune of being alive now on the top of all infinity. Although it could be a one-in-a-jillion chance, perhaps it's not just dumb luck, but rather must be that way. While you'll eventually exit this reality, you, the observer, will forever continue to collapse more and more 'nows.' Your consciousness will always be in the present -- balanced between the infinite past and the indefinite future -- moving intermittently between realities along the edge of time, having new adventures and meeting new (and rejoining old) friends. -Robert Lanza M.D
  25. The After Death Question

Hey Cat Pillar, I believe you would really enjoy reading the book Destiny of Souls by Michael Newton. Michael Newton is a soul hypno-therapist, as in he induces an extremely deep trance state in his participant and brings the person deeper into their life to recall their earliest memories, then memories in the womb, then even deeper before life when they were simply a soul (energy) and then deeper into their previous life, ect. Dr. Newton has decades of research into this and the very interesting thing is, is that no matter who the participant is, no matter what they're belief of the afterlife or spirituality is they always give almost identical accounts of their soul journey's. Michael Newton says that this kind of soul past life regression he does is very therapeutic as everyone comes back from it with the knowledge of knowing they are more than just a body of physical flesh and they now know who they truly are as beings of immortal energy. I would definitely recommend reading it as it was very uplifting for me to read and really does take a big weight off your chest if your wondering or worrying about death. Heres a link for the book if your interested My link
