Well behind the scenes can you give a better example what you mean? Defo not a cult feel, just more training and understanding, herbal and healing knowledge, dim mak information and how things are meant to be. There is an oath you do at the alter when you bai shee to certain gods and or Deities, pouring of wine and other stuff that is transmission if that is what you call behind the scenes? My Hun Yuan Gong teacher when I bai shee and offered the tea he did an energetic transmission using energy channels and acupuncture points that was different to my Yau Kung Mun one, the YKM Bai Shee which was the oath and offerings, plus we had a dinner after that and I showed my kung fu to my sifu and family.

Rosicrux is very interesting alchemy Too bad Sifu Jenny wont teach the last part of what she known of the Kunlun, I guess that is a perfect example of holding back information?
-
Agree scotty, some need guidance in the interim more than others though and gnosis will come quicker when they have a better understanding before they actually start, do you agree? How you going these days, what is your practice now?

Thanks, im not really that much of a bad guy, just very protective of what Im taught and I seem to tell it how it is, just being straight up which some cannot understand. Anyway sorry that you have had a bad experience with Kung Fu, its truly is an amazing culture and journey when you find the right teacher/s! Take care Sifu Garry

In my early Yau Kung Mun Kung Fu training with my Sifu, if you never learnt , practiced the lion and dragon dancing every sunday, and participated in the chinese lion and dragon dance festivals you would never be taught the kung fu. So your loyalty to the school was the 1st thing in my experience of traditional kung fu with my sifu.

Inner door teachings cost nothing, cause you have earned it, all my teachers never charged me a cent once I become his disciple, so yes I totally feel for you regarding money. But I also charge until I see my student has earned my respect and loyalty and it goes both ways. You train hard and give to the system u deserve the higher teachings! Informer, Yes there is many secrets, which I call higher learning this has always been the way of Kung Fu. Example is I teach you a form or meditation without tell you what the names are and what its for, of course you will think you will understand it and then add something you may research or learnt from another system to fill in the blanks. I dont hold back my knowledge you can ask any of my students now and previous, just they need to train hard and show me there skills and knowledge of what is taught to them and they will get the next level plain and simple. If students dont show me what Ive taught them and or do show me I will see very quickly if they have put in the practice and research that I have asked for. They cant answer my questions I give them I see they havent advanced, why should they get another level??? Cause they have money??? Nah, fuck the money I protect my art and my teachers name as well ancestors....money means nothing you cannot buy your way into the school or become a disciple in that manner. Unless you have been brought up in the chinese way of thinking and training maybe you will never understand this concept, sad but true mate. Sifu Garry

Inner door, closed door, inner circle all same to me, depends on how you look at it! Scotty, sure it sucks but maybe the master is seeing something different to what you or the person is doing to judge you in this case? How many people here on this forum, learn something of this and that and think they know it all from a book or DVD in a matter of months or a year and claim to be the teachers pet and representative? Kunlun is a perfect example!!! People mixing KAP with Kunlun, and mao shan and all sorts but havent even bothered to study one thing perfectly, another example how a system gets watered down and destroyed I totally see why the masters kept the secrecy.

Harmony, That isnt true at all, there is students that come and go and there is students that train so so and there is students that are really loyal and want to learn the full system. To hand over everything without them being ready or deserving will only destroy the art this has also been my experience. You ever here stories of old masters teaching stances for years before allowing someone to get into forms? This happened to me also I was tested in my loyalty for many many years before even being accepted to Bai Shee, by helping the club doing chores for my Sifu things that wasnt even kung fu related. I also test my loyalty of my students this way, I dont think anyone should be given a free ride in CMA, Kung fu means hard work and you really have to understand what Kung Fu is not just on an fighting or art side of things. Just my 2 cents! Sifu Garry

Nice post Settler regarding the Dan Tian and chakra theory, this is the same as in Burning Palm System as it has Tibetan and Daoist roots! -

Drink the Gerson Therapy juices, if your drinking water and its not helping means your intestines are clogged and cannot absorb also maybe get into some coffee enemas to cleanse as it will detox the liver too. Look up Gerson Therapy, The beautiful Truth, The Gerson Miracle and dying to have known, these documentaries changed my way of thinking, eating and living using natural food for health and to defeat cancer. Hope you get better... Sifu Garry

Chinese traditional way was to keep the art authentic, these days people pay money and want the highest teachings before they can even master just a basic horse stance or punching methods. How many kung fu masters and students online you see that cant even do basics properly. The closed door way or higher learning was to safe guard the system from being watered down or messed up, as well skills like dim ma / Dim Yuet are not trusted to some students or even anyone cause in the wrong hands can really hurt someone. I know before you all start carrying on we live in a world where you can just get a gun and shoot someone, but chinese martial arts still have some rules and etiquette regarding learning these things. If a student cannot master the basics why should they be given anything else??? This is the Bak Fu Pai creed and is similar to the Bak Mei creed! Respect your country, respect the people. Respect your Shi Fu and ancestors, respect all martial arts. Learn righteous, learn magnanimous, learn Kung Fu. If you are able to accomplish the art, be humble. A master of the art does not abuse his knowledge by using it wrongfully. If a person is not a righteous person, he must not be taught even if he offers you ten thousand ounces of gold. If a person is a relative, but is not righteous, they may not be taught. If a person is a relative, and is righteous, they shall be taught. If you are able to learn the White Tiger Fist and Staff, though it may look like a useless rock, treat it as a brick of gold. (Translation from Doaist Monk Fung Doe Duk, 1644 A.D.)

You must be trying to say something towards me from my post on FP Bagua Kid? Yes, there is certain information one gets when you become a closed door disciple, believe it or not, but I teach out all my information to all my students never hold back. Just cause I mention my history doesnt mean anything but what I mentioned! Although my students dont get everything on a silver plater, they have to work for it and understand the traditions of what is taught to receive the information. Why did I get asked to be a closed door of my teachers, who knows, did I earn it? I believe so, I train hard, study hard and know the values of respect to my teachers. Does being a close door disciple mean anything to me, Yes & No, nice to be accepted into such deep knowledge, but also a burden! If this thread was based on my post if not I apologise for my response...

Josma, Sorry I missed your questions...lol The Bak Mei DVD and the hand forms can be learned whilst doing any other systems Internal cultivation, what Sifu Terry is trying to say is if you gonna do Qi Kung or FP, get that systems energetics down 1st before trying or adding others. I myself learnt the Bak Mei from GMDW including the Nei Gong & Hei Gong, after that I was chose to develop the rare Burning Palm Skills of the Doo Family. I do know that Sifu Terry was chosen like myself to master his FP Art the same way and GMDW always would appraise Sifu Terry for FP system. I myself didnt get into FP as my love was for Bak Mei and BP amongst other rare little systems I picked up from GMDW. I am also a closed door disciple of my main teacher of Yau Kung Mun and later becoming a closed door disciple of the Hun Yuan Yi Qi Zhang system. If you chose Bak mei and added the FP without doing the Bak Mei internal that is fine but the Bak Mei also has a complete internal system called Tin Gong Ba Fa, 8 methods of Divine force which is kind of defeats the purpose of doing something else or adding something else? It all come down to are you Content in what you want to train? I hope i answered your questions correctly, I do nightshifts so pretty tired!!! Sifu Garry

Yin training vs Yang Training
Warrior Body Buddha Mind replied to settler's topic in General Discussion
We are all Yin Yang, all is mind! -
Seth, Unfortunately this is the way chinese martial arts use a system for respect, ive put in close to 30yrs of hard and soft training in Kung Fu, the Title Sifu means Father of the art you teach. Meaning someone that has attained knowledge of what is taught and can teach what was taught to him properly. Yes I agree the master thing is also ego to some but to true kung fu practitioners its something that they hold to there hearts and is family orientated. Like Si Hing, Si Bak, Sifu, Si Mo, master is a english translation for Sifu I think which totally f@cked it up!!! How old was your teacher with dementia?
-
When it comes to CMA, Nei Gong, Hei Gong slow and steady wins the race as they say....
-
Yes, and that also depends on your Sifu! No one calls themselves a master its given to the person by their Sifu, this is what its like Chinese martial arts. Once becoming a Sifu you must still practice not just teach, this is a big problem in all styles IMHO! Sifu Garry

In Tai Chi Chuan, Should the Body Be Integrated or Separated?
Warrior Body Buddha Mind replied to Stigweard's topic in General Discussion
I dont do Taiji, I do other internal arts but all internal are usually the same in movement although each joint can be used separately to produce ging /fa jing, some use wave action, some use the whole body together depending on the move and the outcome you want when using it in fighting or push hands. I teach separately how the wave works and how the whole body as a structure, fighting and practice to me has more than one method of applying the power from the dan tian. Sifu Garry -
