Just get a little starter kombucha for cheap and then make your own, as Lin says. It is so easy and you can make it with green tea as well as black, and experiment. Green tea with lemongrass for a summery champagne - like kombucha. Black tea for a more gutsy winter one. It's a mysterious substance that balances the body. That's all I know, though I do make it and love it. The cultures are quite amazing, I blend them with aqueous cream for my parents and they use it on arthritic joints and find it very useful. The old cultures are great for the soil, to help grow things.

Ok, it's gone all quiet in here now that Sean asked for some help with designing.. I cant help. I came in to mention the 'my last ten posts' thing again. The forum is so sprawling now that I cant ever recall or find where I last posted.. so... if you can get it again, please do. Fangs. xxxx

It is interesting. it might not be old news to some. It could be useful to some. Drew deserves more respect than your answer gave. As does anyone, in fact.

ShaktiMama is right and acupuncture is great. I was going to say "Do some qigong!" because your chi is st - st -st - st - uck in so - so - so s o- me places, and you need to get it f l o w i n g again. Once it is flowing you can trust life again. Acupuncture will get you there nice and fast and keep it going yourself with your taoist practices. Good luck

hi trogdorf. It's quite simple. if you are working out in nature with earth energy and you absorb more than you feelcomfortable with, then place your palms on the earth or the trees and, with love and gratitude, return the chi. Vent through your palms or through the soles of your feet as you walk on the earth. give it back where it came from. Inside a building you can vent with your palms into the walls. Otherwise, if you are in a public place, you can vent with your intention, into the atmosphere, giving thanks to the energy and intending for it to find a more beneficial location.

There is no anomaly at all. These thngs that you describe are Taoist Arts. Art is creative and enhances nature. Anyone how has had taoist sex will tell you that it is creative and enhances the flow of things.

That woom power image is wonderful. It's an Alex Gray world we live in, no doubt about it. And the semen is a material substance that can be controlled with relative ease. Retention practices are in a way the idiots guide to not going around smearing your life force everywhere.. but the sorceror is able to do that on a non physical level.. Mal I love the stories about what you though of sex when you were little.. I believe that what we think of sex when we are little is really key to our sexual karma and is what we have to work with in this life. Interesting, isnt it. I think it is a good way of the father really knowing ( I mean a deeper knowing than just a factual one)he is the father of that child.. to me, it bonds the father, the process you describe. So it is useful... it also, I think, lets the woman realise more fully who is the father of the child. Otherwise, with the intense carrying relationship between mother and child, it is easy for the father to become peripheral, psychically.

It is quite shocking in this book when you read about the sexual network a woman's body carries from past lovers, isnt it.. I remember Ian telling me about the Barry Long idea that an evolved man who has got free sexually from objectivising women and all that damaging stuff, can have a 'magnetic penis' and heal the woman inside. I certainly did the recapitulation after reading this and even so.. eh ... no wonder 'sexual healing' is such a popular song..

Oh, I 've read this book, Mal. Good fun.

To communicate with Mars, converse with spirits, To report the behaviour of the sea monster, Describe the horoscope, haruspicate or scry, Observe disease in signatures, evoke Biography from the wrinkles of the palm And tragedy from fingers; release omens By sortilege, or tea leaves, riddle the inevitable With playing cards, fiddle with pentagrams Or barbituric acids, or dissect The recurrent image into pre-conscious terrors— To explore the womb, or tomb, or dreams; all these are usual Pastimes and drugs, and features of the press: And always will be, some of them especially When there is distress of nations and perplexity Whether on the shores of Asia, or in the Edgware Road. Men's curiosity searches past and future And clings to that dimension. But to apprehend The point of intersection of the timeless With time, is an occupation for the saint— No occupation either, but something given And taken, in a lifetime's death in love, Ardour and selflessness and self-surrender. For most of us, there is only the unattended Moment, the moment in and out of time, The distraction fit, lost in a shaft of sunlight, The wild thyme unseen, or the winter lightning Or the waterfall, or music heard so deeply That it is not heard at all, but you are the music While the music lasts. These are only hints and guesses, Hints followed by guesses; and the rest Is prayer, observance, discipline, thought and action. The hint half guessed, the gift half understood, is Incarnation. (TS Eliot, a section from the dry salvages from the four quartets) VALENTINE ENERGY TO YOU ALL! xxxxxxx

.broken. Hooray! That is a most beautiful water idea, roses are magical and mesmerising. Thankyou for contributing, I am thinking of getting the water egg and the idea of it having a tiny bit of rose in it is very poetical and nourishing to the soul. This thread is like a party, with my favourite posters in it. A water party. And here is some water stuff to add to the flow - wu wei is associated with water through its yielding nature. Water is soft and weak, but it can move earth and carve stone.

NeiChuan I dont know you at all so I dont feel I can make any specific suggestions tailor made to suit you.. So if I were you I'd experiment to feel what is most grounding and rooting for you.. standing in qigong stance and going into relaxation and imagining roots growing out of your feet deep into the earth and the earth energy coming up and being circulated through your legs, up your perineum, up your spine, over your crown, and down your front again back into the earth is a classic rooting excercise in which you get grounded. would also stress that it is vital to close down thoroughly after practice to avoid all kinds of transient phenomena and leakings.
-
I do think so, yes.
-
Hi NeiChuan, I just underlined the answer to your issue, which you gave us at the start of your post. Really vital to be properly rooted, so that you dont fall over, in all kinds of ways.

New Mexico Daoist Workshops - DAOIST IMMERSION - LIVIA KOHN
三江源 replied to Stigweard's topic in General Discussion
Is this the most embarassing thread taobums has ever had to keep on it's boards. There is no need whatsoever to defend Livia Kohn to anyone here who has any interest or knowledge of taoist whatsoever. I repeated 'whatsoever' out of sheer exasperation. The internet is free for all, all life is here. Stupidity, deep stupidity, and all. -
New Mexico Daoist Workshops - DAOIST IMMERSION - LIVIA KOHN

Livia Kohn is a terrific scholar, I'm sure it will be fascinating and enriching. For those seriously interested in taoism. -
The intelligence of water is so much greater than air, said Viktor Schauberger... isnt that a great way to put it? To think about the intelligence of the various elements is new to me. I only thought of their qualities before. He is a very inspirational 'water wizard', a very close to nature being. Worth checking out him, his innovations which have been very useful in industry. So much of us is water, and in fact you could say Water Is Us. Seems to me that water consciousness is something fundamental to get in tune with and to assist. Funny, I have been focused on earth, and solar and lunar. I guess this is typically taoist. How come we say mother earth and not 'mother water'.. how come we have the king of the sea, Poseidon or Neptune, and no queen of the waters? Only Poseidons wife, AMPHITRITE, whom nobody has really heard of. Water is a yin element.. I think the vortex that water responds to is the yang process that creates balance.
