  1. I am curious. I visited a friend of mine whom I haven't seen in years. Most people that know me know that I am mainly wearing black clothes... and several deslike that... and then yesterday she asked me (I do not remember the exact words) or better to say hinted at: that the black I wear does not really fit to my talking about meditation? To me it belongs into the category of false believes about were meditation leads and what it is about (though I might be wrong and the dark clothes really is reflecting the darkness of my soul...)... any similar experiences? with Smiles Harry
  2. "false" Believes About Meditators?

Cooool. Some very interesting points mentioned and great material presented...!!! My soul: you can believe me: it is as pure as the purest virgin Now I gonna wear white Harry

  4. Chakras And Neurotransmitters?

Yep, Matt, it's true: If in Rome they hadn't killed Caesar we'd (probably) face a different world order! Thing is: I do very much enjoy if serious science is used to make old systems of practice/believe understandable. If today the understanding of anatomy is used to explain why certain Yoga exercises produce certain specific effects: fine. If Yoga teachers today say that it is ones nervous system that is the door to higher states of existence: fine. Trying to give physical correlates to Chakras like nerve-plexus or endocrine organs (while sure not doing them justice it at least makes people "understand" that reactions in these areas mustn't be purely illusionary...): fine. But using terminology of an area that isn't even well enough understood by itself (science is far away from completely understanding Neurotransmitters and all mechanisms involved) is just replacing one not so-well understood "concept" by another not-so-well understood area in an attempt to make it sound scientific, which it isn't... and at the end of the day it makes things more obscure and even less valid than before... AND: it DOES NOT help the practice Harry
  5. Thankx for the link... just ine thing to say: Springforest, while good material, sure is not the best stuff out there...
  6. Chakras And Neurotransmitters?

Morning Matt, I was actually mixing two different things here. "whichever name you call it" refers to two things: 1. "what he calls "spiritual centers". I am going to assume that these "centers" are the same as Chakras." 2. "It was later revealed to me that the four centers correspond to the four neurotransmitters, Dopamine, Acetylcholine, Serotonin, and Norepinephrine, in that order." In the second case the question is if the "trial" is made to not actually establish only a connection but if the attempt is revealed to possibly replace terminology. My other statement refers to the often for the application of the practice "useless" trials to endlessly look for western explanations for traditional concepts. Why look for corresponding neurotransmitters? [besides: I actually doubt that statement!] It does not help in any way to make the practices better! It would be in no way giving more truth to the "chakra-point-of-view"... I tend to have my troubles if whoever tries to "translate" concepts. It doesn't help but more distorts them... but this is just my point of view... Harry
  7. Chakras And Neurotransmitters?

whichever name you call it... I'll probably never understand why it is tried to establish connections to "words" of the western world... Harry

No dear, I am not into stuff like this were I let others I do not know simply do something with me... I have been into ingesting Ormus once and these guys were offering that one sends them a picture of oneself. Infusing into this they would be infusing missing frequencies and stuff like this... a friend of mine did this and since has had MAJOR happenings going on... but no. not for me. I want to work responsbily on my own fate... hope to meet you again, cat with Smiles Harry

while I do not really believe in this stuff regarding your experience I tend to say: wait a little longer before judging! I always come back to a Bill Harris' statement: Chaos precedes a new order! And if one likes it or not: healing can be difficult! just my 2 cents Harry
  11. Yogani's Meditation Book

Sean I second every word of yours!!! Harry
  12. A little "addition" to what Todd mentions... but a slightly different point... there are even many variations of visualizations in standing practice without being connected to breathing... and even in this case I'D first start standing "naturally" and simply listening to the body... to its longings/yearnings/etc. etc. etc. You might wish to add visualizations later to a larger extent to see if it makes any change... but I feel starting with "simple" standing, that is not that simple at all gives one a proper fundament for experiments later on... and one thing to mention: there is a difference between visualizations for leading energy or whatever and those that are meant to keep your posture! with Smiles Harry
  13. Help My Penis, This Is Not A Joke

Sure everybody is welcome to post questions... and I do not think the question was stupid... and I sure have nothing against intimate details... but please... does it have to be THAT bang-in-the-face-like?...
  14. Help My Penis, This Is Not A Joke

Two things come to my mind: maybe you coulds change "Penis" to "Lingam" or something (not that I am prude, but this morning I asked myself what happened to the forum...) and the second: what is the problem with yours? you do not ask for help with the exercise in the topic line but for help with your male sex organ... 15. The 7 day raw transition challenge

Yeah. But over a course of a year my instincts were pretty good... regarding the challegge: My challenge currenty keeps to be not eating meat... I am doing well so far, but this is the challenge I am facing now... maybe one time in the future when solved the intellectual difficulties I metnioned above (TCM view and raw diet view) nevertheless: I am curious what you will have to report Harry
  16. The 7 day raw transition challenge

Yoda. I've been doing the so called instincto diet... the founder "claiming" that we, like animals, have a natural instinct to choose the right product our body needs from a variety of available foods by smell (& salivating)... at that time I had the chance to have access to proper raw fish (tuna was great & dried mackerel was delicious), raw eggs from many different types of birds (those of goose were WONDERFUL)... I could choose from about 25 types of dates, dried figgs... purely raw cashews, macadamias, pecans, pistache... many tropic fruits most of us hardly ever have heard about... had I had to stick to the usual bio-store variancy I would have dropped immediately... this way I really enjoyed a the patisserie of nature Harry
  17. The 7 day raw transition challenge

I have done my 1 year raw cost trial... not again or at least not yet... who of you can dissolve an intellectual obstacle I have... even most of the so-called "modern Taoists", especially those practicing some sort of Chinese medicine, seem to place importance on cooking or better warming food for consumption, as raw food is said to be too Yin and thereby in the ling run depleting the body... one more thing: in order for a raw food diet to be truly successful, as far as my experience shows, you need to have absolutely tasty stuff... the usual supermarket raw food won'T make your senses happy... and while I know that again these "modern Taoists" would emphasize eating local food, I personally believe that we are still to a large part bound genetically to tropic fruits that include Durian and Cempedak among others... nevertheless: may you enjoy the trial

  19. Six months of standing

And I thought it was the dog being in a human costume (or the other way round) that lead to the "awkward looking movements"... Hi Ian, I have started a few month ago with more regular standing practice myself and I belong to those that get these movements... I assume they could be "avoided" with a kind of special preparation phase for opening the channels and joints... in my case the body creates all sorts of TaiChi/BaGua like movements... maybe in part remembering I already oce did... maybe being the "original start" of all TaiChi/BaGua practuce, as they really look damn close to the "real" thing... I myself always found it difficult to bind my "mind" completely to the practice... getting it involved with concentrating on all the parts etc. and thereby, by binding it, getting silent... maybe this is more the ability to concentrate than to have a quiet mind? (thankx Gerd for mentioning the difference...) which helped me much was/is the (and now hold your breath...): I AM meditation I have been doing this for more than several monthes now everyday... somtimes just one time a day but most pften as advised 2 times a day... and after I do not know how many monthes I realize that there are more and more periods during IAM-practice that the I AM is not "pushed away" by other thoughts or "left" for other thought streams... but only yesterday I noticed very clear that the "I AM" stream "gets me back to it" when drifting off to somewhere else... it has been there like this before but never that clear... bzt whatever: over the time during my standing practices I realized long periods of standing where the mind was "at peace" without me having to do anything about it... and it was not the "day dreaming" state or similar... now: what I haven'T yet figured out is if the spontaneous ssometimes snake-like movements happen on the verge of peaceful-mind-to-talking-mind, the other way round, or not in relation at all... I hope to one day find a distinction regarding this, as I am sure there is one... Harry
  20. Natural Viagra

Be careful with things like that. I have once seen a report about pills like this, showing that often those actually contained the substance itself said to be "replaced"... Harry
  21. Taoist temple murders

The interesting aspect is: why overthrow the government if the teacher says not to be involved with questions of politics!?! (one of the "tasks "of a practitioner... according to his books)
  22. Tongue Color

Not really... dampness is difficult to dissolve if already deep... one might need herbs, acupuncture/moxa treatment... exercises for strengthening the spleen/stomach system... and one can hardly ever remove something by just changing the type of food (while sure it is still better not to nourish the old state of affairs)... fishes there are many, each of them with different qualities... carps for example is more cold and "wet" in nature than salmon.... regarding religion: the reasons for not eating pork are many from their original point of view... assumingly they have lost the original meanings over time and it became just a "religious" point of view without knowing why. With my very little knowledge regarding animals one can say that pigs do not have sweat glands (anybody knowing differently?) which lets them keep many many toxins in the body... further due to their way of being/living/eating they tend to keep a lot of different types of worms in themselves... SMILES Harry
  23. Tongue Color

Well, SifuPhil, according to my TCM knowledge pork is said to create dampness in the body... Harry
  24. Tongue Color

Refrain from things like sweets (all sugar stuff) as it damages the spleen/stomach-system (the TCM one)... things like pork-meat should be avoided as well... strengthen your centre... STOP SMOKING
  25. http://www.inbiworld.com/eventsdetail.php?..._en&num=298 if you are interested... let me know... costs about 80 Euros for non-members... so the basic costs will actually be travel to Sofia and food/accomodation which they try to organize at a very low price as well... Oleg Tcherne is a very knowledgeable teacher and I can wholeheartedly recommend training with him Harry
