Hagar, yes. The knowledge that there is only actually simultaneity would seem initially to cancel out the idea of ancestry.. and yet.. in my felt experience it doesnt .. because the fact of it is, it is an essential interweaving of energies, inextricably linked, and independant of this weird thing we experience of as 'time'... 'there is only one minute, and we are in it' and so is everyone that ever lived or will live, and we are all part of one another. Maybe it's that quantum thingie when things are both 'here' and 'there' at the same time.... so that say, our great grandparents are they themselves - ie a, and they are also part of us , say we are b+a... actually this is now sounding like a description of God. Do you think maybe we are God and we dont know it. Hence your real self is the Matterhorn.

I do a lot for charity but I dont like to talk about it.

What is your 'Real self" in this, Hagar? I'm not clear on that point. I guess there is soul as an historical /religious concept, and soul as might be thought of as an energetic identity/ies, a field of resonance of our own particular colour/shape/sound. why is it that particular resonance, that loves 'a' and just doesnt love 'b'... if we fall in love with one tree, and not another tree.. is it because we are soul mates in that moment with that tree, ie we meet one anothers particular shen requirements for ultimate balance which we make together to shift us forward. the soul of the lungs is an idea you struggle with? have you contacted the body souls in meditation? maybe what we call 'soul' in this instance is biochemistry and stored mind /memory/ unconscious matters both of our own and from others, picked up and stashed. stuff from our parents , and from theirs, all combined in our organs. And what all that makes, combined with our own destiny - potential. that might be the soul of the organ. and that added with their own inherent nature. maybe it is less like a filing cabinet than a kaleidoscope. actually, that is what you said!

If we have 'soul food' and 'soul music' and 'soul mates' and 'the vale of soul making' then we can take it that soul is more than personality. It is deeper and needs deep feeding and expression otherwise it grieves and causes distortions of personality, and drives one to any mannner of behaviours to get some soul experience. And so it is more individual, more engaged in change and expression and experience than Pure Being. I think it is our body spirits mixed in a cocktail with the flavour of our destiny - potential... I think it is the potential flower or tree that we could be. Thomas Moore is the Soul writer extraordinaire, and his books are a delight to read. he uses the great word 'ensoulment' .. to talk about the creation of a soul in a human being.. we can enrich our souls and make our lives more soulful. He has a great book 'the soul of sex' too, ever a fascinating subject for us taoists. All of his books are Excellent and Highly Recommended by moi!

How about some reasonable guidelines under which circumstances it is ok to 'call BS'? For example : if you have no personal knowledge of the teacher /havent read their books/ worked with them/tried their practises.. is it still ok to 'call BS'? If they have a body of work that members here respect and you personally dont know their work, is it ok to 'call BS'? (Or would it be more worthwhile to listen, find out, and ask questions phrased in a non accusatory way... ) I'm thinking the term 'call BS' could also be paraphrased as 'randomly denigrate' and 'personally judge and insult, based on hearsay and rumour"...

I have some organic cacao powder that I use now for making chocolatey things, it is wonderful, very yummy. And mixed with yacon and lacuma, the ideal sweet hit that doesnt make you feel gguuuhhh - ey. I know Ryan is about to do Fusion.. after which I couldnt drink even a glass of wine for about a year, and definitely my system didnt like chocolate.. it gave me spots every time I ate a piece. Purification of the body radically changes the taste buds. I have an apple and cider cake in the oven as we speak. I'll let you know how it goes..

I think if you continue with your practises the time will come when that food will look repellant to you and be inedible. So. If your mind is attached to the idea of it as a treat, indulge it while it still 'works'!

Mikaelz, I do taoist practices. I have places to go! As far as I'm concerned, this board is far from awash with advanced practioners of Advaita, Zen or Dzochen and so posting that quote here is akin to advocating introverted quietism and it is all too easy to sit in a dream like state and imagine you are meditating....

I love him!

Hi Dian, welcome. We are very happy to have you and Eric visit us, thankyou. And you know what : I adore having a pair of happy lovers on the board. You two are a tonic and an inspiration.

On reading this notion my brain shut down and I made an assumption that I couldnt understand the process. Little bits of word I must avoid? Like a very hard crack in the pavement game... Then I saw the eprimer and thought I'd have a go seeing as how it makes the process less difficult for me. But it still makes my head feel funny. Whatever part of the brain this uses, my brain doesnt like it.. it makes my own language suddenly become not my own anymore.. ag! I jump forward to wanting to eschew language entirely. A space beyond familiar or unfamiliar, just communicating in some invisible way. I wonder who would pick up the signals.

Ha. I'm a woman. I speak from my own life experience. You might want to wonder what your investment is in being so unwilling to distinguish amongst women, you appear to want to make womankind into an homogenous lump. If you want to talk Psychoanalysts about Women, I wouldnt reference Freud, if you are looking for wisdom. Try Marion Woodman.. she's more of this century, and knows about conscious feminine and unconscious feminine.
