How does one really go about , well, rediscovering the art of living?
Informer replied to chaostheoryreaper69's topic in General Discussion
There is this Surivival/bushcraft channel on Justin.tv http://www.justin.tv/random_crap Yeah, if your srs start making a pack list of things you will want/need. Then once you get the things, practice carrying the pack around on trails. -
Good catch. Right brain ^.^

I'm curious anamatva, does there seem to be anything "thinking or thoughts" when this seeing is happening?
-
I think you guys made some good posts, I don't really have anything to add yet, thanks for sharing everyone!
-
I don't know anamatva, when I have seen things like what you say I have only considered it as imagination. Like once I had deemed to see a bunch of energy beings all around me, of various and differing colors, yet not solid but flowing energy. They had sorta of long, thin tentacles, and were waving them around at me and trying to penetrate to me. It has never really happened again, once I started to weave a shield, or pretend too Maybe the aura will block somethings from the vicinity. (pure speculation of course) Normally I can feel a presence more than see anything, weird. By determining a point you collapse the wave. I'm not saying that it is your imagination, I just don't have anything to really relate to it. Could it be your imagination of something that you were told or believed is beginning to fade? I have heard others say they see things like you, but I haven't personally, sorry I can't help more. =-/

I don't think it is impossible really, all you need to begin is to realize how little you really know and what it means to know, they sorta go hand in hand. (imo)
-
I think the energy would be better spent teaching others to heal themselves and then to pay it forward. (imo)
-
PS. I think you guys may have each-others experiences. hehehe.
-
Maybe you could try in the buddhist forum to talk to anamatva, will probably take pleasure to help you

As fire sinks to ember, love sinks to compassion.
-
Your experience seems to be slightly differently ordered than mine was, however it is an aspect of being needing to be discovered right? Maybe one day you will learn to juggle them.
-
Maybe you could try to practice metta to touch it. It is actually higher in relative location to the fire (solar plexus) or should be.
-
I don't mean to be rude, but can you "touch" the rejuvenation center or not?
-
I personally think the focus should be on letting the decision being made with more experience before it is evident to be a decision with incomplete experience.
-
Incidentally one must choose to be defensive in order to take offense.

An attachment to words, that are inherently meaningless, does not mean a realization of the purity of heart. (imo)

Letting the Taoist Discussion section mature...

I had an Idea for Internal Alchemy, but apparently there weren't enough takers =-/ -
It sorta depends if there can be doing without thinking and then doing. It is not the space per-say, it is awareness or spirit even. What to call it is for you to determine, yet you may need more to go on before determining.

What do you call it when all reflections cease to exist

Just wondering what you guys think. -
What do you call it when all reflections cease to exist

Hehe, solace is good to find where-ever it may be. I don't like to see it as form does not exist, more like water to me ^.^ -

Beyond the mind and thoughts, beyond the idea of a self that is separate, beyond the eyes that are mesmerized by the reflection, allowing the formless form to be formless. -

Maybe to see it as being one with something that is other than what you think you are? Then you realize it is not you or yours, yet it is more like you are of it. Like a place to travel within, a place to go. Remaining free, it is not something else to own. Something to be a part of . . . Realizing the things that you are already a part of. -
What is this intention, what is it arising in? Sink it to your chest and practice metta, if you choose to proceed, (imo) If there seems to be some sort of inability then try to explain it. metta is not necessarily what it is, what it is is for you to articulate, yet it is a good pointer. "This traditional approach is best known for identifying successive stages of meditation during which one progressively cultivates loving-kindness towards: oneself[15] a good friend[16] a "neutral" person a difficult person[17] all four of the above equally[18][19] and then gradually the entire universe[20] One should avoid choosing someone to whom one is sexually attracted or who is dead.[21] For a "neutral" person, choose someone that you might come into contact with every day, but who does not give rise to strong positive nor strong negative emotions. For a "difficult" person, traditionally choose an enemy, but avoid choosing a person who has just wrecked your life, unless you are very well grounded in awareness." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mett%C4%81

Yes, yet it is different. You won't be able to see what I am speaking of from that perspective you have chosen.

It is the realization of the emptiness that is an attribute of metta, that is inherently bringing compassion and realization of the rest. It isn't something to think, only can ever be articulated after the fact.
