*twitch* .... *twitch* "a:" should be followed by a "b:"...but instead it's followed by "second." *twitch* -
Animals can be so sweet at times...when they're not busy being little bastards, hehe. I love it when cats get all comfy on you and start kneading and purring. Can be painful sometimes though.

He's an interesting bloke. He helped Robert Monroe with his early experiments using binaural beats, and has relatively recently come out with a book putting forth a "Grand Unified Theory" based on consciousness. Pretty interesting read, although it's long. Edit: That should be "Theory of Everything." The book's title is "My Big T.O.E.", if I remember correctly.

Interesting stuff! So...if I set up an old building with a vibrational generator creating a standing wave of 19hz...I could make a killing during Halloween with my "real haunted house!" Hmm...I wonder if brainwave entrainment at 19hz would cause increased anxiety/fear response. I'm not likely to test this myself, though. I have enough issues with anxiety as it is!

That be the one. Good song...whole album is solid.

I...I don't know how to feel about that. Kinda crappy, I suppose Sinfest - Dragonland rocks. Are you familiar with Adagio?

I enjoyed the article, thanks for posting! I'll have to give that technique a try...definitely sounds like an easy one to try!

Fascinating! Sort of like a detox process for the planet? The only problem I have with that is the byproducts of our use of these gases, minerals, and oils generally tends to have a deleterious effect to life - like the giant plastic island floating in the ocean, acid rain, etc... And there's deforestation and all that. Still, though...a very interesting point of view. Do you remember who the Shaman was?

Okami is one of my favorite games ever! Beautiful art, original gameplay, and great story! One word: Power.

I agree. I don't think most people want the responsibility, or they feel that their individual contributions won't make a difference either way. And of course there are many who are just plain apathetic. In any case, what can you do? My opinion: be an example, and hope you inspire others to find their personal power.

Interesting! I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about their tactics and the way they operate, but they have supported some good causes before.

Hang on, Anonymous is backing the movement? As in, "We are Legion" Anonymous?

I started reading the article you linked to, interesting premise, I'll have to finish reading it as I can. 10's aren't so bad, I used to be on 12 hour shifts! In the IT world, there's really not a whole lot of caring about how long you spend in front of a screen. At least not in the companies I've worked at. They do however make sure the chairs are ergonomically appropriate for shift lengths As far as following my heart...either I can't hear it properly, or it has no idea what it wants either. Or I suppose, more accurately...the things that my heart seems to want are what almost all spiritual traditions I've read about warn against. I can agree with the environmental aspect...there are problems with my home environment that I've been unable to correct due to lack of time. That's probably contributing heavily to my state of mind.

Wow, those are some really pretty shades of green! Looks awesome, but I wonder what it does to their poor follicles =\

Hahahaha, nice find, Sloppy!

There aren't anywhere near enough people interested in changing their lifestyles to stop pollution and environmental destruction, at least not within any kind of close timeframe. I'm of the opinion that we're still decades away from a mass societal change like that. Barring a cataclysm, of course.

Yup, I've wondered this before too! Unless you can do what Astral suggested (and know with certainty that what you're experiencing is a true representation of the other's perspective), it's something that will always be a mystery. But I think the fact that we can all sit around and point to the same wavelength of light and say "red" has something to be said for it as well. Our individual perception of that wavelength may differ, but our ability to identify the wavelength is the same.

Has this been posted here before? I recall reading something, if not the same, at least very similar. Regardless, it's a cool article, and I thank ya for posting it, Gerard.

My current experience is one of moving between states of motivated interest and nihilistic disinterest. What tends to make my depression worse is thinking about what the hell to do with my life. I have a good career making good money, but it's very stressful and it's not really where my heart is at (I'm a network engineer, so I sit in front of a computer for ten hours a day). However, in attempting to find something more fulfilling to pursue, I run into a block of not knowing what the best move is. The question for me is twofold; there is the question of possibilities and the question of right action. I have far too many interests to pursue in one lifetime, and lack an adequate guidepost for judging which interests would be best to pursue. As I have not really discovered any point or purpose in living, it's difficult for me to make value judgments on appropriate courses of action. Since I do not understand the value or purpose of life, it's common for me to desire death; my unwillingness to harm others prevents me from taking action, but creates a mental landscape of feeling trapped - unable to enjoy existence, and unable to escape from it. As for what helps me, meditation provides a temporary relief, and I'll occasionally experience a period of a few days where I don't get down...but overall my mental state has been in a slow decline.

I think it might have more to do with the area you live in and what the local population is into, as well as what kind of advertising and promotion you were doing for the group. Where do you live? Big city, small town, in between, or Bumfuk, Egypt? What kind of promotion/advertising were you doing to try to get interest in the group?

A truly sad yet somehow epic tale.

Hmm, interesting article. Shame that there aren't any teachers in my area. I was managing my depression really well for awhile, but it's been getting steadily worse lately. I have my eyes set on Ya Mu's Stillness-Movement, though. Just gotta wait for a stateside workshop next year when I can get some time off from work to go. Hopefully I'll still care enough to go by then, hehehe.

I like certain shades of green hair on attractive women. I never dye my hair. If that hair color occurred naturally it might influence my liking of it, as well as the number of people accidentally decapitated in landscaping accidents. Impossible to know for sure.
