  1. Excellent move away from what you repeatedly express that you neither enjoy nor find useful! Perfect use of ignore function, to avoid repetetive fruitless activation! Self moderation is not just a utopian dream!!
  2. Treating everyone as a Buddha

I just dont think that Buddha believed that those unable to reciprocate were ersholes.... call me old fashioned but I just dont see it that way.. I think those that are unable to reciprocate are more in need. What do we do then? Tricky. Imagine if we all on the board treated each other as if we were Buddha.. Maybe we would be negatively activated by Buddha's decisions and comments, too, just because we are prone to activation..
  3. Maybe they removed themselves?!
  4. hi CatP Done. and now... change the title of this thread, so that it is more pertinent to what you want sean to do.. he'll be more likely to see it .. OR send him a pm.
  5. I am sorry for your distress. Thankyou for your advice. The mod team has discussed this issue of the irritation VMarco causes some members.
  6. january 2013 - forum upgrade

When I click on 'quote' ..nothing appears in my message writing text.. but then the 'quote' marks appear when the message is posted. I cant tell where the quote marks will show up! (What does 'baller' mean?!)
  7. ~ Thanks to everyone for all staying on topic here. It takes a village, as the saying goes. ~ mod team

I cant quote anything at all.
  10. Spending money on books

The thing with reading, for me, is the way that I read. If I read just with my head, it's just info. If I engage as many levels of me as possible, and be as present as possible, then I can get impact and realisation from within the text and from associations inspired by the text. A paragraph may be saying something I have heard many times before and already 'know'. And if i open to it more than I ever opened before, I get to know it on a new level, deeper into my awareness and the fuller implications of it can be integrated. There are always fuller awareness levels to be found. Its just as well to forget how much one thinks one knows, and to forget looking at books for confirmation of what one knows, and instead to open .. because something, somewhere wants us to learn deeply. We just have to tune into that something, and allow synchronicity to find us the means. Newness is utterly beside the point, when we havent even deeply perceived let alone digested what is here.
  11. Soma - Plants and the Divine

It's an interesting topic. It could get seen here, if you actually want to discuss the use of marihuana in the bible, it's pretty fascinating. Being in the right place is part of the tao! I had never thought that the burning bush was actually marijuana. About fly agaric (sp?) I had read some, but not about this. I think you really have to know how to guide the effects, or to work with a shaman, or.. something.
  12. Soma - Plants and the Divine

Changing the chemistry of the brain to open receptors. What bush was burning?
  13. right speech and "real" compassion

~ Good plan, SJ. Discuss the topic without invective and personal attack as per forum rules. If the thread degenerates into an attack thread rather than a discussion of right speech, it will be locked and those involved will be suspended. ~ mod team
  14. Why is this called Vedanta Discussion?

Do we actually need to modify the name of this forum?
  15. right speech and "real" compassion

~ moderator message ~ Discussing right speech sounds useful. Please keep the thread on topic and please avoid pursuing personal vendetta. Avoiding making it personal would be the most constructive way forward and failiure to do this will result in moderator action. Messages that have been reported are currently off board, and in the concierge area for consideration.
  16. Kundalini surviver.....

Congrats on sorting your way through the turmoil. Welcome!
  17. Hi, I'm a christian and my Kundalini is awakening. Please Help :)

Op, it would be sensible to talk to someone in your real life if you are feeling overwhelmed. Just a grounding talk to a grounded human being can work wonders. Please try Samaritans, just to talk to someone. Or whatever the equivalent of Samaritans is, where you live.. a phone line of trained volunteers who know what it is to feel overwhelmed, and will keep you company and show you that the wave isnt going to knock you under, its just a bit of a surfing lesson.
  18. This Forum Is Great
