I guess this is why we read someone by the look from their eyes. we are checking out their spirit in one of its most readily perceptible ways.

Bumping this because its interesting.

Really do agree with this. The heart centre needs to say hello in this process. Practising an attitude of gratitude is good for this. Prayer of thanks.. if you can focus regularly on finding what you are grateful for.. and be grateful .. .you will start feeling more human again.

Cleansing with qigong. no 'deeper' method available.

the whole physical world is geared toward making us believe our senses and be asleep to the illusion. if, in our work - which should be our life - we also collude with the normative perceptions, we have very little space to prise open for awareness to come in. better to live a practice which holds conscious that we are NOT what we appear to be.. better by far, for our insight development and loosening of the bonds. what it is that we are attached to, the partial truth, is fine.. if our aim is partial truth. hmmm... polarities about absolute truth .... there's ignorance of absolute truth and and removal of ignorance about absolute truth. PS. the film that Tibetan_Ice linked to is really worth watching http://www.innerworldsmovie.com/

and what do you answer? Or do you just stay stuck at lack of comprehension? -

Willfully killing yourself with Phowa technique

Good question. I dont think so, though. I think it would not 'escape', even if it failed to return. I might be quite wrong about this, it is just my sense of it. I know somebody who got their spirit stuck half way , in their crown. they were calling it back, and it just got stuck half way , and the guy had to duck really low walking through doorways and didnt know how to get it back in and eventually went to mantak chia who sorted it for him. -
Basher, what is the idea here behind 'reduce your fluid intake', do you know?

Is this a fear? or a default setting that runs along the framework set up for it... would re-wiring have to take place on a very fundamental level for such a radical perceptual overturning. I feel like there is design fault here in me which cannot consistently convert the meaningful to the meaningless. At least not at anything other than the speed of a very slow snail. the perception of reality is wired in to how my brain works. Isnt this what dark room meditations and fasting and so on are for.. to try to shift the neural set up to a different setting?

The question is, if a person has not even glimpsed what truth could possibly be, and live with their own level of truth, and know that their sense of truth has grown.. and maybe even are able to acknowledge that their own sense of truth is limited..but cant even conceive of a state in which truth could be non - relative... the leap of mind required to accept that truth could be a unity without shades of this and that , but actually a position of wholeness, a place of no opposite with no need for interpretation.. from where would that leap of mind come? What would a dialogue about truth look like? Can you write a fictional sketch of what that would look like, VMarco? When you imagine it, what is the content?

Like the responses so far, bumping for further input...

The film that Tibetan_Ice drew attention to is very good on the oneness aspect, if you have time to watch it, it might clarify, it certainly clarified a lot for me about oneness, and I have only watched the first two parts so far. http://www.innerworldsmovie.com/ at the moment, we seem to me to all be parts of the jumping shape in a water and cornflour experiment on a loudspeaker..

suninmyeyes, yes I know what you mean. I dont want to split hairs either. We might say : I have an anal region, yet I am not my anal region. We could say that every day if we wanted to, it could help us achieve something wonderful.

Yes, you just have to wait for Sean to do it.. at the moment he is the only one who has the capability to do it, the forum has recently changed and is stil being tweaked into shape.

I understand that you are balking at the word 'achieve' which seems too narrowly directive and over focused .. with connotations of false yang, egoic drive, traps of attachment to success and competition. And it would be possible to say, that some of your friends who go for months at a time into the wild alone to meditate etc have done good work, allowing themselves to achieve simplicity.
