In truth nothing I suppose. Except knowing that I know nothing I take note of the advice frequently handed out by fellow TaoBums much further along on the spiritual awakening path than myself. Look at how many people in this thread raked Ralis over the coals for his simple question instead of answering it. There is a strong prejudice at TaoBums - whether intentional or no - that can be summed up with the following: "The student who advises himself has a fool for a teacher."

Weak because we're taught not to believe in their existence? Or weak because most people don't bother with the spiritual except as a few yearly (or less) rituals? Or weak because as a nation we're getting fatter and less physically active? Why do non-Westerners have stronger channels? Is Western society really that degenerated? (shades of Julius Evola!) Do strong channels = healthy - necessary and sufficient - or is that only one among other conditions needed to not be weak? How exactly is a person with strong channels different from someone who has weak ones? Hmm... I wonder if someone like the author of this article who denies the existence of Qi has naturally strong channels?

What channels would these be?

Also for some of us who are involuntarily long term unemployed getting a teacher is not an option. It is frustrating and depressing to keep reading that *this* or *that* practice is out of reach without a teacher.

I have a question. I'm doing the belly breathing exercise the way it was described in the class. Except it's...ugh...making me horny. The stuff with the perineum I think is what's doing it. Is there a way to do this without getting that effect? Or does this mean I'm not doing it right?

Woohoo. Ok...I know I'm supposed to become unattached to attain enlightenment but the more I hear the more it seems I'm failing Enlightenment 101.

Thank you 7Lucky for posting this.

Edit: tried it again. I think I understand now finally. Except for some weird reason - For a split second - I got the distinct impression that not only was my awareness not my thoughts - I was not my breath either. WTH?

Is this the same thing as belly breathing? If not how is it different? I thought there was only 1 Dantien? There are actually 3?

Are Kan and Li taught in KAP?

If what Dr. Bartlett said is true by labeling it he *has* confined it. I'm not sure anyone not living in an un-enlightened state can do anything *but* confine the energy or 'morphic quantum field' etc. He named it 2 - Point. It has become defined and a concept in the unenlightened mind. Comes with the territory. Thanks so much ToP for explaining it. All that matters really is if it works.

I downloaded the ebook a while ago but have now just begun reading the ebook. I wanted to add 2 links here to this thread because it seems to tie in with the debate going on. Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath students asking him about Tolle's take on Enlightenment

Wow. xabir2005's info has been very helpful. Well...at least I'm glad to know that what I'm going through is ordinary but not permanent. It also helps keep me motivated. I don't know why it helps to hear other people say, "keep on truckin" but it does. How odd. Thank you to everyone who answered. Cheers

It is indeed Reiki. Bartlett confuses the majority of seminar takers because he babbles on and on about how you're manipulating "Morphogenic fields", "quantum fields", "collapsing the energy wave between the 2 points", "going to your heartspace", "time-traveling", etc. But when you research the actual step by step process of 2 Point - when it's broken down - it *is* Reiki energy work that he's teaching. Reiki has evolved well beyond the Japanese originator's original system. I counted no less than 20 different variants of Reiki scattered around the web (some also with modified names - like Quantum Touch, etc). Matrix Energetics is just another one of the many Reiki variants.

After a LOT of heavy digging all over the web - including tons of detailed posts by M.E. seminar takers - I've finally figured it out. 2 pointing = Reiki. The author is just really bad at explaining and won't admit he's teaching everyone Reiki - just with a fancy, Scientific-ized, new name. I guess he couldn't charge as much if he used the more well known term. It's also telling Amazon groups Matrix Energetics with Reiki books. I guess that should've been my first clue to what M.E. really is right there but I didn't pay much attention to it at the time.

I understand what constant cold hands and feet in standard western medicine means (clogged capillaries, poor circulation, etc). However...I'm wondering what TCM has to say about the phenomenon? Since I've begun meditating I particularly notice the coldness in my hands and feet unless outside in the blistering summer heat. Sometimes it even feels as if the meditation is making my hands and especially my feet feel even colder. Although I suppose that could just be due to me paying attention to it more and thus it just seems as if it's colder than usual. Can anyone explain what it might mean TCM-wise? What does coldness in body parts in general mean?

May you be blessed in everything you do. Thank you.

Well if no one else has beat me to it then I confess I would love to take it.

The earth was not always here. Where pray tell do Buddhists and Hindus say where all of us were busy rebirthing out our karma back then? And why do I have no self-evident a priori awareness of this pre-earth karma-induced endless rebirthing? You know...if I had even the tiniest inkling of a priori pre-birth experience it'd make all these arguments about whose ultimate truth is the real truth easier to navigate. I think I'm still chained in Plato's cave....
