Hi OldGreen I believe: Sometimes life chooses the jobs, relationships, situations etc. for us. (This is until we have sufficiently clean Karma to realise we have exactly chosen what we are in). Anyway, I think the best meditation and learning happens while we are with people. Your boss is rude, thank her she's helping crush your ego. Or a friend is childlike, thank him he is helping you be patient. Someone has a lot of anger, you are then expected to just stand firm on the ground and let the person vent. You don't have a big car?! Then deal with the greed within. You know what I mean.. so much learning in the world! A lot of spiritual growth IMO happens when we are with people. And when we are sufficiently evolved, a cave somewhere is waiting for us so we can learn higher truths and live super consciously. Off course after all the learning in the cave - it demands we go back to the world (people) and then give.

Hi Mizu, I'm aiming for liberation because I know of nothing else which attracts me more. I like to clean my insides of ego, impatience etc. ...reach that stage of perfection within. If you find something else attractive, go for it. Get into meditation when it naturally calls you. Until then be careful not to care about healing, or Samadhi. The end result: After years (or lifetimes) of practice you might achieve nothing or everything. 'Nothing' is more likely.

Are we actually better off today, because of technology?
Adishakti replied to strawdog65's topic in General Discussion
A few years back discussion steered towards how Earth is ready for new Technology. One of my friend's spiritual family member is associated with the World Brotherhood Union Mevlana Supreme Foundation, Turkey. She use to tell us how a lot of technology is available to us now because we are progressing as a specie. So more evolved the specie, the more technologically advanced it is. (Like the movie Matrix.) Sometimes when we are doing spiritual practices in a huge group we vibrate at a higher dimension and how beings from other dimensions can relate to us during those moments. She also said Beings existing on Jupiter are extremely technologically advanced, and how a lot of these souls have taken birth on "classroom" Earth to learn about emotions and relationships. These human beings don't know how to work well with emotions, failed relationships, fascinated with technology, stuff like that. Yogi Bhajan said stuff to similar effect. Example. "Mars is over-populated. The rate of production and sensuality is so heavy, and the beings--they grow so fast that they have to go and make war on all the other planets. There are beings on Jupiter. There is a hierarchy. Their energy and our energy inter-change in the astral body and it is highly effective." I'm sorry, my post might lack coherency. I quickly shared what I remembered. Maybe we are suppose to have all this technology at this point in our collective Karma? Does anyone have any thoughts to share on this, particularly about the relation between evolution and technology? Has anyone heard stuff similar to what I've typed above? -
Organic Farming: The revolution of the future.

Try to start early before the sun is out. I've created a landscape of succulents, ideal for hot weather and doesn't require much water or care. Grow them in waste tyres or shoes. Alamanda can be grown around the trellis, which will give you lots of bright yellow or purple flowers. I've been trying to create something with waste tyres and thought I'll share this bit. (I just googled for some image, it's attached.) Oh ya, make bird feeders and attach water containers. Make a butterfly bed (put some rock salt). All this will make your plants grow beautifully. I've recently started putting out waste fruits and veggies in a tray. It attracts fruit flies and then some birds come around to eat these fruit fly. Creates this small happy ecosystem, excites me immensely. Ok, back to work. Have a uber day you. -
You certainly are. What's your name?

But you just complicated it. I like your response, goldisheavy. I also like this quote: We're trapped in linguistic constructs.. all that is is metaphor said R. A . Wilson You?

Water made the Grand Canyon! As for Ideas: There's nothing you can say that hasn't already been said. There's nothing you can know that isn't known. Nothing you can see that isn't shown. Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be. It's easy.

A poem which was found after Kenji Miyazawa 's death. The author had Nam Myoho Renge Kyo written on all pages and a single page in between contained this poem. My sister (who speaks Japanese) almost cried when she told me about this. I guess it's the way the poem was hidden among those strong vibrations of Nam Myoho Renge Kyo which makes it so poignant. Just wanted to share it. ι¨γγ’γγ±γΊ ι’¨γγ’γγ±γΊ ιͺγγ’ε€γζγ΅γγ’γγ±γ δΈε€«γγ«γ©γγ²γ’γ ζ Ύγγγ― ζ±Ίγ·γηγ©γΊ γ€γγ’γ·γ γ«γγ―γ©γγγ€γ« δΈζ₯γηη±³εεγ ε³εγε°γ·γιθγ²γΏγ γ’γ©γ¦γ«γ³γγ² γΈγγ³γ²γ«γ³γΈγ§γ¦γε ₯γ¬γΊγ γ¨γ―γγγγ·γ―γ«γͺ γ½γ·γγ―γΉγ¬γΊ ιεγζΎγζγθγ ε°γ΅γθ±γγγε°ε±γγ€γ ζ±γη ζ°γεδΎγ’γ¬γ θ‘γγηη γ·γγ€γͺ θ₯Ώγγγ«γ¬γΏζ―γ’γ¬γ θ‘γγγ½γ稲γζγ²θ² γ εγζ»γγ½γ¦γδΊΊγ’γ¬γ θ‘γγγ³γ―γ¬γ©γγ―γγ’γ€γ€γγ€γ€ εγγ±γ³γ«γ€γ½γ·γ§γ¦γ¬γ’γ¬γ γγγ©γγ€γ«γ©γ€γ‘γγγ€γ€ γγγͺγγγγγγγγ²γγ¬γ· γ΅γ γ΅γγγγγͺγγͺγγ’γ«γ γγ³γγγγ―γγγ¦γγ¨γγ¬ γγ‘γ©γ¬γ’γ»γΊ γ―γγ’γ΅γ¬γΊ γ½γ¦γ€γ¦γ’γγ γ―γΏγ·γγγͺγΏγ€ ame ni mo makezu kaze ni mo makezu yuki ni mo natsu no atsusa ni mo makenu jΕbu na karada wo mochi yoku wa naku kesshite ikarazu itsu mo shizuka ni waratte iru ichi nichi ni genmai yon gΕ to miso to sukoshi no yasai wo tabe arayuru koto wo jibun wo kanjΕ ni irezu ni yoku mikiki shi wakari soshite wasurezu nohara no matsu no hayashi no kage no chiisa na kayabuki no koya ni ite higashi ni byΕki no kodomo areba itte kanbyΕ shite yari nishi ni tsukareta haha areba itte sono ine no taba wo oi minami ni shinisΕ na hito areba itte kowagaranakute mo ii to ii kita ni kenka ya soshΕ ga areba tsumaranai kara yamero to ii hideri no toki wa namida wo nagashi samusa no natsu wa oro-oro aruki minna ni deku-no-bΕ to yobare homerare mo sezu ku ni mo sarezu sΕ iu mono ni watashi wa naritai not losing to the rain not losing to the wind not losing to the snow nor to summer's heat with a strong body unfettered by desire never losing temper cultivating a quiet joy every day four bowls of brown rice miso and some vegetables to eat in everything count yourself last and put others before you watching and listening, and understanding and never forgetting in the shade of the woods of the pines of the fields being in a little thatched hut if there is a sick child to the east going and nursing over them if there is a tired mother to the west going and shouldering her sheaf of rice if there is someone near death to the south going and saying there's no need to be afraid if there is a quarrel or a lawsuit to the north telling them to leave off with such waste when there's drought, shedding tears of sympathy when the summer's cold, wandering upset called a nobody by everyone without being praised without being blamed such a person I want to become

Are we actually better off today, because of technology?
Adishakti replied to strawdog65's topic in General Discussion
There's this interesting bit I remember. Pregnant women go to the farm, just like everyday, sickle in hand, squatting and harvesting the grain. The baby decided to come out, they mother let it. She cut the umbilical cord, wrapped the child, wrapped the days harvest and walked towards her house. This was during a time when connection with the soil and self was not some beaten to death existential discussion. Technology brings fear. We know what fear does. -
I think Neo got enlightened in this scene:

Everything in nature is alive. Take a look inside your artificial house. You live in a coffin.
Adishakti replied to InfinityTruth's topic in General Discussion
InfinityTruth, lovely post. But your house is bursting with a lot of Energy too. And the house takes it's Energy from you. You give it love, then the dead bookshelf made of wood will soak love and radiate love. Off course you can't replicate the rawness of Nature, but houses and things which are seemingly dead are very, very alive too. -
Are there girlfriends in the 5th dimension?
Adishakti replied to Applecart's topic in General Discussion
Heheh, completely wrong Otis! I prefer guys who have their two feet on Earth. I can do all the ascending for the two of us, he can focus on bringing the money. -
Hi thelearner, such lovely children. Were you into cultivating the spirit when you had them? Also, what is the picture? I've always been curious - are you around termite mounds looking/photographing something? I realised that souls don't age when someone told me that I was a new soul. I didn't feel anything, maybe felt a little like a child who had to start over from standard one. Her reason was that old souls don't have delicate bodies. They have to be somewhat huge, "the container needs to be strong so it can take the force of Kundalini," she said. I realised this was coming from else where so didn't respond. Or maybe she had a point I thought later. I just focused on making the container strong. Hi strawdog65, what I do believe is in evolving souls. Sometimes if external situations don't allow you to grow in a certain lifetime - all the experiences from past life times can 'feel' useless. When someone evolved has a karma to finish with someone - the situation could either take them to a higher evolved consciousness or if they are not able to deal with it - then a regressed consciousness or maybe more likely a plateau. Sometimes, there is just no telling. As I write this I also realise the limitations of what I'm saying. We can speculate and if we are lucky to live longer (and wiser) we might relaise how far of the mark we probably have been.
-
I used to believe I was a 'old' soul too, until I realised a 'soul' doesn't age. It doesn't have a male-female form either and hence waiting for ones 'soul-mate' could also be erroneous. Classifying someone as a new or an old soul involves our ego. I might be wrong, but then again that's my belief at the moment.

Should I go to this year's Rainbow Gathering

I've experienced something which felt like what this word 'enlightenment' could mean to me. They come as few, rare, unexpected, moments. Those moments gave me a glimpse of what full-time awareness could mean, or what I should aspire towards. I don't know if I'll be able to put in words but I'll try. What I felt was this: I knew exactly why I did - what I did, and what it could mean on a bigger canvas. My action was like a single calligraphy stroke but I could envision the whole picture in the larger scheme of things. And at that moment I felt no one or no thing was right or wrong, it all felt perfect. That freaking moment just felt so terribly perfect that it wanted to make me cry for all those times in future when I'm going to live in unawareness, judgment and smallness. It's so unfair that these moments last only a few minutes. Sometimes seconds. And they are so few and far between.

There's an interesting bit where Neem Karoli Baba consumed all the trippy pills (maybe LSD, not sure) and nothing happened to him. Ram Dass and Krishna Das then heard him say, 'It's all inside, you don't need stuff like this.' This guy sounds pretty convincing selling his "best" Ayahuasca. Amazon, here I come!

I'm guessing the most effective one is marrying and having children. Lots of physical sports, working with soil, etc. pretty much grounds you. Oh yes, Yoga also. For sitting meditation you could imagine roots growing down from your feet to the center of the earth. You'll find lots of stuff like this on youtube.

Hi The Way is Virtue. Bears are the same everywhere, require little provocation. I guess it's best for the uninitiated to keep out of their territory or learn basic survival techniques, Eg; know which trees they prefer, or keep silent while walking, or look for honey combs, recognizing pug marks, or learn the best way to run if one encounters them. I can't say much but people should do a basic Naturalist course. Cougars are harmless, in that their will avoid humans if they can first, but off course one should avoid pushing their luck. Also another good bit about mosquitoes lately has been every time I need to wake up early without an alarm, I sure have some of them doing the job, or sometimes when I'm in middle of some discussion a mosquito might come in the way and remind me it's a good time to end a certain conversation. It sure does sound preposterous, but it's fun.
