  1. What is the Ego?

A friend once told me that Enlightenment does not mean you are free of Ego forever. It requires daily cleaning. Much like cleaning the house everyday. Can we also that it's Ego that keep us on Planet Earth? Maybe an essential prerequisite to be able to stay on this Planet? (Unless of course we are highly evolved and are clear that we are here to help others). Does this make sense?
  2. Your vote for the most emotionally intense films?

Love Story! Haunting soundtrack by Francis Lai. A Short Film about Killing - Absolutely gut wrenching. Yes, American Beauty is lovely. David Lynch's Blue Velvet Kubrick's A Clockwork Most of Erich Rohemrs films, they are subtle Can never get enough of Linklater's Before Sunrise and After Sunset. Wong Kar Wai's In the Mood for Love. Ray's Pather Panchali (Song of the Road). Keep lots of tissues handy. The list is endless
  3. Finders Keepers Loosers Weepers/Seekers

You are right Marblehead. I would accept the money because it's a gift from the Universe. And I would be even more glad to give it if someone asked me for it. It's an even bigger blessing for me to be able to give. However answering z00se's Karma question. Yes, you build Karma - not by not returning the money but by simply feeling the "guilt" emotion. You build Karma by giving the money. Positive Karma. Bad luck in the future? - Maybe, if you carry guilt around, it's a negative emotion and it will maybe then attract similar -ve situations. See if you can read this book. The Law of Karma by Robert E. Svoboda. Interesting. I experience similar situations all the time. I just think my Guardian angel is saying hello to me by these small tokens, and feel really grateful and loved.
  4. Finders Keepers Loosers Weepers/Seekers

I think you would have reached the point of non-dualism if you left the money where it was and didn't give too much thought to it.
  5. The Law of Attraction

Check the book by Esther and Jerry Hicks titled 'The law of attraction'. Pretty good. Kinda explains the process of how Law of attraction comes about through the 'Law of Deliberate Intent' , the 'Law of Allowing' and another one about attracting things moment by moment - I forget what this was called. They have been writing this stuff for a long time now, way before The Secret was out.
  6. Taoist things to do

    Lovely :-) Can we say 1, 2, 3 led to 4, 5, 6? :-)
  7. The Sorcerers' Crossing: A Woman's Journey

Hi Cat, "I believe that what we think of sex when we are little is really key to our sexual karma and is what we have to work with in this life." This bit you wrote seems pretty interesting. Can you explain this a little more in detail? Thanks in advance Adishakti
  8. How to keep warm/cool

Everything! :-) I'll share what I do. I take cold showers very early in the morning, say 4.30AM. Wear white cotton clothes and cover my head with a soft cotton cloth. Keep my feet and lower body wrapped in a shawl on colder days. And sit down to meditate. I do simple rhythmic breathing. Followed by Vipassana meditation. I don't feel any less colder during the day, but I sure do feel alive. Try it for 41 days. God bless Adishakti
  9. Making my presence known!

Hello all I came across Tao Bums thanks to Castaneda. All you members sound so wise and seem so keen to share what you know, I took an instant liking. I figured I did like to come back to it again, and again. I might not have much to say, partly because of the feeling I have that when something is put down in words it looses its essence. Nevertheless, I'll be a good audience, I promise.
  10. Making my presence known!

Danke, Devoid. I discovered some great Japanese poets because they are listed in the Interests section of some of the members. Hmmm, neat!
