I've seen some Fa Jin, but this?
WhiteTiger replied to Eternal_Student's topic in General Discussion
I just couldn't disagree with this any more. It may be some peoples experiencing that this is happening but it just obviously isn't always true. peace, wt I'm not exactly sure what exactly your insinuating? Are you saying that everyone should start going to class to meet a teacher in the flesh to learn such practices? Are you saying this to Orb specifically? (which I think you are) Are you saying this to me specifically? I think I'm trying to be peaceful right now, wt -
I've seen some Fa Jin, but this?
WhiteTiger replied to Eternal_Student's topic in General Discussion
Am I a Master? Absolutely not. Am I a practicing Student? Absolutely not. Am I an expert at Fajin? Absolutely not. Am I good at using Fajin? Absolutely not. Have I developed all forms of Fajin? Absolutely not. Have I developed some form of Fajin? sure. Doesn't mean much? trust me it doesn't. Do I think the Fajin I developed is any good? ABSOLUTELY NOT. I've been whooped by a few teachers demonstrating and so forth. Anyway you have to stay practicing to keep an ability and I do not practice any longer. Is their anything special about it? ABSOLUTELY NOT! -

Yep! A drill that is practiced regularly. nothing special about it. -
Please excuse me and I am sorry if posts like this have already been discussed. My hopes is to make this discussion a deep one. Why does one practice Internal Martial Arts? It doesn't matter whether you practice Taijiquan, Xingyi or Bagua. In fact their are many other internal martial arts other than that many many like Water boxing (Liuhebafa) or PiGuazhang Here are some reasons I thought up many may practice Internal Martial Arts for. Internal Cultivation? how to fight? getting healthier? Although these qualities may come in a practitioner that practices an hour or two hours per week to every day. Many may have even practiced for 5 or 10+ years maybe even longer. My question is simply why would you practice Internal Martial Arts?

Why Practice Internal Boxing Arts (Neijiaquan)?

Interesting that you do Xingyiquan. thank you for your contributing to the subject btw nice picture of Kuo Lien Ying. This is very true. Well said and thanks for sharing! When you say evil spirits I'm not sure we are thinking the same thing. How would you define an evil spirit? peace, wt -

I will have to agree with mouse here. By me saying I'm not impressed I didn't mean you should go around finding much much better. As I mentioned before I only know 3 or so people whom do such stuff and even then I would only say two of them teach it and maybe only one of them teach it openly. So just to clearly state that I agree with mouse. If Michael Phillip lives around you teaching that openly by all means learn as much as you can. peace, wt -
the "base" of taoist meditation/mindfullness?
WhiteTiger replied to zazaza's topic in General Discussion
I was once taught in a Yoga class where I was trying to correct parts hurting in my body consistantly on a daily baises that there are different levels which the physical pain afflict you. In each of these levels you can overcome them. The Yoga teacher was very nice and openly in front of everyone else. Given that you have found the proper exercises to eventually fix the problem you have you continue to do the exercises until the muscles become flexable enough yet naturally strong enough to hold a more proper posture while your doing movements in your every day life. steps 1. Doing the exercise is hard and painful which takes focus to do it with proper alignment. 2. Some pain subsides when doing the exercises from being mindful of proper alignment. 3. Eventually after doing the exercise enough times one will no longer have any pain in their daily life because the mindfullness will already be incorperated as an automatic way of behaving. It is like as an early child learning to walk. one no longer needs to think how to walk to walk. It is very similar to Taoist breathing practices. Easy answer to the question is yes. just my thoughts. peace, wt -

Nice Videos. I'm not impressed. Than again I'm not claiming I've been around more than 3 or 4 teachers that show that sort of stuff. peace, wt P.S. I believe in martial arts there is more than just fighting. Which each one can be displayed for its different purposes. I.E. showing Empty Force as a way to fight with martial prowess or how the art can be healing arts revitalizing different parts of the humans abilities. -

If my opinion means anything which I don't expect it to mean anything special at all but I would have to strongly agree that their seems to be a want or a need for translations of Chinese to better understand Taoist terms, concepts. I don't personally mention theory because I feel it can be a pretty slippery road translating whole theories although I'm not voting against it. I would encourage it rather, and patiently and respectfully participate in the discussions. What I am saying is concepts within theories may want to be explained. For the average westerner interested in Taoism whom is not a lineage holder within a Taoist sect can easily misguide others. I still couldn't agree with you anymore. Iskote you so gracefully post your concerns about the topic. Peace and respect, wt

It would be a great help to reference where these quotes come from please. peace, virtue, wt

Um... Do you keep up with any Daoist cultivation? Maybe it would help others to answer the question if you defined how much is a lot. What do you define as a pure heart? peace, wt

If I am so cultivated.... why am I tubby?
WhiteTiger replied to Taiji Bum's topic in General Discussion
Oh man spirit ape. You don't remember me? I remember you, very well in fact. My energy is just changing, I mean the way I come across and so forth. I am the same person though. peace, wt P.S. Nope, don't do tiger style. I am currently not doing any martial art and haven't done any in a little while. I just recently started learning some qigong. Every class lots of prep work but you gotta do it. -

WhiteTiger replied to Taiji Bum's topic in General Discussion
I second what Spir Ap is saying. And on top of that, as long as someone is working towards doing better no matter where they are I give respect. side note: saying this only further reminds me of things I should be getting on top of. peace and virtue, wt -

WhiteTiger replied to Taiji Bum's topic in General Discussion
Thumbs up Darin for the response. Chi belly... eh, idk. Their are many practitioners that have big bellies. They just like to eat. I think the person is a extremely rude way was trying to point at something different. I think the question that everyone should answer for themselves. What is the definition of a master? The more and more I dig the more and more I realize how much I've cultivated in the past is nothing compared to Daoists, and so forth. It is quite surprising really. I think what Spirit Ape is trying to say that actually is such thing as a qi belly and the idea of it is much different from that of a person with fat in the belly. peace, wt -
Taoist Internal Alchemy and the book 'Taoist Yoga'
WhiteTiger replied to Iskote's topic in General Discussion
YMWong thank you very much for your reply. This is very funny because it is my experience is that one must follow strict rules of practice to achieve certain degree(s) of cultivation. It is within these strict rules (I rather call them principles) that one must continuously follow. Although I was not testing how humble you are. Interestingly enough I wonder what does that make me? Don't worry no offense taken. -

Yes, a women is allowed to practice Taoism despite whatever theories, beliefs or what others will tell you women Taoists are not excluded out of Taoism.
