Different spiritual paths have different ideas about using violence or force. Some choose to be totally pacifist, while others seem to condone self-defense or fighting for fundamental rights. I feel those are the 2 personal choices that one should consider, either total non-violence and pacifism, or choosing to defend oneself, defend one's human rights, or protect the weak when necessary. To me it's a personal choice.

I had read somewhere at some point something very interesting about the Star Exercise. What I read was that when soldiers who had to trek through the mountains and swamps, and trek very long distances in a day, like walking and hiking for 8 hours or more in a day.... at the end of the day when they finally made their camp, the exhausted soldiers would lay on the ground. When they layed on the ground they would stretch their arms out, and streth their legs out, very similar to the Star Exercise. When they were so exhausted, pushing the limits of human endurance, the natural thing they did, without thinking, was stretch out in a laying position similar to the Star Exercise. They instinctively knew, and naturally knew, this was the best posture to replenish their spent energy.

Today it's looking like if the protesters in Egypt want to inherit the earth, it's going to take some action, some strength, and fiercness. Meekness may not get the job done. It remains to be seen if Mubarak is going to unleash force on the protestors, but already the anti-Mubarak protetors are battling the pro-Mubarak people.

Of course you can do it inside, I wouldn't do it out in the cold snow myself. I think they are just saying fresh air is better than stale air, you could open a window in the summer if you like. I don't bother in the winter.

How do you contact and use Universal Life energy?
Immortal4life posted a topic in General Discussion
Here is a good method for making contact with Universal Life Energy- http://www.scienceofbeing.net/The_Mental_Contact.html Most people don't really understand what Life is and how to cultivate it. This is because they have lost touch with nature and their own original nature. Animals on the other hand are in touch with nature. Animals are already in tune with nature in their proper way. Their consciousness is quite different than ours I think, and so is their sense of time. They posses fierceness and strength to achieve physical feats that humans usually just can't ever achieve. This is primarily due to their use of universal life energy from the universe. They know what to do and when, and they are aware of many things. They naturally open and close their acupuncture points in the way they move and the positions they sleep in for example. A frog needs to breath through it's skin while a dog should breathe rapidly. They naturally have their own breathing methods. Animals take in a lot of energy. One way is through their fur, each hair is like a radio or antenna, which takes in energy from outside their body into their body. Birds absorb energy through their feathers. Migratory birds absolutely need to take energy from the universe. Even the layers of fat they put on through eating would not be enough to sustain their long flights without the contact with universal life energy. They also connect acupuncture meridians and acupuncture points in their movements and postures, like the postures they sit in or lay in. They open and close their acupoints, expanding and contracting their acupoints with each movement they make. Some humans naturally take in universal energy unconsciously better than others. Anyone who has a strong personality, has become successful and powerful, and is attractive to people unconsciously uses this energy. Others have consciously made contact with it through living in harmony with nature and deep meditation. For example, the Hindus and the ancient Jews would baptize themselves in rivers and water. Sometimes, especially nowadays, that water can be very polluted and contaminated with deadly germs. However, due to the strong meditative concentrated thoughts and the use of Universal Life energy by those people, the Life energy is the stronger force, it overpowers the deadly germs. Here is an article explaining how a double blind study recently discovered that the Chinese martial art of Taijiquan/Tai Chi Chuan, which incorporates Univeral Life Enrgy or what they call Qi in every movement, is the first known exercies to ever be proven to fight against the virus that causes shingles or perhaps even any virus at all. 2 groups were tested. One group that practiced Taiji, and the other group did regular exercies and ate a healthy diet. Only the Taiji group was able to improve immunity to viruses however. Search - Global Edition - The New York Times Tai chi fights shingles | Julie's Health Club - Where alternative and mainstream health meet Actually it's long been known in China that Tai Chi can cure many diseases including high blood pressure, arthritis, ulcers, tuberculosis and heart disease But it's not just the effects of viruses that can be weakened through Universal Life Energy. Many scientific studies and experiments have proven that an advanced level healer who can emit Universal Energy from their hands can decrease or increase the amount of bacteria in a petri dish depending on the intention of the healer. It has also been found that cancer cells can be decreased and destroyed when a Healer trained in using Universal Life energy emits energy at cancer cells in a lab. Yeah there are various methods and ways of using the hands in energy practices. Various systems use various ways. Some take energy in, some refine it and seal it in the body. Some circulate in in various ways. Some use one had over the other hand to create a sort of energy field I think... But yes I think left hand receiveing in and right hand giving out, or blessing, is a good method.... All I really know is what is taught on the website of the Lightbearers and Science of Being. They mention it expands your energy, and that it opens more subtle channels. I feel it connects to the pituitary and pineal bodies. It has only been made available to the public very recently. I would recommend the Science of Being books for a more detailed explanation- http://www.scienceofbeing.com/html/books.html It is explained in it's most fundamental form, as Universal, or also called Primal Energy. The fundamental Energy that backs all other forms of energy and all physical phenomena. To the human perception and consciousness Primal or Universal energy manifests and is percieved in 3 rays, which we call vibration. Physical or Magnetic vibrations, Mental vibrations, and Spiritual vibration I think visualization can help and make the exercise stronger, but remember that Primal energy, or Universal Life Energies' nature is that of Harmony and Balance. So it is self harmonizing and self correcting. It will naturally do what it should. Once the lower chakras, and specifically the Solar Plexus are strong and full of energy, the surplus naturally flows out the right hand,as well as the feet and the body in general I believe....

I have a high level of respect for the great spiritual traditions and lineages of the world. Especially, I respect the most, traditions that know how to develop the subtle energy of the body and universe, and understand the true nature of the mind. I want to know everything I can, and get all the best systems. I want to develop spiritually, and develop a high spiritual level in every great art and path I can get a hold of. I want a diverse skill set. I want a diverse understanding of spiritual cultivation methods and development. I want to know the similarities and differences, I want to know the underlying truths. I want the mysteries, I want the secrets, I want to understand the highest levels of the highest paths. I believe we are in the age where the veil should be lifted and mankind should gain the best methods of developing their mind, and especially their body and energy. These types of systems should be the future culture of mankind, for the current and coming age. What I mean by how far can it take you, is will it basically get you the high level meditation level of Tibetan Buddhism, and can you eventually get to the things in the videos like trulkor, tummo, changing hand mudras, etc.? That is always dilemma when someone recomends you only do their practice for a period of time. You must have a lot of faith in them if you will forego all the other great paths and systems potentially out there. However, it can be worth it.....but that is a major choice you will have to make and consider carefully. It can be difficult finding ways to practice mulitple systems, fitting them all in a way that doesn't interfere with each other. But it can be done I am sure.

Well enlightenment, that certainly is a good thing. That is also quite a task to take on. I also have an interest in getting good and high level systems of Yoga and energy development. I want diverse methods and to develop diverse skills. They are as important to me as meditation and mind training. How far can this program take you? So another question I would have would be can you also continue on with practicing other practices, Taoist methods, other systems of Yoga like Indian etc., if time permits while you are learning this program?

Well, on the link you give it says the higher tantras will be taught. What exactly do they mean by this? Is there a more complete description of what the curriculum exactly is and exactly what you will be getting? Do you have to sign up by a certain time, or can you start at anytime you like? How many hours a day does it require? Will you be learning this?- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEFCbZwT40A Or This?- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNjiHNUMKdY Or anything like this?-

I really wanna get all those things like the quickly changing mudras, kundalini, tantra, dzogchen, trulkor, tummo.....it's just that Tibetan Buddhism and Buddhism in general is such a confusing subject to me and I have trouble knowing where to start researching in order to get an understanding of what it is, who is good to learn from, how you learn it, etc. That's pretty much the only thing I dont know where to find, or who to learn from, or anything like that. I don't know what the lineages are, what the different branches are, what the history is, what is the best branch, who are good teachers.....

Throughout the history of modern medicine no known physical exercise was ever found to be able to fight a virus, however a new major scientific study found that practicing Tai Chi was able to contribute to the bodies' ability to fight against the Shingles virus- Actually it's long been known in China that tai chi can cure many diseases including high blood pressure, arthritis, ulcers, tuberculosis and heart disease Tai chi fights shingles | Julie's Health Club - Where alternative and mainstream health meet http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070408/ap_on_he_me/fitness_tai_chi_shingles Scientific Study- Wiley InterScience :: Session Cookies

Tai Chi first known exercise that fights viruses
Immortal4life replied to Immortal4life's topic in General Discussion
The Study compared people who practiced Tai Chi vs. people who got health education and exercise programs developed by western scientists. The tai Chi group showed an improvememnt in resistance to Shingles over the other group. Yes you are correct that cured is a tricky word. The word I chose was "can" cure, rather than "will" cure. Of course Tai chi can be difficult and not everyone will necessarily have the will power to persist. Also things like HBP can have a lot to do with poor lifestyle choices. -
I am very interested in Tibetan Buddhist meditation and Yoga, but I just don't know about online training. For the price they are charging, I just don't know.....it would have to be something I looked into very carefully and had a basic understanding of. I don't know if I believe it or not.

It's true that it is a very simple and natural thing in many ways, like Tao.

Here's an interesting article- http://www.dailygalaxy.com/my_weblog/2011/01/new-discovery-prehistoric-body-clock-in-humans-same-as-that-in-algae.html

I think it's one of the most open postures possible, it will open all the channels of the body

That's interesting, I didn't know Rosicrucians had any ideas like that, or any type of standing meditation practices.

For many, many, years, scientists claimed that the human brain, was like a machine. That it developed from birth to adulthood, and was fixed in it's function and abilities from there. However, in much more recent years this has been found to be wrong. A quality of the human brain that science has called "Neuroplasticity" has turned all the old ideas upside down. Not only has it been discovered that the brain is changeable and adaptable throughout one's entire lifetime, it has also been discovered that pathways within the brain, and how the brain works, can be changed through how you use the brain, how you train it, and even by what your thoughts are. Here is a special with Dan Rathers about the implications of Neuroplasticity, and many ways in which it can be taken advantage of, including Meditation. Found another site with explanations and instructions for the Star Exercise- http://www.projectinspireonline.com/star_exercise.htm

I basically agree with that, the mind is a very tricky thing.
-
Oh cool, I am happy to see most of the responses in that thread were positive. Yes I practice the Star Exercise and speak from my own experience with it.
-
It was pretty funny. I had to post it.
-
Yes there are many methods of practicing meditation. Sitting, standing, laying, or walking etc. Some people also consider Tai chi and Qi Gong forms to be a type of moving meditation as well.

To me this whole idea is just nasty. Urine is being eliminated from the body for a reason. It's the stuff your body doesn't want in it. There's also probably a reason that we have a natural instinct to be repelled by urine and have a natural instinct to find it disgusting. It seems very un-natural and un-Taoist to take something back in that your body just eliminated. Let's see what Floyd Mayweather has to say about it...lol!- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dWW3R8QXVE "That's filth man, that's nasty. How are you gonna drink piss, and then kiss your daughter?"-
