How old are you and where do you live? I have similar experience although without the pain. It may be calcification of flouride in your pineal. Sounds like you are nearing completion of the awakening process. I'm not familiar with vipassana, but the experiences are telling a story of the spirit rising through the chakra's. Not everyones awakening will be the same, I personally haven't had any pain in the brow chakra durring this process, it was more of a tingling sensation, and at times feeling pressure and/or polarity of the hemispheres. You seem to be at the point where both hemispheres come into balance, so it is also possible that it would be helpfull to distinguish left and right brain activity, and try to feel the difference, then feel where they meet, and bring them together to the center. Once that is achieved, you can project to the crown. The crown isn't really a location of the body, the brow is the gateway to the crown. If you put your arms above your head, fingers touching to make a sort of triangle, elbows bent and about level with your ears, your fingers will meet at the spot many will say it exists. It could also be that you are overworking.

Have you tried to project to the crown to get celestial chi? , it comes down the spine and or through the hands.

All of the trials and tribulations of ones life is a unique experience. How these experiences are handled is more often then not solely upon the one who experienced. These experiences evolve as one chooses. There will be many teachers in all of our lives, from the smallest ant, to the grandest mountain. It is the boundaries that have been constructed by oneself that limits progress. The same remains with progress, as these constructs are broken down. There is only one in this world that can initiate these changes.

I think of the physical body as but a vessel for the divine. Not sure what you mean by shedding it? It sounds like you are on the right track, have you practicing loving all sentient beings?

Why can't it go both ways? It is all one and the same is it not? I find a man to teach me, what makes that man seperate from oneness? I learn on my own, what makes me seperate from oneness? No matter what I learn, I am learning from oneself. I determine what is true by experience and reflection ultimitely. What makes a teacher found "within" oneself? Within is as opposed to what?

Cool, is that similar to kundalini awakening? Did you do anything similar to recogonize the centers? My path began with kundalini and has progressed to here by intuition and some reading. Mostly intuition and sometimes spirits teach me now. Have you ever tried to hold the fire in your Dan Tien, then call celestial chi at same time? It is takes some practice to get the fire to stay. I put it there and do an inner smile, then start calling the heavenly chi. The fire will beging to creep, so you push it back down and resume. After a while I learned to keep both going.

All false attachements. All of these thing will be gone one day no matter how you slice it.

It is laden desire all that fuels your fire.
