  1. True, but I don't think disrespect toward him stemmed from people's dislike of his practice. It was due to his posting style. If John Chang himself started posting on the forum, and acted like a jackass, he would probably get the same treatment.
  2. How do you "live in the moment"

OMG! I just ate some black liquorish and it is awful!
  3. Com'n BaguaKicksAss, let's get real. Either you want something real, that has been vetted by witch doctors and medical scientists, or you want to continue waving your magic wand around and playing Harry Potter role play. Your call.
  4. It isn't so much what he says that annoys people, but the way he says it and how often he repeats it. I really do think his heart is in the right place, but his style of discourse is juvenile. EDIT: Also, I think he gets more attention than he would otherwise, considering he claims to have inherited the introductory teachings of a rare, well-known, and controversial lineage.
  5. Heh. No, it's more like Grandma's Boy. And we be all like . . . 'cept Dorian. He's over here all . . . And then, out of nowhere!
  6. Without knowing what specific instance they were reviewing, I think that is a premature conclusion. In general, I haven't found his adolescent discourse to be overtly insulting, just pompous and condescending. But you think he only states facts?
  7. What has TaoBums taught you?

    The hipster mantra.
  8. Handstand on Mt. Huashan

Yeah, something tells me the girl doing the handstand on mt huashan does not have any kids.
  9. to become a ninja

    oh! and this guy:
  10. Rules for winning an internet argument

If you're going to yell angrily, do it in German. It's sooooo much funnier!
  11. What Are "Legitimate" Qi Abilities/Power?

Anduril! Duh! The sword that cut the ring from Sauron's finger. Also, another thread about Buddha Boy here: http://thetaobums.com/topic/23791-buddha-boy-grew-up/?hl=%2Bbuddha+%2Bboy
  12. The Cool Picture Thread

Awww . . . you'd never guess he'd grow up to be a spiny death ball of doom.
  13. What Are "Legitimate" Qi Abilities/Power?

Testimonials are not scientific evidence, btw.
  14. This is how you become a Super Saiyan

I've been doing the Batman and Wolverine workouts lately. Haven't tried many other yet, but they all look good. When I start training for a half-marathon I'm going to add The Flash to my training regimen. It looks BRUTAL!
  15. This is how you become a Super Saiyan

    While wearing weighted clothing!
  16. Handstand on Mt. Huashan

We need to find out who she is and hold a handstand contest for her hand in marriage.
  17. Meditation Inquiries

If you can't relax into it, wouldn't that make for an unproductive meditation? I have to get my hips warmed up before I can assume full lotus comfortably. Usually I don't do it if it doesn't happen easily. I've always heard you can hurt your knees if you try to force it.
  18. Rules for winning an internet argument

No, no you didn't. But what the hell, I'm a generous guy; I'll give you a prize anyway.
  19. It's definitely a lot easier to become a collector of books than an experienced practitioner. Before I went to your seminars, I knew very little about Chinese medicine. Since then I've collected a couple dozen books on the subject and I still feel that I learn more in one day of practice than I've learned reading all of them. That said, I do think some are better than others. I really like A Light Warriors Guide to High Level Energy Healing, by Michael Lomax; Power Healing, by Zhi Gang Sha; and Chinese Medical Qigong Therapy, by Jerry Alan Johnson. They are no substitute for real experience and instruction from a master, but they are interesting.
  20. Rules for winning an internet argument

Don't make me crawl under that log and rip your tail off, lizard man!
  21. Meditation leading to increased blood pressure

I think getting the BP monitor is definitely the most important thing. If it can be measured it can be managed. Depending on how high it is, you might just want to go to doctor and get some western meds. There are potential side-effects, but you don't want to let high blood pressure go unchecked for too long.
