  2. 10 day Zhan Zhuang course

You really can't go wrong following this! I had the book for a year before I found this on youtube! lol It helped alot! It is really quite profound, just standing still quieting the mind.
  3. Advance Energy Techniques

    thanks for the sound file
  4. Studies document energy coming from trees :)

Yep longmen pai has been all over this from the get go. Our Grand Master John sNg, STRESSED tree training, baguazhang has tree training and of course baji does. Heres a cool fact during the early spring one can hear the sap gurgling in a tree with a stethoscope! (smooth barked are easiest to hear) Trees helped teach me to both strike with palm and proper kicking. 1000 kicks on a tree is worth one on the street. ...off topic again.
  5. Advance Energy Techniques

more pie guy said "gobblededook" on pg 5 sorry for the off topic ness, my laughter continues...
  6. This video this master says that ZZ gives one the logevity as baguazhang! I think he might be referring to his own personal system though, I have not got familiar with him enough yet. I found this very interesting! This furthers my thinking that the standing practice (ZZ) might be one of those "hidden in plain sight" secrets to the high level development of internal power? If anyone has posted this link before I apologize. \ Please discuss! (SORRY MODS IF THIS NEEDS TO BE MOVED TO TAOIST DISCUSSION PLZ DO SO)
  7. Advance Energy Techniques

Is this to potentially turn the saliva into jing?
  8. A Zhan Zhuang video taoist point of view

It is NOT wasted on me,Scotty, lol:wacko: , I am a very slow learner! I have heard chi kung translated as energy work as well... Thanks for the input Chidragon. What is yer opine on the logevity issue Chidragon? I am also interested in anyone else who does Jam Jong with any internal system! I have an Adam Tsu Baji tape where he even goes into a bit of stance practice.
  9. A Zhan Zhuang video taoist point of view

Indeed! That reasoning is what brought me to schedule my workouts like so-wuji, qigong warm ups (from Victor Fu's golen taiji DVD), more swinging arms ala Bruce Frantizis, then about twenty minutes of standing work. I have been finishing my standing in the Santi, then after the standing workout my baguazhang workout begins. I find my hands have much more heart/mind energy (shen?) being expressied through them doing things in this order.
  10. Good visual analogies for Qi and resistance

For the resitance, I can offer what i visualize. I visualize my self feeling the wieght of the air around me as water, making it heavy. After a bit in the stance I can visualize resistance from all directions. I can't recommend wuji enough for feeling one's Qi. No visualtions are used during wuji for me, the only thing in mind is breath, then eventually that goes away. After you are completely relaxed/dissolved in wuji, (or in my experience) one can feel the chi much easier. One visualization prior to wuji is to imagine water pouring over the body starting at the top of the head and then poruing all the way down to the feet, as the water goes over you, relax each part of the body, as I had said, start from the crown.
  11. Zhan Zhuang

Thanks for sharing your progress, Silent Noise! I am currently in a pickle for a "sinus closure" in regards to payment for the procedure. Interested in any input on just killing the nerve and keeping the tooth? (I have considered this)
  12. beginner's question

Lettuce, unpeeled apples, general food roughage promotes peristalsis. Don't give up entirely!

  14. Sinfest vs The Tao Bums

I think I comprehend what u are saying Sinfest! (BTW, I enjoy your posts), but A LOT of the Kunlun info is in here and why not MESSAGE some peeps and see what they might share. If I felt qualified to talk Kunlun I would. Here is a hint, Kunlun and Kuntao have the same root! LAO XIE said this! Kun means fist, of course, tao means way. I don't know what lun means. ...from what I knwo of Kuntao it is SILAT and looks alot like bagua. ok, ramble over, but my point is that SURELY there are plenty of bums here that would share info via PM.
  15. OF COURSE! OUR ENERGY BODY IS ALWAYS THERE! It is up to us to keep it maintained thru chikung/internal martial arts, in my case baguazhang and Stand Meditation (Zhan Zhuang). Search these forums for key words like "sealing the chi", "building the chi" (try qi too). I feel the most from my circle walking. Heres an example of what i am talking about, just walking the circle with the mother palms. This will certainly build CHI! Just be sure to seal it and of course first learn about your lower dan tian.
  16. What are you listening to?

Love me some Johnny Winter (Edgar too!)
  17. What are you listening to?

THanks for keeping it real, Marblehead, but the more I thought of your comment the more I thought about how much dark music I have listened to alot of blantant Satanic Metal, i have never been a satanist, but I would have no qualms admitting, but again, what I was getting at, is how much impact has this dark music made on me? Now here is something I don't see anyone not getting inspired by, may be a bit to "heavy" for some, but i can feel the postive energy from this entire performance, Stevie Vai, Tony MacAlpine and Billy Sheehan on bass, not sure of the drummer and other guitar player's names, though. It is worth giving a listen and that last song was pretty much a novelty song and not the best from their output.
  18. What are you listening to?

good point, Marblehead. did u listen or just go by the band names? ...just curious the music inspire me to do good things, like work out. there is light in the darkest of places man here is something to lighten the mood

  23. TTB Song project

Oh my! i can't believe I have missed this! I AM A GUITaRist, BASS player, I can scream REALLY loud. Kind of like that singer for the hardcore band Pig Destroyer, who doesn't need a mic, lol. I am going to listen to this and see what I think. I got Fruity Loops and know several other people who could help me edit. I would love to do a very heavy song, loud guitars that push air for the yang aspect of the music ya know?
  24. Zhan Zhuang

I use ZZ in the way that I read Wang Shujin used it, before every workout, after doing my kneeling buddha's, reeling silk, swinging kicks and arms, I go into standing postures. Rainbow_Vein, the only advice I would give is to not spend TOO long in one posture. If I stand for 45 minutes then I usuallly go thru, holding the belly (which I align in quite fast now), to the big circle ala Master Lam Kam, San Ti on each side, Master Lam Kam's Dragon Posture and then the archer on each side. Which makes for roughly eight minutes per posture. I just got Frantzis' Opening the Energy Gates in the mail and really like it so far! I like how he shows proper alignment, so far.
  25. The diaphragm in reverse breathing

Did you ever teach at a community college JB? I had a chem teacher that explained to us the difference between precision and accuracy in nearly the same way! Far too many people don't understand the difference between the two. I will now butt out
