  1. I agree. The only impediment is not doing the excercise. Whole body breathing is another excercise to add to this.
  2. I never felt that I had to search during standing, to me its a complete practice that takes you where it intends to. Body stance creates consciousness, simply by being held. I was taught that no effort by mind was required, the stance was way more powerful than my mind.
  3. Life. A Chinese fable.

So the horse had gone! And, staring at the space left behind , I fail to notice that he has reappeared, next to my boat, and appear to be waiting for me! He makes a soft noise and I turn to see intelligent eyes resting on me, and realise the horse is a messenger full of heart and I must climb aboard and follow my destiny wherever he takes me. I leave my boat, and clamber on to this trusty steed. Luckily he has some biscuits in a little bag around his neck..... and a flask of tea! WHat Ho!
  4. This is it, and the main thing is to relax, so if you need a distraction, dont even worry about it at all. Seriously. There is just no reason at all , none, that what needs to happen cant happen with a tv programme on. You'd be amazed. John C above said: so there you go.
  5. If watching something helps you to do it, that's fine. Watch comedy or music video's though, ideally. Nothing vexing!
  6. btw .. about images which people may find disturbing : It's considerate to put them in a 'spoiler' envelope, with a 'warning' so that readers have a choice about what they see.
  7. Hi Immortal4life... something in that thread contained .. I dont know the correct terms, maybe viator will be along at some point and can explain well. There was something in it which was very dodgy when it got clicked on which wasnt good for our computers/the site and it was hard to track down where it was coming from in that thread apparently, without getting the problem exacerbated, for the site etc. Virus/malware stuff.
  8. dating people who have close birthdays

There was a period in my life where it seemed that everyody I met was a Virgo. That was kind of taxing. Libra, Virgo, Gemini for love interest and Capricorns for close friendships seems to be the way of it. Dont meet Taureans or Cancerians ever. Plus, anyone close to me has strong Plutonic influence and Pisces moon. Discussed this once on a taoist retreat, that Pluto close to Sun was almost a pre - requisite for alchemy students. I do sometimes wonder if we drew up a chart of taobums, what the sun/ascendant/moon picture would look like.
  9. Qigong and Aliens

post from Vortex Post from Shakti Mama The big dipper deserves a thread all of its own, really.
  10. Given that 'supernatural' powers go along with virtue and wisdom and a level of cultivation that is high... such uncoverings of abilities that become apparent due to stripping away of falsity just isnt going to be flaunted on a message board, or 'flaunted' anywhere. The glimmers that we get of such things are just little specks of light that become apparent through the darkness of our unawakened state.
  11. Qigong and Aliens

You arent talking to yourself sinan. 'off worlders' .... prolly got madskillz. agree. Why do we have the connection with the big dipper?
  12. Why Taoism?

Thanks chen ping.. so this example you give here is of the difference between "I enter a state of wu wei" and "I am wu wei".. and in the latter example wuwei is to do with frugality which is good economically? Have I read you correctly? So is it only in the western reading that wuwei is considered to be an internal state that one cultivates for inner harmony/sagacity?
  13. A thread on how to diss each other for blowing up each other arses whilst talking out of them at the same time. madskillz celebration.
  14. This is exactly how I feel. One of the reasons I like the board : reflexive tediousness of 'my point of view' ( yawn) so often activated and reflecting back my face. blah blah blah blah blah = me. And then there are also lots of learnings, touching sharings, opportunities to share and be together working stuff out.
  15. Why Taoism?

Hi chenping... I would be very interested if you were able to give examples of the difference you describe, so that we could understand more what you get when looking at life in a serious way, and what you get when you are looking at getting along with people in the west. A comparison on some specific points.. so that we may have an idea of some kind about that to which you refer.
  16. Why Taoism?

    eh?
  17. Why Taoism?

Hi LCH, thankyou for sharing. Are you able to tell us more of your experiences with these beings? (Understand indeed if you dont wish to.)
  18. Why Taoism?

Me too. I never heard nor read anything negative about it. Unlike semen retention practises, which are so often problematic, it seems.
  19. Why Taoism?

Has there been harm shown from red dragon practices?
  20. Why Taoism?

Semen retention doesnt have an biological effect? That would mean semen loss has no biological effect. I know that red dragon practices are controversial , and I am unclear how they are anything other than optimising lifeforce, parallel to semen retention. I understand a lot of people believe also it better not to interfere with semen emission. Then again cultivation itself is controversial. Iron shirt practices... perhaps some think they are contradictory to cultivation. It might be possible to consider 'transforming stress into vitality' with venting and cauldron creation as interfering, I suppose.
  21. Why Taoism?

You believe this also about semen retention ?
  22. Why Taoism?

no it isnt a contradiction. cultivation is interaction with nature in an mutually responsive way.
  23. 'put up with ' or 'anger' ... this is such a small menu I dont want to eat here.
