Running into walls again....ARGH!
JustARandomPanda replied to Lucky7Strikes's topic in General Discussion
I am increasingly questioning everything...and find increasingly everything seems pointless. I feel like I've crashed and burned...but what is burning...nothing...which is itself empty... I find myself increasingly irritated with both handing out advice and being on the butt-end of receiving it...but again...what is being irritated..nothing...which is itself empty... Which has lived a 1000000 x 1000000 eons and will do so again... All to what purpose? -

Thanks! I asked because I've mainly been focusing on Secret Smile since it's my weakest link. -
What do you believe is vanity, Marble? What do you believe you really are? *is curious* Call them by another name then? Perhaps Fables? p.s. I confess I've long been curious as to how many years you've been meditating. How deep and clear have you seen the Matrix? You seem to so peaceful.

I have been thinking over this very question recently - what if any past lives did I have? And if so why does everyone (well...almost everyone) drink at the River Lethe? For some reason the Book of Ecclesiastes has seemed relevant to me as of the past 2 days. I have lived a thousand times thousand lives and will do so again. To what end? Can someone please explain the following? what is a tigle? what is a bindo? what is a heart drop? -
I won't dismiss it. Once I can actually feel anything I bet BFK could be a great system for me! Certainly there are tons of people who have found great success with his methods. I confess I am more interested in Bardon at the moment. Not sure why, just know that I am. I've seen several TaoBummers praise his methods as well.

Perhaps, Creation. All I know is what I actually experienced - which wasn't much even after months of use. I got more results from KAP in one week (it seems more fire-oriented to me somehow) than I ever did with the Water Method. Perhaps I was doing Water Method wrong. That is a real possibility. If I remember correctly, one of Winn's major criticisms was that Frantzis leaves the Fire element - at least in the early stages (that I know of) - at an unconscious level. He thinks it's more useful to bring all of the elements into full conscious awareness for Qi Gong practice - even from the start. In any case this has gotten away from Bardon. I'd still like to hear other people's experiences about it. I confess Magick does have a certain appeal to me also.

This is very much along the lines of what the philosopher Jose Ortega y Gassett said about the rise of the political, cultural and social power of the Masses. It is the mark of the Mass Man to judge everything by his own (usually limited) realm of experiences and knowledge. The Mass Man puts in token effort to think about something new he's confronted with then (usually but not always) pops off with objections. He seldom - if ever - bothers to deeply inquire into the new information, how it was acquired, etc. Even less so does he ever bother to inquire into his own beliefs and why he's objecting (or assenting) to what he just heard. He's satisfied with his first thoughts. The non-Mass Man by contrast doesn't believe everything he thinks simply because he is the one who thought it. It takes a lot of energy and time to be a non-Mass Man. Well one way to look at it is that all those methods mentioned take time and effort. It's much like going on a diet or regular exercise regime with the precision and dedication of an athlete. Why go to such effort when there are other parts of society that claim you can get the same or superior results from a drug or just sitting on your butt and paying someone to listen to your problems? We can't even get people to take all their prescribed medicines completely with such dedication and precision (hence the increasing problem of germs becoming resistant to all but the newest drugs) so the lack of interest and drop off rate will be even greater when it requires more effort than popping a pill or flapping your gums. This also feeds into the fact that everyday new studies are published showing a correlation between the brain, neurochemicals and certain emotional or physical states. Now anyone who bothers to look into this stuff becomes aware that correlation does not mean causation. In fact this is a big concern for brain consciousness research. But how many people around you bother to remember this stuff or be aware of it? Research shows people tend to operate throughout the day on a few base set of Heuristics - Rules of Thumb. That is - the thought processes of Ortega's Mass Man. Now in many cases those Heuristics are surprisingly wise. And there's research to back that up. But just as often these same Heuristics and biases are applied to areas where the person has little to no expertise and their daily activities or efforts are needed elsewhere. So...by default...they operate on Ortega's Mass-Man level. I suspect we are all guilty of this to a large degree. Maybe Ivory Tower tenured Profs don't but I'm not sure how many other people have that luxury. Edit: BTW - it was precisely this problem that was one cause of Ortega and his philosophical twin, Julius Evola bemoaning the loss of the Aristocratic Elites of old. They had the idle time of the Tenured Prof and because of the old ethic of Noblesse Oblige would undertake great efforts to inquire - and thus from those efforts all humankind would (supposedly) benefit.

How does one "fill the Dantien"? Can someone explain how they filled their Dantien (I presume by using their heart-mind, not the brain)? Do Dantien's ever leak? Did you uh..somehow "cook" your Filled Dantien? I'm unsure as to whether Dantien Filling is something KAP 1 teaches. Maybe it's taught in KAP 2? -
Thank you for the suggestion. I have all of those books. I also have his Energy Gates DVD. I tried Frantzis's method for a while but got no results from it. Frantzis's method is extremely heavy on the Yin. I already suffer from an excess of Yin. In fact...I remember reading a critique Michael Winn had of Frantzis's Water Method one time. I think someone posted Winn's critique here. I found it explained why my body in particular didn't have success with Frantzis's methods (i.e. some people need to focus on FIRE in addition to Water to dissolve blockages). I liked Winn's critique so much I copied it to my PC*. Other people - such as you and Pietro - do have great success with Frantzis's methods. Most guys into Frantzis are Martial Artists - already a sign IMO they naturally possess a lot of Yang fire - perhaps even an excess. Hence they find balance with Frantzis's Water / Yin focus. I'm glad there are different methods and teachers out there so everyone eventually finds something that works for them. Hopefully TaoBum Lurkers will be inspired by your post to check out Frantzis's (and Bardon's) methods. p.s. I still love KAP and will continue with it even if I do try Bardon. * If anyone would like a copy of Michael Winn's critique PM me.

Oh hell. Now I understand why Secret Smile is stressed so heavily and the first thing taught. It's KAP's Qi Gong exercise that activates the Heart-Mind to open up all that follows. Great...and it's the one KAP exercise I suck at like no other. *heavy sigh* -
How big are these mirrors supposed to be? And where does one find a black mirror? What is EFT and PEAT? Are these 2 Bardon exercises?

I'm still curious how one uses Heart-Mind to move chi as opposed to using the brain. Can anyone explain how to do it the Step-by-Step / Paint-by-Numbers way? -

I may try the Spring Forest. Tao had us physicalize the MCO with our hands. The problem is that that never worked for me. As soon as I use my hands my 'awareness' goes into my hands and stays there. I was never able to transfer it to what I was touching. As for the other things mentioned by Eternal Student..no...I've never experienced the sensations described. I have no idea what this means. What does it mean to not move past the dantien for 10 months cook the qi I know I certainly don't have hot, viscous Chi! I'm cold as hell in my interior all the time. That's why I've been taking ginger and tumeric lately in the hopes of eventually this correcting. Also...I have no clue how someone moves their "heart-mind" as opposed to using their brain to move Chi. How does one use Heart-Mind to move chi? And how do you tell the difference? -
Thank you Enouch. You always post the coolest stuff!

I am concerned. From the descriptions here it sounds like the kind of MCO taught in KAP 1 is the fake MCO. Is this why I'm not getting any results from it even after many weeks? -

Can someone please explain the story of what bad experience the Dalai Lama had with one of his entities? I've not heard of this anywhere else except here. I think Santi's Psychic Self Defense course is a good one to take. If I ever get up enough money for it I'm definitely going to do it. Also...Ya Mu's suggestion - which I tried - does seem to work. I had a positive experience with it of which I am very relieved. Although as a result I am now convinced more than ever of the need to go out and actually *do* virtuous, charitable acts. And I am now definitely convinced Dr. Morris watches out for his all student's welfare.

See if you can 'feel' your Mingmen and what - if anything - it emits. I did that with mine and discovered it radiates a powerful blast of cowardice 24/7. I think it's one reason my life in the 'real world' as a shut-in has reduced itself to a little 450 sq ft apartment.

Is Taoist Hsin the same thing as Buddhism's Heart-Drops? I only recently found out Buddhism's Heart Drops are apparently a 'real' phenomenon that can be accessed (and I guess manipulated) instead of just a category label. I also wonder if it is similar to the "intelligence" the Hearthmath program found in the actual, physical heart. Also...what is the Crystal Palace?

Why do I feel like I've stumbled into an argument with Allen Bloom (The Closing of the American Mind author)? There's the camp (Ala Allen Bloom) who say texts/teachers are ultimately important. (External sourced authority) Then there's the camp that says You are what has to decide what is ultimately important. (Internal sourced authority) I constantly feel a tug of war in myself between both camps. First one sounds right, then the other...and on and on it goes. Sometimes being a beginner sucks. -

I didn't know that! I've never been to a rave so don't know what they're like. Oh I don't claim to know anything. Was just posting if it could be possible. For some reason I keep thinking the Buddha would've found that skillful means but that's just conjecture on my part. -

Perhaps...except for this...drumbeats can be felt by the body..and if the body is transformed (via enough drumbeats - a frequency that is felt) I would not be surprised to discover it could pull the mind in its wake. Perhaps one could still get to Nirvana whether the road taken is 1) the Mind leads first or 2) the Body leads first? Eventually both are transformed and once that happens does it make a difference to the end result as to which went first?
