I am attached to my sufferings and dramas and don't want to let them go
三江源 replied to Jetsun's topic in General Discussion
I tried to do this, 18 years ago. No, I did it, 18 years ago. I also suggested she relinquish the position she had adopted of sitting as condemning judge and jury, and be more heart centred in her evaluation of events, circumstances, people. She did one of those quiet dismissive laughs. The ones that are supposed to be 'knowing'. -
Fuck It is a way of saying tread lightly in this world

I dont know wether to mention this or not. I have a family member who is 60 and at every family gathering she brings up her grievances which stem back... well, she has grievances up to 57 years old, against her family. She is 60. When I see her tight lipped and tight arsed about what has been done to her.. lets get it straight, we're talking family insensitivity and lack of awareness, nothing worse than that.. I want to shake her by the shoulders and force her to stand in front of a mirror and see she is 60.. and say now is the fucking time to drop it already.. how long you gonna carry this shit! I find it hard to contemplate she might carry that shit all her life. For want of something better to do... maybe. It seems to me she uses her baggage to define herself, repudiation is her springboard. Lillies that fester smell far worse than weeds. "I cant let go! what do I have when I let go?" " you have exactly what you had before, it's just that you let go of it." If not now, when? -
Looks like Obomber is going to use today's shooting to create a constitutional crisis

I dont know anybody who would not say the exact same thing. This is because I live somewhere without a gun culture. Most if us have never ever seen a gun except on tv. -

The Ancient Egyptians believed that when you died, you travelled to the Hall of the Dead. There Anubis weighed your heart against the feather of Ma'at. Ma'at, the goddess of justice sits on top of the scales to make sure that the weighing is carried out properly. You can see Anubis steadying the scales to make the weighing fair. If your heart was lighter than the feather, you lived for ever. We still talk of "a heart as light as a feather" to mean care-free, and "heavy-hearted" to mean sad. If your heart was heavier than the feather then it was eaten by the demon Ammit, the Destroyer. Ammit had the head of a crocodile, the shoulders of a lion and the rump of a hippopotamus. These were all frightening animals for the Egyptians. Thoth, god of wisom and writing, stands by to record what happens. -
I cant find mine.

Such beliefs as you speak of being fed live all around us, in the atmosphere, breathed at us and embodied in so many cultural reference points. We have to have pristine immunity, which is why being a woman is a spiritual practice in itself if we accept the challenge.

I cant help thinking that the title of this thread is misleading. So far this thread is actually "J MCCARTHY gives her concept of magical lineage" .. it's very local, very specific.

What do you think Osho knew that standard agents dont? Anyone that knows the work of Osho, please chime in. I wouldnt "hate on Osho." I know people who used to live with him for years, I never heard of any secret stuff that wasnt said elsewhere? Intrigued!

How does one find one's personal practice forum now?
三江源 replied to 三江源's topic in Forum and Tech Support
eh, well, perhaps it is just a period of adjustment. And anyone else who either prefers the new way or preferred the old way, please feel free to chime in. -
I personally think that is a valid request and idea HOWEVER it is more than likely that not all members or moderators would agree. I think alarm bells start ringing for some people when topics are treated as of import and tried to be kept readable.. it can be interpretated in an alarmist light as censorship and then panick and reactivity sets in for some. It seems such a simple issue, but, in practice, here, it isnt.

How does one find one's personal practice forum now?

Thanks viator. I dont know how you did that. I went and saw a list of names, but I didnt see mine on it. I wonder if the new way of showing pp forums is actually good? If not.. it might be worth asking Sean to change it back to the old way. Or is it just me? -
I was thinking of starting it in my pp forum, so that I could moderate it for juice to chaff content! I am genuinley interested in lineage and would like people to feel they really were contributing to a discussion and a sharing and not feel they had to wade through a mountain of chat to do so. I dont think this thread has started with a good vibe. Its a damp squib.

I had thought that it would be a good idea to start a thread about Lineage, and invite members to contribute any words of wisdom about it that they have come across in their studies, and experiences of it. Hopefully a useful thread for those that dont comprehend.

Is this thread actually in the correct forum?
