A tiara would be more comfortable, wouldnt it.

I am just so not a fan of either the portentous nor the stodgy sanctimony. What is this thread all about?! If it were cryptic it might be of small interest. It doesnt reach that status. Is there a sub script covertly starting on taobums in which we think up new lines for fortune cookies? If so lets just start a thread on it and be done with it. I'll start: A stitch in time prevents the butt ventilation.

This does rather happen when people write very long posts. Internet attention span often is quite short. Being concise is a great art.

hello ninpo. that point is called 'bubbling well' as well as "yongquan" so it sounds as though you are feeling yours bubbling at the moment. it could mean your energy is very full, simply. More likely you have some groovy socks on at the moment, and they and your footsole are getting it on down there and are mildly exhibitionistic.

Oh! That's great about the parents thing, congratulations on that one. If we could see our cloaks I bet they aint the prettiest of items., probably covered in mud and old sandwich crusts... so long as we can dance without tripping over them we should be ok. The one day they will disintegrate! love to you, susan. xxx

oh yeh! Sometimes it would taste of the best freakin tacos. Other times, of spaghetti vongole. I like it, and I want that ice cream.

I remember asking my Sifu when I first learned qigong and he was suggested I should teach, and I was coming up with 101 possible problems students could bring to practise, and wanted to know the 101 answers I should have ready to deal with all their potential issues. To each scenario I could envisage he offered just the one solution : "they must relax" It is such an art. Nice one NeiChuan.

Fab question, phore! Want to hear your answer! maybeeeee, it'd be an ice cream that makes you disapear and laugh as it hits your tongue. It'd taste of cosmic laughter, which must be... caramel sometimes mango sometimes maple sometimes lemons!

Crumbs! ( that's an English exclamation like Zut Alors! would be in French.. I cant right now think of a USA equivalent.. dang! is an approximation maybe.. ) I like the 'empty calories' analogy. Beginning to think is good. Continuing to do so is even better... One thing is, that we all have a mental invisibility cloak which we use to shield us from stuff that doesnt fit into our current frameworks if it's too uncomfortable...just cant see what we are looking at, to so many degrees that I spend a huge amount of time cleaning my spectacles. The first thing ever I felt, after the first time I meditated was "It's like my vision has been washed." and I meant my perception, my ability to perceive. Suddenly more focused and clear. A process. I so love being around people who have much clearer vision than I. Yet my invisibility cloak goes cranking into action without any conscious spell cast by me. heh. Time is teaching me, and I'm heading toward death. Inexorably! What nutsville it all is. (TheJourney.. apologies for wandering about in your thread, speaking of ice cream and spectacles.)

Why Not Use those Martial Arts and Qigong to be.... A SUPERHERO!
三江源 replied to forestofclarity's topic in General Discussion
The guys I know who were interested in, and had the drive for becoming a ninja and then developed into wizardry are not the types who would frequent taobums. They moved toward shaolin and kung fu/martial arts and worked hard to become inner students. Their way to neigung was via wanting to learn how to get an iron body. How about trying more active, less discursive places for marketing? -
Yep! Incredible aint it. It just goes on and on.

I also recoil from these. Trite and empty wisdoms... yeeuuuch. However. There is a big market for such stuffs, many people find them comforting. I'd not be thrilled to see the board liberally sprinkled with such dim offerings. But what to do, when so many people take that for nutrition? I have to assume it is food, for those that eat it. So many times I have assumed other people truly have the nutrition they say they have, only to find that by my standards they are eating sawdust. One persons sawdust is another persons HagenDaaz. Bizzare as it seems sometimes.

ha, Yes. It's a pleasure to agree with you about your number one tool. I am a fan of pleasure too, transformative in itself if taken deeply enough into the self. Unfortunately not everyone can access pleasure greatly, some barely at all,due to blockages. Bioenergetics is not necessarily painful.. but this really depends on how armoured someone is. I used to think that love could solve everything, that falling in love was the best thing that could happen to anyone, that it would cure all ailments. Now I see that Love itself is a path of great learning and we dont just 'know' how to Love without stumbling and falling and getting hurt, and that all manner of issues block pleasure receptors and even an open heart under challenge can be as erratic as old elevator doors. Melting through rigidity.. again, and again, and again.. But yes, I applaud your blazoning of pleasure and open heart as the way forward. I'm with you totally. I still think that love can solve everything, but now I am less heroic in my attitude about it. Strong shoes and appropriate hat needed, a hip flask for emergencies, and of course a torch and some chocolate.

Samuel, are you in Wales, in the UK? If so, Barry Spendlove is accessible to you. He is in Colwyn, I believe. He is a Healing Tao instructor and does regular courses for beginners. Google HealingTaoBritain to find him.

Well, alchemy is about overcoming your astrology, so for practitioners it may be that you find what I find, which is that the 'map' that astrology gives is outmoded: it shows what you came in with, but given the level of transformation one can effect, it seems fairly redundant information, depending on your level of self awareness and development, I guess. It may be more of interest to non self transformational types. I used to study western astrology and in particular psychological astrology a la Liz Green, the Jungian analyst. People found it helpful in just the way that you are describing: to show them the archetypes that they are working with. The predictive astrology will show planetary movements and trends coming up and how they relate to your particular chart aspects. So again, you need to be able to interpret the 'lay persons' reading, so that it applies to you personally, bearing in mind what evolution you have effected. (I have had a few taoist/chinese charts done and found the same thing applies.) But yes, as Sloppy says, if he's doing it for free or not a lot of $, then give it a look, it may throw up a pointer or two. And so would the I Ching, or your dreams..

Yes, I think I get the idea of your perception of him, thanks. As I see it, V gets questioned or challenged a good deal on essentially the same issues, and then he is in a position of regular reiteration. Amazing stamina you guys have, for the ongoing confrontation. I was hoping you might share what the benefits of your regular interactions with him have been for you. The accusations and repudiations appear to me at least to be quite repetetive between the two of you, and to me, a casual observer, it all seems pretty circular.. possibly heading toward the turgid. And yet it continues. So I hope there is some profit in there somewhere.. some increased clarity or renewed vigour for practise.. or if not, then .. well, I'd be interested to know what the benefit of the horn locking has been , and if you envision a never ending cycle of conflict, or an eventual "drop it" treaty..
-
Ah good. So you dont find V's writing complicated either. Fine. Anyhow, I hope that the regular interchange you have with V is working out well for you. I see you frequently in what looks like combat mode with his posts, and I wonder if you would share with us what is the positive side of the dialogue for you. I assume there is a pay off in it for you to be so persistent.

Resonating with this one, yet in the West and on a message board... I like the "..." idea"!

In response to the last three posts... Dont we love paradox. Nice conversation within a conversation.

Really, Ralis? You dont understand V's posts? I am dumbfounded in that case as to why you persist in reading them and arguing with them! I can only hope that it is fun for you and furthers your clarity somehow.

Hey, Thankyou, Friend. I appreciate.

Hi Syk. I just became aware of your post, thankyou for asking me my opinion. I dont actually read all the threads here, so feel free to pm me if you wish to invite me to a discussion in future and I wont be so late in my arrival. There are a number of posters here who appreciate V's posts, de_paradise and joeblast are two that immediately come to mind. Neither of them strike me even remotely as men who are "impressed" by articulacy. If you read their posts you will see how very intelligent and articulate they both are. There are of course other friends of V here too. I'm sure if you wish to ask them to help you understand why they are able to appreciate V, they will share their responses, also. Sometimes I notice posters here appearing to enjoy another poster that I may find pedestrian or just plain overcooked and chewy.. everybody appreciates whatever they are ready for at any given time. I personally find it not quite good taste to discuss a poster as if they werent here, on a public board, so I must apologise to V - if you read this< V! Anyway, Syk, that's me done. There's no point in me writing about how refreshing I find V's hard line attitude to the Ultimate.. it's here on the board for all to see. Good Luck, and apologies for my late response.
