Does anyone have an occult.bz invite?
Taiji Bum replied to jacklantegi's topic in General Discussion
What file? I have a membership but not enough sharing to give out an invite. -
So is there a new Tai Chi farm yet? Any other IMA sites like the Farm in the US?

Meditation, alchemy, nei gong, give you more jin, jing, chi and shen while qi gong and taijiquan teach you how to use it. The "special" state of mind you may have heard about is probably the state of "no-mind" where magic happens. The quickest way to experience this state of mind first hand is to watch falling water such as a water fall large enough to command all your attention. Just watch the falling water and after awhile you state of mind will shift from monkey mind to no-mind. The water will seem to stop but it is really your mind that is stopping. Ever had something fall off a table and without thinking you reach out and catch it without thinking? You laugh and say I couldn't do that again in a million years? That is the state of mind that taijiquan is meant to develop. It is a calm, peaceful, impartial observer awareness that makes normal awareness seem pretty lame. Developing that state of no-mind in a reliable way was a huge secret in IMA circles since ancient times. Its one of those simple, yet hard things. The slow moving form is designed to develop no-mind as are the standing postures. If you have no real interest in taijiquan then its just adding to your knowledge when if your looking for enlightenment you should be simplifying. Thanks for the compliment, Mokona.

Years ago I worked on the auto line and would practice my weight shifts moving from line to line and the whole forms on breaks. I was looked as a little weird but I went on to a better job and they didn't. People into personal improvement... improve. I think the best job is no job, though. A cabin in the woods, a small personal use garden and all day to play!

How to do Taoist Alchemy and Raise Kundalini- Video
Taiji Bum replied to Taiji Bum's topic in General Discussion
I haven't noticed any changes in myself that growing older and more mature wouldn't explain away and I experiment all the time. My next experiment may be Ayahuasca. I have never even smoked marijuana but Ayahuasca has me extremely interested. -
Here I try and quickly describe my Kundalini experiences from1988 through 1999. Highlights- First OBE's, seeing the world as fire and crystal and oneness with the universe and classical kundalini blasting up the spine with inner lights. I am trying to give an overview of my early spiritual life to outline some of my future videos and for others who are going through the same sort of stuff to feel not so alone. Just so you know I am drug free and I am not a guru either. I am just a normal guy who had a bunch of weird crap happen to him.

Yes. It starts up the back and after the shen begins to transform it travels back down the front. That when you get the full circulation with the tongue curling back in the mouth to the palate and reverse breathing happens on its own. -
Its the Hero's Journey type of thing. After you go on your spiritual journey you bring back your knowledge or whatever you gained and share it with the world. It might not be wisdom but what ever you gained was whatever is most important to you. I know a woman who found her soul-mate and now her entire life purpose is helping other women find their soul-mates. Usually its teaching or guiding people and sometimes it is fighting for a just cause. Does that answer your question?

Yes. At every higher stage of the Alchemy/Kundalini there was a more extreme "letting go". Sometimes it was letting go of my preconceived religious beliefs and once I gave away everything I owned and took off into the woods for a few weeks. It wasn't really sacrifice but more of a letting go of a lesser thing so a greater thing could take its place. Does that answer your question?

I've never done drugs. What set off my kundalini was intense grief combined with meditation. I am however doing a ton of research on DMT and Ayahuasca these days. I might go to Peru and attend a shamanic retreat and drink the Ayahuasca tea.

How do I check to see if my local Zen Temple is legitimate or not? Is there a website that has listings?
-
There probably is but it's not advertising. Try taking a Chinese class or visit your local Chinese Cultural Center if you have one. There is probably someone in your local college that would know of Taoist gatherings in your area as well.

Congratulations!

Previous one died. I picked Zen this time since it seems that is the type of meditation I have been doing for years. Plus I was having trouble defining some things I am trying to improve about myself and when I found the definition of the skandhas it seemed to fit. Then I explored Zen Buddhism a little more and it really seems to fit what I have personally experienced over the years with meditation.

It seems legit but you never know. I finally found a website that lists it as legit from a Korean Zen Buddhist group. I am going to an intro class on Sunday. I need a new spiritual guide and Zen Buddhism seems the way to go these days. http://www.detroitzencenter.org/

The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali was one of the pivotal books of my life! Kundalini gets talked about all the time so I voted yes for a Yoga sub-forum.

Everything I know about Buddhism I learned in the past few days reading the William Bodri book MEASURING MEDITATION. I'd like to know the orthodox view on a few things. I am not looking for a deep discussion. I just want to know if these things are common knowledge for the average Buddhist? 1- Are the 5 Skandhas taught? 2- Is Prajna Wisdom taught? 3- Is the dharmakaya, sambhogakaya and nirmanakaya taught? Thanks, Darin

Its pretty extensive but also hard to read. He needs an editor.
