Laozi is my grandpa, he smiles at me everyday. Laozi is my teacher, he teaches me new things everyday. Laozi is my friend, he is always with me in playful times and hardships. He laughs with me and at me at unexpected times. Laozi is my grandpa, he smiles with me everday.

Do you use precious gems for meditation or opening chakras?
XieJia replied to cmpunk50's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I use gems all the time. I worship them, revere them, take refuge in them. Take them with me during the day. And no one can part me from it when I am alive. You cant buy it either. The Triple Gems Sincerity in Heart, Mind and Body. -

Dear Meow, Hope you are well, and still freshly to get what you seek. From what I read this whole thread, many people here are trying to share their experience with entering the path with you. All is good. If you follow any of them, you should arrive at the Knowledge you desired. There's much different path offer here, using the main motorway, by the seaside, in and out of forest and beyond the desert. All is good. Although the Daoist here, have a funny sense of humors. However let me borrow an analogy from Hua Hu Ching, All of these are prescriptions not the medicine. Doctor Jeff, Doctor Ambrose, Doctor K and any others give good prescriptions and supplements. Let me leave you with another thing: A Cup of Tea

Dear Meow, As your username is related to Cats; I want to recommend this text: http://da2el.wordpress.com/2010/05/04/story-neko-no-myojutsu-mysterious-technique-of-the-cat/ It's about ultimate form of technique, the technique of no-relying on anything. Have a read with a open mind and tell us what you think. Knowledge is similar to that of technique. Wish you good luck in your pursuit. -XieJia

Self-actualizing of the foolery The fruits of questions and answers. Maybe we should only ask and don't answer.

The Dao is free but does it have will. For things under Heaven, they have function but does it have fate? The Free, The Will, The Fated... What a concept...

@Sinfest; is your display picture a nekomata? @Understanding Hey Understanding - that actually sounds nice. What does it means to understand? What does it means to feel? Do you feel first or understand first?

lol, I am not sure about this but maybe this is how your prayer got answered. There's something along what you said in the Vimalakriti Sutra "Vimalakirti replied, "Manjusri, a bodhisattva shouldregard all livings beings as a wise man regards the reflection of the moon inwater or as magicians regard men created by magic. He should regard them asbeing like a face in a mirror; like the water of a mirage; like the sound of anecho; like a mass of clouds in the sky; like the previous moment of a ball offoam; like the appearance and disappearance of a bubble of water; like the coreof a plantain tree; like a flash of lightning; like the fifth great element;like the seventh sense-medium; like the appearance of matter in an immaterialrealm; like a sprout from a rotten seed; like a tortoise-hair coat; like thefun of games for one who wishes to die; like the egoistic views of astream-winner; like a third rebirth of a once-returner; like the descent of anonreturner into a womb; like the existence of desire, hatred, and folly in asaint; like thoughts of avarice, immorality, wickedness, and hostility in abodhisattva who has attained tolerance; like the instincts of passions in aTathagata; like the perception of color in one blind from birth; like theinhalation and exhalation of an ascetic absorbed in the meditation ofcessation; like the track of a bird in the sky; like the erection of a eunuch;like the pregnancy of a barren woman; like the unproduced passions of anemanated incarnation of the Tathagata; like dream-visions seen after waking;like the passions of one who is free of conceptualizations; like fire burningwithout fuel; like the reincarnation of one who has attained ultimateliberation." @Meow There are traps that are unavoidable, there are traps that are avoidable. However they are not useless. As Marblehead stated before. When we people said Truth, we want to know its real nature. By pursuing it, we pick something up and neglect the other. By picking something up, neglecting the other thing is also there. by we picking up only what we think is natural and throwing away what we think is not? If so, we will always see only one side but not the other that we throw away. This is what we called the discriminating knowledge, the discriminating mind. the worldly knowledges are like this. lets ponder on this for just abit.

Primary and Secondary Enlightenment?
XieJia replied to Harmonious Emptiness's topic in Buddhist Discussion
1 + 1 = 2? 2 - 2 = 0? 0 = 0 ? ...? ..? .? ? @Informer ^^ @Cowtao ^^ @H.E. ^^ @Xabir ^^ Bringing another perspective from another language... A monk asked Baso, "Why do you teach that Mind is Buddha?" Baso replied, "To stop a baby's crying." The monk asked, "What is it like when the baby stops crying?" Baso answered, "No Mind, no Buddha." -Mumonkan -
