I wonder whom has an idea of Toaism being a "Just be" easy ride? Surely not you TM, and more importantly anyone with just a little itty bit of experience shouldn't believe this either.

There are many good times to do practice, for many different reasons. Especially depending on the circumstances. I would suggest to definately start out doing your practice twice to three times a day for whatever your schedule allows... Until you get much much deeper into your practice then of course you could rearrange your life to fit your practice sessions.

Intriguing! I would love to hear more about, Ghost Immortality, Human Immortality, Earthly Immortality, Heavenly Immortality AND Spiritual Immortality. If, ζΎζ°Έι would be willing to translate or even someone else. Loosely is more then fine for me.

Interesting... Thank you for taking time to write a response and I do appreciate what you wrote and the value of what you had to say. Peace, Virtue wTiger

Having you ever thought about being a monk
WhiteTiger replied to dragonfire's topic in General Discussion
Mal your totally right... learning to play the game is extremely important... I personally thank you for pointing that out to me. But I must ask why would one want to take part in playing any games? Ok... did i just do the QuanZhen say the exact opposite of myself... which means nothing? Thanks for sharing. -
Having you ever thought about being a monk

This is a huge subject I actually don't want to get into. Although, Its extremely important for any cultivator (imo) that one should always dispell any ignorance about things. Missing parts of the pieces is also part of dispelling any ignorance, from there you can make the right choice. This advice comes specifically for people that are interested in deep cultivation. Figuring out the reasons and so forth. Escaping reality and actually growing are two different things. But these are just MY views on the subject. -
Nice analogy thanks.

When I'm done reading through all the tai chi threads posts I may add some more information... as i talked about giving those free gems. Personally I really don't think anyone should waste there time with Taijiquan unless they are learning anything considerately decent... imo there should be some grounds to what are "red flags" to signal teach. I personally can't stand red flags going up when teachers are severely lacking in things they are teaching. Makes me want to immediately quit... although depending the situation I will or won't quit... Goldisheavy it is true once you have a decent foundation in Tai Chi that experiencing it for yourself and developing your own understanding as you deepen doesn't require a teacher but of course you should continue to go to classes to learn stuff... unless your not.
-
anyone actually interested in that Tai Chi thread? So far it seems i got one vote from fiveelementtao and half a vote from Goldisheavy = 1.5 votes

Thelerner, even though those DvDs are great I really wouldn't suggest learning anything until, well you actually have a teacher in front of you teaching some basic Chi Gong set/form or a nice Tai Chi class. the person to person connection is really important, imo especially if you find, get a good teacher. That is of course when you start getting comfortable with some of the philosophies Pixie, if you get comfortable with them. Just my 2 cents

*Smiles at goldisheavy* I think health of a person has nothing to do with giving gems they may know. My gems are really nothing special or out of the ordinary but many aren't exposed to it. The general good taijiquan teacher should know about these gems, or all these gems. As I'm not claiming I know something special many others don't but I show a special willingness to share them for no fee... no charge... I actually want nothing in return. I rather people be more aware and that's my gift honestly. If I make meet some friends along the way that's ok if not that's ok too. If i earn some respect that's ok, if i don't that's ok. If I in some sort of indirect way or direct way make other peoples awareness more about a subject then that's GREAT, if not that's ok. P.S. What i was saying about "when the student is ready the teacher will come" and conversely true also... opposites to one sided phrases/Quotes should always taken into account weather or not the phrase/quote touches upon it. Polar Opposites should obviously understood because its preached about in Yin and Yang, sun and moon, masculine and feminine, birth and death. We can even apply in to modern science or anything. The theory does not have boundaries otherwise its philosophical meaning does not hold true. Many if not all Taoist Philosophical meanings hold true.

You know its been said that when the student is ready the teacher will come. Lets say for a second, we accept this saying. Lets at least also claim that the opposite of this is also true. When a real teacher is really willing to teach a Student the student is willing to learn, train hard, and practice lots. Even hours on end with or without the teacher there. (The teacher may be a good friends of the student and the same the other way around but the student is mainly focused on trainning and the teacher is interested in helping the student when he has questions or wants to learn more and willing to train for it) At least this is my personal view on the matter. However I don't think this type of thinking is beyond my evolution of personal understanding. (My intellectual understanding which I view is weak compared to many other more experienced individuals and intellectuals) Maybe we should start a thread about real tai chi theory and principles for Goldisheavy and for many others to benefit from it (including me). Giving away many pearls or gems so people can have a better understanding of deeper things that need to be in Taijiquan. I myself would be interested in sharing the little information I may hold. (although a bunch of Gem imo, what i have to say i'm sure would be a good start off to the thread.) How does that sound to the rest of TTB that are teachers in Taijiquan or assistant teachers? I'd be more then willing to share a bunch of information about it freely.

Not like I'm a teacher or anything. So I hope what I add actually helps. Desire, energetically manifests in the heart and the mind.

HAHAHA Some teachers I've gone to don't offer the free class. I seem to put myself in sucker positions every time.

I now understand what your referring to when you say Fang Zhong (Sexual Cultivation). At least as it applies to NeiDan a.k.a. Nei Tan Fortunately through all you wrote I got exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much need Stigweard. I now no longer look up to Master Ni Hua Ching, I have deep earned respect for him.
-
Congratulations nice to see your doing well. Wish you lots of good luck. (not that you seem like you need it) Peace and Virtue wT

nice answer. I would definately agree! I also think that there the specific person (student) should be kept a special eye on from the teacher to see how he acts and responds to each particular thing. All teachers should be aware to some degree of the students propensities to tailor oral tradition in such a way that problems don't arise. Everyone is different although they may be same transmitions and same teachings... the way that it is taught and presented may alter a little. Thats my personal thoughts on the matter.
-
Thank you Stigweard VERY MUCH appreciated! Maybe you would be able to expand on these four topics for me. Especially the Fang Jung - sexual cultivation.

Hi rakkasan vagabond, There happen to be a few of different ways to spell those words. Changing them from Chinese Characters into english words of today can be difficult in searches on the internet. The systems I know about are... The more common one which is the Pin-yin way of spelling Chinese Characters. There is also the old system of the Wade-Giles system. Then there is the Yale system (not exactly sure if it has a more proper name, but the Yale system holds more true standard english phonetics). Unfortunately I do not know how to spell Chinese Characters into any of these systems, beyond a more common words into there variations of different spellings, but I hope this information actually helps you in your search good luck!

This part of the post i like very much... and totally agree with. Can you name some specific lineages that uses dual cultivation? It would also be extremely helpful if you listed your sources. But the next part... Firstly, it may be more easier to live this type of life style... It may seem currently like this is proper way. But there are a bunch of pieces or understandings lost. I can personally tell from the way you describe it. Secondly, what your describing is actually not the not strengthening Jing, but rather different energies. Having sex depletes your Jing and you have a limited supply of that throughout your life. Qi, normally denotes the meaning of "Energy" simply put. (other translations put a slight complexity on it but that's a different story to tell) Lastly, it seems from my perspective you have missing peices for example, While many believe or think its extremely much easier to go the route of having a marriage, of course i mean with sexual experiences, and the fact that you two share an acceptable type of relationship is that it ultimately is sustained for the amount of time you allow it so because it fills your desires it may however help you deal with daily life through different energy exchange going on which is what I think duel cultivation should really be thought of. Instead of duel cultivation being so oftenly superficially thought of as sexual practices with a women. In the end the truth of it all is the urge to have sexual desires of mating is because our weak mind. The ability to keep strong to our daily tasks with a strong mind talks clearly from a person that does his hard work daily and consistently. From all the polluted evolution our race has made that creates a bigger problem, the creation of computers, Televisions, and so forth. The problem goes further back but the most recent horrible tragedy of modern world I could say is the making of condoms because when we truly think about it the only time when we human kind decided to commit to having sex was or should be when we decided to have a baby. Would you degenerate yourself with the living styles of today supported and maintained in modern times. Well, I guess asking you to lay off sex specially when your already in a situation while your having it all the time would be quite hard. But I personally think taking as long as it needs to take and working as hard as you need to work to not need this is the best personal goal. I think if people really knew a lot of this information and they were not full of ignorance, then they truly would understand and be all reaching for this high level of cultivation.

Alright, yeah maybe most men... almost all... 99.8% of men love a great sex experience... So DO I! but the truth of it... if you did practices to despell you from ignorance then you would understand great sex... even though it is GREAT is an delusion. This is the big picture I'm attempting to drive home here. This is why i claim it can't be a real high level spiritual practice because your not celibate while doing the practices. Truth is, many Taoist terms use words like mate, intercourse lots of the the actual practices are just talking about two opposite energies merging and not sexual energies. Jing, is very well known undoubtedly for being semen but this is really just the extremely superficial understanding... Jing, is the energy your not conserving and refining through practice. (which of course leads you to actually start thinking wait... if that's true to conserve Jing to the fullest you gotta be in meditation all the time, and I'll tell you that's exactly what I'm saying. Meditate for days none stop, meditate for months none stop... meditate for years non stop and you could easily be considered a real sage... what i would consider a real Master, many even may call them an immortal but I wouldn't because I'm not so sure what one really looks like) I think the term Jing can just be better explained by any secretion of the human body... Hormones, and other secretions of the body. (which of course have their own subtler bodies also)
