Insatiable urge for stimulation in the evening
三江源 replied to FreeTheStig's topic in General Discussion
Hi there. My guess is that your avatar is a picture of what would sort your evening restlessness. -
Hi TheJourney. I think people do understand what you are getting at. And are just playing with it and asking you to go deeper. But actually if you just had an epiphany, and came here to celebrate and instead got a bit of a let down, you had a little lesson in What Happens When you Open the Oven Too Soon. Your insight may not be as cooked as it would be if you kept the oven closed for longer. Those in the business of transformation often keep their vessels closed while in process, to nurture the young flame against harsh winds so that what's cooking can mature. Alternatively, you could get cooked further by the heat you experience here, if you see this place as a vessel which can cook your epiphany into something durable. ~either way,Happy end of 2010.

I just recalled that here in the UK there used to be a biscuit company called "Peak Freans" They obviously spelled their name wrong!
-
Freenes! Would be a great name for a biscuit.

Great, ego's are for fun. It's when they get elephantine that the furniture gets broken. Thought that's not the right metaphor cos broken furniture isnt that important anyway unless you are too old to sit on the floor and stuff.
-
It would be a common path to take at this point to deny the validity of the concept of the ego, The Journey. You could say it's just a 'meme', then you dont have to deal with ego at all within conversation or logic.. just say PAH , to it. ego, what ego.. it doesnt even exist! show me it!! ah ha, ze fun we haff. it reminds me of undergrad parties.
-
I am pretty ultimate, yeah, thanks for noticing.
-
That's a whole other conversation.

and this is why people have morality, because we dont want to kill each other, steal from one another, etc, when we experience this. morality comes from the experience of being this, together.
-
Trust me, TheJourney, I am more than familiar with the line you are on right now. I'm happy for your realisation and I hope it sustains and spreads, so that freedom seeds and grows wherever it will and can.
-
I was attempting to unravel your 'logic' to do with other people, and their morals and prison. I see you believe 'they' are in 'prison' because they believe in something you have seen through. I suggest your idea about 'them' and their relation to their 'entire outlook on life' is oversimplified. to put it mildly. but good for you, as ShaktiMama said, now your journey begins, and with it, compassion for the complexity of being human, no doubt. And may impeccable morality emerge for all of us as our hearts grows in wisdom each day.

The idea above is very familiar, thankyou.

Yes, that assortment of many and conflictual things means that their reality is fluctuant and organic. Today someone may eat too much and tomorrow they may diet. Today they may be addicted to porn and tomorrow decide to give it up. This week they may appreciate their parents and next week find them deadly. Whilst wishing to get out of debt, they decide to buy a new car. Wherein resides their entire outlook on life that you see as their truth?
-
ah, thanks. So 'truth' for you here means ' entire outlook on life'. That's not a way I generally think of as 'truth' ..... (Though I know in theory people say things like "live your truth" which I think means 'be authentic'.) Do people have an entire outlook on life? People I know have an assorted collection of wishes, hopes, aspirations, fears, programming, upbringing, education, and not all of it works in the same direction, there is often a lot of conflict within their collection.
-
Hi there. Nice you are all enthused. Can we just have a bit of a look at your first premise? "If there's a truth, then there must be "goodness" within that truth" What is your definiton of 'goodness' here? A tree exists, that is a truth. What is the 'goodness' in that truth? Trees are the lungs of our planet. What is the 'goodness' in that truth? A child flourishes when s/he is loved and hugged and cared for. What is the 'goodness' in that truth? A child ignored and brutalised suffers. What is the 'goodness' in that truth? Many people love and enjoy animals. What is the 'goodness' in that truth? Many people enslave and are cruel to animals. What is the 'goodness' in that truth?

[quote name='al.' date='23 December 2010 - 06:22 PM' timestamp='1293128561' post='231552 It's interesting that you mention the first passage of the Bible as being the most resonant. I suspect that many of the sacred texts and ways of using words place their greatest emphasis on the initial word or sentence...- perhaps creating a parallel situation of the first moment, the first sound to break the silence.. I was at a lecture on Vedic practices earlier this year and the teacher described a similar viewpoint, but in regards to the Vedas. The gist of his point was that in the first Veda, in the first chapter, the very first word was 'Agni'... Fire... Coincidentally the Kototama tradition has roots that stem back to the Vedas.. More pieces to a puzzle! a Interesting point al, I like it. ( funny this is the second time in as many days I've heard the mention of kototama, and I never heard of it before at all..)
