I've never met a spirit guide before, that I know of. Definitely never communicated consciously with one. Would be an interesting experience.

Thoughts on Franz Bardon's System
Cat Pillar replied to thelerner's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
I remember you from Robert Bruce's forums, Aunt Clair. Didn't know you had an account here, too. Nice to see you. (I was Ouroboros there.) -
You don't think I'll learn anything after a few years? I must seem terribly slow... j/k Maybe you're right, though. There's not much intellectual about what I'm doing. It's all experiential.

I'm with this guy. I could write a book about spiritual stuff, but it'd be a bunch of bs. Maybe after I've been practicing for a few more years, I might be able to scrape together an article for ya.

Theologian says China to have largest Christian population

Excellent post, Viator. -
Listening to some of the more evil stuff can start to negatively affect you if it's all you listen to. Speaking from experience. Balance is the key.

Christian Black Metal: I used to play in a black metal band. Still enjoy a lot of the music, but not much into the scene now. There are a lot of people in the scene who do it for the fun, but there is a lot of hate and negative energy involved too. As always, depends on the people. I may start another black metal project at some point. You don't have to be a hater to make intense music. Edit: I listened to Christian metal long before any "secular" bands. Unfortunately, the gems are few and far between as far as high quality music (maybe that's changed) on the Christian side. Extol and Lengsel were two of the best.

Welcome to the site! Meetup groups do sound like fun. I'm in Texas, though.

Great activity to keep the family together! Alchemy is a fascinating subject - have you studied mostly western alchemy? Living life is a pretty big practice in and of itself. I was just curious if you had any "formal" cultivation practices. You'll be exposed to a LOT of different practices on this forum, Taoist and otherwise. All sorts of practitioners post here.

Welcome, zarkers! The actual Mo Pai schools are closed to non-Chinese (or is just Westerners? can't remember). There are a few posters here who are actively on the lookout for manuals and information on the practices, but it's a tough nut to crack. It's not the only good system out there, especially depending on what exactly you're looking for out of your practices.

Welcome to the site, from a fellow Jing Dong Gong practitioner! I practice the Stillness-Movement system, and have only been practicing for a little over a month. I look forward to seeing your posts!

Welcome to the site, Sabina! What are some of your practices? On a side note, SCA is something I've always been interested in but never had much time for. I love Renaissance Festivals though, and work as an apprentice leathersmith for a shop at one.

Every day for me. How much really varies. Some days I'll get 90 minutes dedicated practice, and on top of that have 8 hours of focus on dantien with tongue to roof of mouth while I'm working. Other days I'll barely get 20 minutes. I've missed two or three days on dedicated practice since I started (a little over a month ago), and none of them in a row. Longer is always better, for me. The longer sessions go deeper, there's greater benefit, and it's easier to pick it up again the next day after a long session.

Interesting. I've never heard an energetic explanation for that before. Makes sense.

Gift of Tao and Stillness movement meditation
Cat Pillar replied to Jedi777's topic in Systems and Teachers of
I'm really interested in bagua myself and want to start learning. I asked Michael about this at the workshop I attended, and essentially it's fine if you want to learn some IMA, but if you go to workshop and start in S-M, wait until AFTER the first 100 days to start with anything else. I'm still in my first 100 days, so the only practice I'm doing is S-M. -
Gift of Tao and Stillness movement meditation

I'm still a newbie with the system, but even in a short time I've noticed a lot of mental and emotional blockages being released, a subtle increase in overall energy level, and a very subtle increase in sensitivity. I'm still in the first 100 days. -

Free Online University Course (MOOC) on Psychology and Mysticism

Interesting! I might sign up for that just for kicks. -
I think if "ki blasts" were capable of producing fireballs and explosions the military would already have units dedicated to abusing it. We'd at least have one or two sorcerer-tyrants running around proclaiming themselves "god." Maybe chi is capable of such things, but if it is it's probably so impractical that practicing towards that goal would be completely pointless. If you're bent on crusading against evil, keep this in mind - the more powerful you are, the easier it is to become what you fight against.

The biggest threat to your freedom of speech that you probably never heard of!

Wonderful. Just what we need, more Big Brother. Then again...not really surprising either. A logical next step for those terrified children in power. -
Yup. Don't always have that feeling, but have had it before.

Good luck to you as well. I usually enjoy reading your posts, so I'll miss your presence on the forums.

Thanks for posting that, Kempomaster...I was wondering how that event was going to go for you. I look forward to the report on the 3 healing demos.
