And for good reasons. You'll hardly ever come across any Puma and maybe you could count on your ten fingers a few bear sightings, given that we have killed a lot of our wildlife. I wish we had done that to the mosquitoes. Hehe.

I was sitting with a friend outdoors. I noticed no mosquitoes bit her, and I had about a dozen biting me. She noticed this too and generally slipped few words about making the aura stronger and how because ones mind was wandering the mosquitoes were bringing it 'back'. It's been a year since and I notice lesser mosquitoes bite me esp. when I sit with people who don't cultivate. Now I take mosquitoes as someone who help me bring my attention back to the body and all that. Someone else on the forum made a comment about how building yang helps in keeping the mosquitoes at bay. This does make some kind of sense, although I can't explain the how of it.

Tai Chi, Taoist Meditation and Psychosomatic issues

Since birth? Yes, he's lovely. I've been blessed with some living Gurus finding me (maybe subconsciously I asked for them) , but I don't hold on to any (may be it's my lack of better judgment). I think I'm going Hermann Hesse's Siddhartha way and I can't help but think am doing something completely wrong. However, I can imagine how lovely it would be to be held by a Guru. I guess I'm a little off tangent, but thank you for the response, Vajrahridaya. -

Someone was telling me about 2010 which corresponds to the to fire element and we saw lots of fire related damage (which still continues). Could there be some answer in the numerology of 2011? In number 11 or in 2+1+1 = 4?

Organic Farming: The revolution of the future.
Adishakti replied to Harmonious Emptiness's topic in General Discussion
What do I say, well the scene looks pretty bad, isn't it? And it is. But we in the urban areas have no clue about it. Why? Callousness. And right now the whole world seems to be plagued by it. -
How about just sitting with your backs against each other? Spines touching. Two spines become one. See how you want to take it from there. Maybe just breathe into it, or take your attention to Chakras. I guess this spine touching meditation has some significance, maybe about keeping the relationship strong or something. Edit, I don't think there are any dangers, if this is a significant person in your life then meditation will just make the relationship more special. But the danger is if you guys are not meant to be together the fall-out will happen way sooner. Again, I might be completely wrong.

Organic Farming: The revolution of the future.
Adishakti replied to Harmonious Emptiness's topic in General Discussion
Check this link http://www.navadarshanam.org/mission.html I go here often. They are self-sufficient community of sorts. Organic farming main focus. Solar energy, wind energy all harnessed. A good working business model. So much more about them, see the link, you might like it. Re the food for all on Earth. Yes, there is enough and more even if some people choose to have acres and acres of grass. I guess the issues are deeper, the conspiracy theory, greed of the few, power.. all that comes in. And what do we know, maybe the gods want it this way for a while so we all see the unfairness and are motivated to cultivate our spirits. I don't know whats unfair anymore, and as Fukuoka says "Humanity knows nothing at all, there is no intrinsic value in anything, and every action is a futile meaningless effort." Hmmm. -
different wedding practices around the world?

Come to India, you'll find a whole menagerie, and it can get pretty close to 'jumping and broom handle' (what is that by the way?). -
Such a lovely write-up. Thanks for sharing.

Please help me to teach my kids about the power of thought
Adishakti replied to ejr1069's topic in General Discussion
Yes, definitely. But it's how you do it. Having them repeat something would not be so much fun. I think it's more in the language - the words - we use in conversation at home that will allow a child to naturally integrate with positivity. It also depends on what personal belief and thoughts that parents believe in – in their mind. Children just pick on that kind on energy. I also believe in teaching them through angels and fairies. Tinker bell movies, the last mimzy, finding nemo etc. - is a good time to slip some heavy knowledge to them. It will make them believe it was wholly their idea. Oh yes have them colour, draw, paint, mandalas and other ‘ideas’ you want to reinforce in them. Put up images, paintings etc of what you want to convey. All that subtle stuff will do the trick better, I think. -
Does the shaman initiate get beat up repeatedly?
Adishakti replied to ejr1069's topic in General Discussion
I think a person who is smiling and happy all the time also get this treatment, not nearly as bad but sometimes pretty close. name='ejr1069' date='12 May 2011 - 04:03 AM' timestamp='1305153229' post='259320'] I am wondering if a shaman initiate gets spiritually beat up, unfairly judged, cast in a bad light repeatedly while not being recognized for the good deeds they do. Thoughts? -
That's you in the Video?! Extremely bold, Otis! I think you just thought me how to meet my fears - with a wink and a smile.

Every time I feel hate or anger I do two things: One is to tell myself I'm not the anger or the hate and let them stay with me as long as they want to. Two I try to experience just the feeling free-of-any-story or drama associated with it. The process felt slow, but in about a years time I could feel I had grown to be a more expansive person. You'll like this video.

I remember a friend telling me this and I think I also read it somewhere. Any house where emotions are all over the place face water leakage, and houses where emotions are not expressed you can notice clogged pipes and stuff. True stuff this.

Less wandering, more like rapping.

Thanks Manitou, I hope you read it. I deliberately kept the subject like boring. Surprised that some of the bums actually did read it. Nice

Yeah I loved it too when I first heard it. The same song is sung by Satnam Kaur and Guruganesh Singh. I like this rendition more. Check it out. Re the effect: A person or a group brings its energy, so I guess the experience can be different. A couple of years back I preferred group singing. I felt so energized by it. Now, I feel powerful vibrations when I'm sitting by myself and play music on the system. I like this more. So I guess it's all about oneself. These last few days I'm trying to stay away from music. My goal: To feel that energy without plugging into music.
