A person cannot simply rely on going to Church, saying prayers, reciting holy texts, chanting mantras, reciting the rosary, or prostrating before the Buddha in order to change their life and life situation. They must learn to cultivate the self. They must learn how to become calm and clear of mind so as to be able to practice introspection, and become watchful over their own conduct so as to search out and identify bad habits, mistakes, faults and weaknesses. Through identifying our own faults and weaknesses, we will then know what we must correct in our lives, and how we should proceed. Otherwise, these are the things likely to cause us to continue to live out an unfortunate fate that we wish to change. Finally Realized I made too many of the same mistakes here. Finally Realized.

people often attach to the illogical idea of some great spiritual being who will save them, but they fail to realize that they are already saved in their fundamental substance, and simply need to awaken to this fact. All a spiritual being can do is point out this fact and tell you how to clear away false thoughts to arrive at the same, ultimate, universal substrate essence. The effort to become awakened is all up to you, but if you do not make this effort, then there is no possibility of becoming liberated.

Your free will is limited because your consciousness is limited. People with vast consciousness have immense free will to determine whatever fate which they want.
-
No wonder they lose their free will. No wonder they fail to change their destiny. you can completely transcend the forces of fate and destiny if you learn to cultivate an inward wordless wisdom that does not attach to your own mental functions. In other words, if you practice the role of the silent witnessing self within, and dis-identify from your body-mind complex as well as the karmic environment about you, then you will be able to change what you have fated.

Our Free Will changes our fate every single second. I don't think you have interacted with the All yet. But neither has I.. yet. Good luck realizing you have the power to change this illusionary world if you try hard enough. I just changed my illusionary world by turning down a date with the most gorgeous lady an hour ago.

The All is always changing and evolving. Why do you think we were sent to live to earth? My human ego is of course a pathetic thingy compared to my Godly Ego.

That which do not possess us are not attachments.

can't you feel it? i can't see it yet but i can feel it

When you are able to see and manipulate the Truth behind the Great Matrix Illusion, then you will be able to merge your consciousness back into the Pure Consciousness/Awareness. This is known as attaining Wu Wei in taoism, also known as attaining the light-body in Dzogchen.
-
This is why you are prevented by your attachments from being liberated yet. More than one forummer, taoist, buddhist or otherwise, would agree with me. The only point of living is to discover the Truths behind the Great Matrix Illusion we call life.

What's the difference between a Taoist and a Buddhist? I am beginning to realize that Wu Wei, Dzogchen and Mahamudra are one and the same or at the very least, degrees of the same thing.

Ruthless Truth II - Love & Desires do not help you achieve Wu Wei/Enlightenment How does the Non-Self experience Love and Desires? There is No Mind. There is No Heart-Mind. There is No Head-Mind. There are No Emotions. Love and Desires will only reinforce the Illusion and the Lie that there is a Self. There is no Self. There is no Love. There are no Desires. Pure Consciousness can only exist as Pure Awareness but because there is no self, no love and no desires in Pure Consciousness, Pure Consciousness/Awareness has to create an Illusionary Self to experience the Illusions of Love and Desire. Will add more feedback when I read the rest of the thread.

Imagine if every man, woman and child in the world fight to surrender to Pure Consciousness. The world paradigm will change. In an Instant.

the Truth of Love/Compassion

How about.. the Truth of Love/Compassion?

I now understand now. The biggest Love, the only Love, one should ever only look for is the Love within one's own heart. This is why some of the highest practitioners I know remain single. When you have found Love within yourself, what's the need to engage in relationships?

I now realize why unfairness, poverty, materialism exist. I now realize why women fancy clothes and cosmetics so much and why men are so addicted to sex and conquest. It is like really everything is connected .. it is the perfect simulation to limit infinite beings.

Peace be with you and may you find the Ultimate Truth.

It is the free will behind our actions that has created our karma in the first place, and so free will can also change our destiny if we put the proper free-willed actions into effect. We are always influenced by thoughts and emotions that impel us this way or that, but it is our choice to listen or not listen to these things that constitutes our free will. Choose correctly your actions in spite of all the mental chatter and you can create a glorious future, even if the present seems bleak. On the other hand, choose unwisely by succumbing to wrong notions and the future will become something you would rather not experience. So while the capacity to choose a course of action is our free will, this capacity for free will does not permit freedom from the consequences of our choices. No truce needed for I have never fought with you in the first place.

Pure consciousness is greater, far far greater than love. No woman or man or mere living thing can replace the glory, power and beauty of the Universe/Dao/Creator. This is why sages of all faiths have renounced the mundane world to seek for the Ultimate Love Relationship with the Universe/Dao/Creator.

Whether for good or bad, all human beings tend to cling to their mental notions, even at times when they know they are wrong. We also let external and internal influences control us rather than be purely guided by our own logical reasoning. We let impulses and desires impel us down unfortunate paths, all the while blinding ourselves into thinking that we can somehow escape the inevitable. Emotions sway us and prompt us to do unwise things, even when we know the dangers, simply because no one ever taught us how to detach from impulses and choose better paths with better outcomes. That, of course, is one of the purposes of meditation.
