Holy crap! I was alternating doing the empty hand and sword form and noticed that the sword form builds more qi than the empty hand form. Is this true or just a quirk of the past few days? Anyone know any good sites on taiji sword?

Hagar, Thanks. I am starting to love the Sword so much I am looking at buying a really nice one. I found one with a Damascus blade for $900 but the handle is crap. It's the most beautiful blade with a cheap handle. It totally ruins the effect. Do Taiji Sword masters recommend any particular kind of sword? Darin

Ryan, Huh.... I dont know the name of the form I am learning. My sister is teaching it to me and she learned it from a dude who learned it from a weekend seminar and he learned it from an official disciple of the Yang family but I have looked at every Youtube Yang sword form and every other sword form I could find for that matter and what I am doing looks nothing like them. I am thinking this is modification and I will need to go back to the Yang disciple herself to pick up the complete form and get more information on it. mjjbecker, Thanks for the link. I am definately getting more and more into the sword. I learned some basics years ago but I after being in the army and having a machine gun, learning a sword form just seemed odd to me. Now I am getting it. You'd think that after 21 years of taijiquan I would know better than to think I know it all but here I am again learning something new about taiji. Flashing lights are called confirmatory signs. They're like the sign posts along the way to your goal. Its like having a map to the next town and on the map is says you will pass tree apple trees and a large rock on the left after walking for 45 minutes.... then you will pass a lake with a small island and a dock on your right an hour after that..... then you will pass a yellow house with horses on your left 2 hours after that...... thats what the flashing lights are (and the Secret of the Golden Flower is the map and immortality is the town I am refering to). If you start on your journey to the next town with the map and you dont see the sign posts your on the wrong path and your not likely to get to the next town.

Most of the enlightened masters I have read about spent years on solitary meditation. Maybe you should try that? People who go off in search of masters usually end up as slaves.

Oh.. I think I am using "love" as a verb and your using it as a noun.

I love doing things "to" my girlfriend and its for love, out of love, its loving, I love it and she loves it. Such as I love to caress her body parts. Last night watching a movie I had her hand and I started with a short hand massage and then ended up just stroking her arm. I did that "to" her on and off for more than 2 hours. I do things "to" her because I love her. So why would making love "to" her be grammatically incorrect? I still dont get it.

Davids books are like most self help ones where you definately have to take the info and apply it to your situation as your situation demands. You have to think on your feet and not do it all exactly like he says. Just like Men are from Mars/Women are from Venus, you need to take the great things it says and then apply it your life which is constantly changing. These kinds of books are great for learning the "principles" but learning techniques and skills must be "hands on" in real life.

Exactly, women put up with more crap from men that men do from women because there is more at stake for a woman to lose. Women on the whole are on a higher spiritual plane than men according to the kaballah. I think thats why its much easier to find a woman who is a "10 inside and out" than it is to find a guy who has his life together financially, spiritually and is not playing video games all day or beating off to porn in his free time. Good average men are much, much harder to find than fantastic, beautiful women are!
