  1. Brand New Wu Wei Thread

To begin with the character, 為(wei) in the Chinese language, there are more than one meaning than just "action". In the west, it seems to me "action" is the only meaning that was known of. If the non-Chinese do not realize that, then there is no way they will ever understand the term "Wu Wei". It is not what we want it to be meant. Since it has a unique meaning in the Tao Te Ching, it was meant to be follow the chapters in the TTC to figure out what it meant by LaoTze. LaoTze likes to use the dyad of Wu and You to express his thoughts in many ways. He uses Wu to express many things in many different way. If you use the same definition to interpret throughout the Tao Te Ching, then it would be a big mistake and started with the wrong foot.
  2. Wu Wei: Real or Myth?

Wu-sound 五(wu)音: Five sounds Wu Wei 無(wu)為 The phonetic of Wu in each term are two different characters. PS..... Marblehead... Can you start a new thread on this....??? Thanks. PPS.... To be honest, I don't like his(Wayne L. Wang) presentation already.... And I don't like the OP neither....:(

  6. A perfect wuwei act

I do understand we have some basic knowledge of the Tao Te Ching. As long we have the basic fundamentals in common, there is no argument about that. Thus we just apply the principle or thinking differently. Thanks....
  7. [TTC Study] Chapter 4 of the Tao Teh Ching

It is the truth of the consensus which is the most reasonable and logical truth.
  8. How many Taoists are out there in the TTB....?

Yes, you are right about that for the thinking of most people. However, a Taoist always thought that oneself is integrated with Nature and sharing the energy with all. A Taoist is no different from a boy, girl, man, woman, young or elder. A Taoist is just an individual who is following with the principles of Yin-Yang to stay in balance.
  9. A perfect wuwei act

Zhi ran is the hidden meaning for Wu Wei. You didn't follow the other thread on Wu Wei. Did you...??? Tao is seems like water....!!!
  10. Zen And Masturbation...The Struggle!

Thank you. Zazen is the word that I was after. As long you are doing Zazen correctly, assuming that you are because you are having lots of sexual energy. Just to be sure that you are doing more Zazen than the other to compensate the Yang used up by the Yin. Yang is the energy being built up during Zazen. Yin is the energy being dissipated from masturbation. Your Zazen practice is a form of Chi Kung which will make your libido more potent. It allows you to do it more often than normal but just don't over do it. At least allow three days for your sperms to mature before your next cycle of urgency. If you can help it not to initiate any action, your body will restrain your desire from further action. You seem like a strong young man. You are going to have a lots of this kind of urgency from the energy built up with your Zazen practice. If you keep up with the Yin-Yang balance as I've describe above, then you should be OK. Remember, keep the Yang energy level above the Yin. Best...!!!

  12. [TTC Study] Chapter 4 of the Tao Teh Ching

  13. Zen And Masturbation...The Struggle!

May I ask why did you name the title as such.....??? Can you elaborate why you related Zen and masturbation together.....???
  14. Wu Wei: Real or Myth?

為無為: Wei Wu Wei "Act without acting" is not correct. It is "The action taken was for Wu Wei." Then, you have to know what Wu Wei is.
  15. Just got Gift of Tao I &II

I am glad that you've asked with an open mind. They are some literature that were written by some people with the desirable knowledge, I don't see why that we cannot share it with everybody. For what has been siad, I will continue in my OP thread just for your sake. This is just a matter of discussion with people who are interested even they are not in the practice. BTW I am not selling anything. Please keep in mind, anything that makes sense or not; it doesn't matter who said or wrote it. Our minds are set for absorbing knowledge not to reject; but of course we have to do some filtering. It's worth to look into what someone else has to say; and you'll be the judge of that.... I sincerely thank you for opening the door for me to the gate of all wonders. Thanks again.
  16. A perfect wuwei act

Letting someone drown was not "let nature take its course". Again the definition of Wu Wei is: "Take no abusive action to interfere with Nature to cause harm." In your case, the police took some action to cause harm to Nature by letting the guy drown. To follow the course of Nature was to pull the guy out of the water from drowning. This the way I understand the meaning of Wu Wei. Shall we apply the meaning of Wu Wei correctly...??? BTW The moral of your story was due to the ignorance of the law.
  17. A perfect wuwei act

    1. The problem now, there are bears inside the bin. How did they get in was not the question but they are inside the bin now. 2. Nobody tells you not to act, but Just do it the proper way to guarantee their safety. 3. Yes, they did a good thing. Note: The discussion, here, was straightly based on a philosophical view of Wu Wei in an analytical manner. What it actually means and how to handle it in different situations. If anyone wish to leave yourself outside the definition of Wu Wei for your argument, then you are the winner.
  18. A perfect wuwei act

hmmmmmm............ Compassion...!!! I wonder did somebody has compassion for the little cubs not to be go on hunger. Hence, somebody left the bin open for them to look for foods.
  19. A perfect wuwei act

Yes, wu wei is being in harmony with Nature. When there is disharmony or out of balance, Nature will bring it back into harmony and balance. It doesn't matter how serious the disaster was, Nature will always restore it back to normalcy. For example, when there is a fire in the forest, the fire eventually will be extinguished and new trees will grown again to recycle the forest.
  20. Just got Gift of Tao I &II

Sorry...!!! The discussion was never finished due to some prejudicial issues in the Taoist section.
  21. Wu Wei: Real or Myth?

In order to be "wei wu wei", one needs to know what Wu Wei is to begin with. Again, "action without action" is another one of those bastardizing chaotic Western-Eastern speculations. It is not any different than the "do nothing' for Wu Wei. PS.... I will cease further participation in this subject. I think I had said enough about Wu Wei elsewhere.....
  22. Just got Gift of Tao I &II

A Seeker.... Thank you very much......
  23. Wu Wei: Real or Myth?

Read and grok this thread.... Wu Wei
  24. Just got Gift of Tao I &II

A seeker... My native source tells me what Still-Movement Chi Kung is. I want to hear one's own words as one understands it. Do you think it is worth your time to go through this information exchange....??? Thanks. What does 'still' really mean in your practicing system....???
  25. Wu Wei: Real or Myth?

The reason you are having trouble understanding the concept of Wu Wei was because you are only absorbing it from the Western source. Those who read Chinese do absorb it from the more authentic source of native interpretation. What we read, you will not see it in the western source. We can only presented the idea to you as the way we understand them. Even though we cite you the source, you will not be able to read and interpret them. The bastardized "do nothing" notion has been locked in the minds of the westerners too long for them to be changed. Based on my previous communication with the people that do not have an open mind, except a few, are not willing to accept the corrected meaning of Wu Wei.
