  2. "Compassion means skillful action" - huh?

yes but.. the 'lofty ring' clearly carries a negative projection. Is the negativity in this projection really necessary? How could it be? From where does the negativity spring? and yes, real compassion would be an achievement. And everybody practices in order to achieve something. we talk about achieving, all the time on this forum. It's what we are about. achieving clarity, achieving simplicity, achieving clear ever available heart space... I agree with this, and I dont see the word 'instead' as being pertinent. If there was no-one there to see reality, there would also be no-one there to hear any 'lofty ring', that mara would have dissolved.
  3. "Compassion means skillful action" - huh?

The issue of resistance! excellent one to discuss. What do we do when our resistance is triggered, if we are concerned with growth!?
  4. "Compassion means skillful action" - huh?

I am genuinely having a hard time understanding why people are rejecting this truth. It seems so obviously true, to me. Does this rejection of this idea come from a fear that all our kindness and empathy and good intent is to no avail, because we only able to offer something partial? Because if partial is all I've got.. well, so be it. It doesnt mean I have to deny something fuller exists. Is this the problem ,really, with the above statement by VMarco? Is anybody willing to see the truth in it? Why do people look at the photo of Ramana Maharishi a lot.. the one where he is bare shouldered and looking with direct gaze into the camera. Does he seem compassionate because he sees the world as it really is, just as simple as that? or no? Is there some rejection here of the concept of 'real compassion'... does that feel llike a distinction which is just unacceptable because it relegates all the other compassion to a lesser realm? Does it matter if there is lesser compassion and greater? Do we bridle at the thought that our compassion is lesser? The greater compassion contains all. We are part of the greater. Do we feel that our level of compassion is as developed as Ramana Maharishi? If not.. wherein lies the difference?
  5. Selling Out? Really?

My post was off topic. What you wrote prompted a train of thought for me, for which, thankyou. And it was nothing to do with selling out.
  6. "Compassion means skillful action" - huh?

Symbiosis isnt compassion. Enmeshment isnt compassion. That's called 'merging'. The husband who fainted was unconscious, before he fainted too. Compassion is conscious.
  7. Greetings + Question, the 1st serious post!

    I'm not a fella.
  8. Selling Out? Really?

yes, I studied astrology. I also can draw up and interpret a chart. I read that book. All Liz Greene's books. And Howard Sassportas. etc. You said the same thing to me last time you told this anecdote. I was saying something more than your response addresses. But it is of no moment for this thread, so forgive me for going off topic.
  9. Selling Out? Really?

Azad, and taoiseasy, when Sean sees this he will do it for you.
  11. Does art come from suffering?

That's terrific. You can find a new type of art expressing something different. Try listening to Beethovens 9 th and looking at some Chagall, Odilon Redon, Rothko, Kandinsky... New artistic input will open up your mind to new modes of inspiration.
  12. Interview with Bruce Frantzis

The great thing is, that so many people have benefitted so much from what he has contributed. So many people have opened up, thanks to him not just 'quietly doing his own thing'.. thankfully there is room for many vibrations. If all of them were quiet, something would be out of balance.
  13. This is GOLD

eeeeeuuuuuuuurrrrrrgggghhhhhh. I thought that was going to be something GOLD. change the title to something objectively truthful. like "I LIKE THIS< ITS REALLY NOISY"
  14. Greetings + Question, the 1st serious post!

Neither one of those polarities. Always the one that has no opposite.
  15. Close down Qi, or always stay connected?

Being aware all the time is a high level practise. Eventually your previous level of awareness will disintegrate , you will fully inhabit the new level of awareness and there is no 'going back'. OP It would be beneficial for us to hear how it is for you living in the world with the level of abilities and awareness that you have developed. What 'emotional force' do you choose to cultivate? How do those around you respond to such force? Simply by the fact of it being a force, you must meet a lot of resistance? 'negativity cannot affect you anymore'.. have you reached this state? How does this affect your conversation and interaction with 'normal' people who have negative feelings.. do you discount their feelings ie has it impeded your ability to take them seriously or care about what they perceive as negative? Do you attempt to show others that negative isnt present, if so, how can you do this? Has your partner reached the same level of awareness, if not.. how does it work between you? You sound as though you are in a level which would make usual consciousness tricky to relate to.. no? I'm just wondering how you live in the world, with all your awareness, force , abilities, power, and lack of negativity. How does it go?
  16. Would you erect one of these signs, if this was your balcony?
  17. Soma - Plants and the Divine

A long time ago I got a 'nose initiation' from a master sifu. He did something to my nose channels so that whenever I smelled incense, I went into qigong state, deeply, easily. A teacher can make incense a drug/vehicle/key of wisdom.. the catalyst is something plus you. I have had the hemp drink, in India, at ritual retreat. I dont think I knew how to use it and I just got stoned. But what do I know.. maybe the being stoned, in the environment of a guru, resulted in somethings of which I am not aware. Certainly being stoned at other times, or being on acid, for me, has been incredibly much the same as being with a good teacher of spirituality. Except not if you just watch movies and munch on stuff etc. Its all to do with how you do it.
  18. Treating everyone as a Buddha

by 'kind' you'd be meaning heavily armoured to the extent of being crushed under the weight of dysfunction and delusion ( not to be nitpciky but it aint 'classical' you actually mean 'classic'.. just think .. are there any 'classical cars' or is any Cliff Richard song 'classical cliff..' )
