  1. Dispelling the Fog

Hi Santyr. Hey.... I just want to check.. you know that your lack of confidence about this is just a symptom of The Fog, right? You dont have to believe the symptomatic voices. You'd be better off smiling at them and saying "thanks, but ..." and wandering off to do your own thing. They want to keep you muffled! You have the ability to listen to and dialogue with your own psyche. Yes, you have. "Correctly"? hold up dude. No need to make it an exam.. relax into it, not thinking of correct or incorrect or any such framework, just listen like you would to a wind blowing. Or watch like you would watch an animal running about. It just is. Cant be right, cant be wrong. Sometimes we like the Fog because it allows us to feel nurtured in a funny kind of way.. it takes the edge off life. So when you start to clear the fog, make sure you nurture yourself consciously. okay? Good Luck.
  2. Hi there, just want to point out that when we post in someone's personal practice forum, they are able to delete our posts if they so choose. We all have a post-deletion button for all posts, in our pp forums.
  3. Individuality and the Tao

First of all, I hope your tooth is getting sorted and it isnt hurting any more. ( CLOVE OIL! TEA TREE OIL!) Second of all, Brian Eno. ( If I can mention him at any time, I will. Explain him, no, I cant.)
  4. Dispelling the Fog

Have a good look at your fog, and have a chat with it. Hello Fog. What you doing? Have you got something for me? Do you need something from me? How would it be if you dispelled? Did I create you for protection? If I did, then thankyou for sticking around. Can we experiment together with new ways of being? How much are you air element? How much are are you water? Are you made up of thoughts and feelings? Want to share? etc etc etc etc Good Luck. PS Bruce F's methods are good.
  5. Individuality and the Tao

Hi there. I'm giving generic comments here, as I havent met you before..so... ... actually it might be the thing to forget about 'understanding' anything with your thoughts for a while, yes. Because we dont understand who we are, anyhow, so telling ourselves we do is a terrific fiction and limitation anyhow. It's a good thing to cultivate a sense of humour about your identity. You could enjoy the creativity of having created a persona, the joke of walking about inhabiting it. Loosen the bonds a little. Big changes can happen from sitting slightly differently in your seat, metaphorically speaking. I wouldnt like to suggest that the end result of experimenting will be 'understanding'... it might be that the end result is less of an attachment to the fiction of understanding.. I do believe one needs quite a lot of understanding and knowledge in order to reach a place from which one can let it go. It's the classic Hero's Journey. The Fool must step on the path to begin...
  6. How To Heal A Cold With Tao? Or Zen?

Run the Orbit. Vent the lungs. That will sort it out.
  7. Individuality and the Tao

Taoist practices shed the layers of you which arent really you, and then you can be authentically who you actually might be at any given moment. A difference will be your relation to who you might be will be looser, more free, unstickied. This means that you wont be attached to making a narrative about yourself and presenting yourself as a fixed article. No need to self mythologise, no need to say "I" so much, and no need to self define define define endless likes dislikes opinions and blah blah blah.. you can be more fluid. more responsive. less power based. Tis a common fear, the loss of identity that might ensue if one tampers in some way with the sense of self. Interesting in itself, that we fear losing that which we arent sure of... the shakier the sense of self, the greater the need to hold onto it. Actually what gets lost are the accrued complexes, nothing we chose or created.
  8. Member Ranks

I love Sean, and I love he made this place, so I love his member ranks, they are a bit of Sean. I like vintage more than brand new. My vote is to keep the original thing.
  9. Robert Peng's New Book

Hi wtm. This is why ToPfan didnt need to reiterate practices : It would be a shame - and the forum would be less a place of sharing - if members felt unwelcome to pop in here and give headsup about new books/etc that they know will be of interest to some board members.
  10. Robert Peng's New Book

    Thanks ToP-fan, nice heads up.
  11. Meridian Energisers

Yes. The org. that sells them that we referenced, recommends using the alternative I mentioned, and I've seen people working with them, really fine. Good Luck, enjoy yourself!

  14. Non-Genital Centered Sexuality

Fantastic work dmattwads. "non genital type sexual compulsions" is interesting. Interesting to ponder in what way were the compulsions 'sexual'...expanding the notion of what is 'sex' ... you might like "the soul of sex" by thomas moore...it's a really good book by a jungian analyst who was previously a catholic priest, explaining that we need sex from somewhere very deep in our souls,as part of our every moment, and it isnt at all limited to a genital experience, but is a fundamental engagement with life, the fabric of being here, the fabric of our being. .. sometimes BDSM stuff is about giving up personal power and yielding deeply to a greater power...or playing around with breaking through personal boundaries.. symbolic ya know, like dreams or poetry... doesnt mean you have to be horrified and think you are going to have to get literal and act it out... it might be that every organ we have has it's own expression of sexual soul fantasy, a dream of what the soul seeks, in metaphor, wether distasteful to our judging mind, or beautiful.. the soul doesnt care, it just wants balance.. sex isnt just about genitals, sexual fantasies are like dreams... it's all much more expansive and less literal than we are expected to believe. thankfully.
  15. Kan and Li

Hi dmattwads. Yes, I 've done the K&L courses several times with M Winn. Not visualising, definitely feeling, IME. Very much an inner lovemaking, blissful, cleansing alchemical process. Lots of junk old emotion pouring out and away. Purifying. As other people have said, it's great to be with a teacher. But you can def do it alone if you have the perseverance, to get past the initial seeming-complexity. I wouldnt attempt it without a good success with Fusion. Without that basis and that level of purification not a lot can flow. It is very valuable to persevere with Fusion! And if Fusion isnt happening as you woud wish, return to base and rebuild from foundation. No hurry. Good Luck, I hope you enjoy!
  16. Secret smile
