  1. Is it me or Qigong is boring ?

So many do. And oh what fun they have. Something to do while waiting to die.
  2. Is it me or Qigong is boring ?

eh, I think you made the crucial point.
  3. Is it me or Qigong is boring ?

You mean you want to be aware of something happening, and for that to happen it needs to be OBVIOUS and IMMEDIATE like NOODLES.
  4. Is it me or Qigong is boring ?

Horse stance must be beyond boring. Unless you can eat noodles at the same time.
  5. Is it me or Qigong is boring ?

It's you. Are you looking for entertainment in the wrong place?
  6. dude wheres my orgone accumulator

I had a friend who received Orgone treatment. Probably in the 1960's. It was offered to him for anxiety and alcohol dependancy. What you going to use it for?
  7. I am aware! Watch THIS!

Elephants habituated into such a robotic state that they seemed to a the disney conditoned anthropomorphistic watcher that they 'loved putting on a show' and bought into the illusion that their trainers 'loved' the elephants. SO much love that they got them to behave as their training dictated, as if they were doing it of their own free will. As if they had anything resembling that left. Or is the contrivance of this in accordance with the tao, in some way? Some wonderful, convoluted way, something like oooooh maybe a superb level of freedom induced in the elephants by the training they had to undergo to conform to others wishes? A wondrous chance for them to give up what they were, and find a new self, able to titillate others. An audience full of people ever hungry for variety, in their endless desire to experience 'everything'. nevrenuffpie. Lets watch animals perform tricks, YAY! Are the elephants getting to realise their unknown gifts and talents through the great love of the trainers, who are showing them a new wonderful word of performing for others to watch, and experience the liberation of doing as they are told, on other peoples terms, and internalise the game to the extent that a watcher could fondly imagine it was cute. Or at least get off on the level of contrivance set up for their consumption. Before they move onto the next novelty to be consumed. or is it just manipulative for trivial reasons. A power trip. Man wins, he subjugates as automatically as he breathes. Or is it just of no consequence whatsoever.
  8. I read the above post.Thanks.
  9. How Attached to Your Ideas Are You?

That was an interesting piece, ~K~. Conclusion being did not know the term 'deontic' before! thanks for that.
  10. How Attached to Your Ideas Are You?

This is very much my experience. Being intellectually eviscerated, ie by conversation, confrontation on a logical left brain plain, is childsplay compared to truly have your inner structures deconstructed by practice.
  11. Spirituality and Religion

We dont live in a progressive and spiritually free culture with regards to sex. We live in a highly marketed at culture where any young person with a thoughtful disposition sees, consciously or not, degradation and exploitation of male and female sexuality for money, thrown at them from all over the place. They see very unhappy girls with anorexia and body dysmorphia with anxiety disorders and social phobias and taking depression meds in alarming proportions, and they see pressure to be ever and increasingly sexual in competetive ways that their young developing systems just arent ready for. They see men judged for how they look with their shirt off and girls judged for the same, and increasing inability to believe in love as enduring or relationships as stable. They see their friends with porn or their own sex acts filmed to laugh at on their mobile phones, and their peers sending their nude photos to websites to be judged on their bodies. What young people have to endure today as the sexual climate in which they are to grow is alarming to me, as someone who grew up in a softer time when feelings were considered healthy and desirable, and now are considered a burden to 'freedom', which is merely freedom to consume. What does sexual and spiritual freedom actually look like? What would it truly be? Is it about availabilty and plenty of variety or ..not. I dont see sexual freedom as what is going on right now, far from it. It looks like enslavement to me, to something sold by mainstream media as desirable. How do we find out what is freedom for us? Not by consuming what the normative culture sells us. The 'guilt' is, to me, when uprooted to show its true face, a sign of health.. I think it may actually be grief, unrecognised.
  12. Teachers on the big island of Hawaii?

    what anamatava said.
  13. Teachers on the big island of Hawaii?

Sure thing. (Was just thinking of dogs as beings of light. Nice.)
  14. Teachers on the big island of Hawaii?

It's not an uninteresting topic, there are various points of view expressed here which are useful to hear, and it's bringing an issue to the fore which certainly I hadnt thought about much consciously, other than disliking the theft of dogs into negative agendas. I go along with Cesar Milan essentially about dogs, but co opting animals as symbols and expressions is all part of life, and it's as well to be aware. Tux, threads do meander somewhat..
  15. Teachers on the big island of Hawaii?

heh, yes, I agree, it's a destructive game to pretend the nature of cats and dogs are in opposition to one another. not as dangerous as pretending male and female are opposites, though, or self and other.
  16. Teachers on the big island of Hawaii?

I can see on the one hand it seems kind of hilarious to be going on about vicious dog breeds. However, one of our members is saying they bother him 20 times a day. This sounds awful and I'm very sorry to hear it. So it might be hilarious because we lack awareness about it. I just google it for the UK and found this:

What is interesting is that in France pit bulls are known as 'nanny dogs' because they are considered to be the ideal dogs for small children to have around,as they love children. When I see a bloke in a hoody with a pit bull on a lead, in London, where I live, I have the same kind of response as VMarco. I see an expression of pain and concommitant hostility, this is the location- specific cultural signifier.
  18. Mental Connections

I was a tremendous starer too, when I was a kid. Teachers thought I was really paying attention to the lessons, but I was just staring. I tried to stop staring in my early 20's when it was commented on. But I think it is natural to stare at other humans when one is in a mild state of amazement about them. We dont mind children staring at us, so much, as adults. But adults staring at us is disconcerting; what do they want, do I look weird, are they mad? When one goes to a culture where one's type of face is unusual, one gets stared at endlessly. I find it rather a relief, it seems natural. As children we must have been familiarising ourselves with this strange physiogonmy thing, which is so mobile and noises come out of it. As a wee infant in my cot, I recall finding faces super hilarious. deeply hilarious. It was clearly: The thing stuck on the top, at the front, which is a signifier of constant import. I also found it purely hilarious that there were facial expressions directed at me, and that I must also have one of those signifiers also.
  19. Spirituality and Religion

Only in the same sense that reading and writing posts keep one unaware of reality. if one's objective is to be aware of 'reality' then one will work on maintaining the connection one believes is with reality, religion or no. Religion is opium in the sense that everything can be opium...if one seeks an opiate one will find it ubiquitous. The blanket statement from Osho is an early stage teaching for those who are coming out from under groupthink and external locus of evaluation perception. If we were to take some religious teachings as inner meditations, instead of using them as opiates, then we would be getting somewhere. This is the same as the pit bull discussion. Take something as the Flag it has become distortedly used as, or relate to it without the accrued detritus.
