I'm sorry (this may seem like trolling but...) Such a claim can not clearly be backed up. Yes it is true that principles found in these cultures and practices can be found. It is in a sense a principles of nature which seem to be pretty universal and thus many religions and other cultures and practices will find these principles. Which is why you draw parallel to them as being the same.

Sounds to me you have some investigating to do and then to ask a few questions trying to get a better understanding of Wu Wei. Only thing "I" (whom is not a teacher and not qualified to answer) can only answer directly is Wu Wei translates to Non action Wu Wei = Non Action Peace, wt

Building muscles in a cultivation kind of way
WhiteTiger replied to markern's topic in General Discussion
Honestly its not to hard to figure out these things. A doorway was opened to you suggesting gymastics. I suggest you learn a little of that. There are many other ways to do this. Chan Tai Chi is well known for doing practices that can possibly increase your body mass. Learning some Chen Tai Chi could definately help. A lot of external martial arts can also be done and has exercises that increases your upper and lower body weight. Hope that helps. -
What an odd view. Old martial arts teacher used to tell me unless you have become a master at a practice only then can you talk about it. At the time he told me this after i started copying how he made fun of other martial arts in our class. I started to act with such arrogance. The problem was my teacher was either stupid being self modified later by his teacher as he learned to conduct himself better or my teacher purposely said stupid things to spread chaos among people attempting to genuinely learn real martial arts. Inner Harmonies state: - Heart and mind act act as one. - Mind and chi combine. - Chi and strength are together. Keep in mind: - Spirit to Mind - Mind to Chi - Chi to Strength

Although the following is true The next following May also be true but this isn't how it works. This is a standpoint of a Ch'uan Buddhism approaching the issues. It leaves little room for the cultivator.

Sorry at this moment I'm unable to render any ability to clearly and safely elaborate. peace, virtue wt

This sounds like a great idea. I support the idea and look forward to it. -
*nods* This is true with authentic real practices taught properly. Unfortunately all my search or practice for real Ch'uan or Zen Buddhism has lead me drastically astray.

I'm brave enough... or stupid and definately ignorant enough to do it. Although I don't have a digital camera I don't really have many pictures of me especially any on the computer. I've even neglected to put a picture of me (because lack of having many at my disposal) on facebook. Which I do want to put a picture of me on there.

This does seem like a lot of excuses although it also seems like you don't want an art that you are that you practice well and hold to a certain standard being misrepresented. I understand if another student of a different teacher whom tries to display how good he is at the art but misrepresents it and for gosh sakes he is a student of course he will not present the art very well. It could be seen as worse if another student was attempting to add a little something different from the original art especially if the original art holds the important systematic principles that may be altered when adding something different to the form. Your trying to make a living that's and market this stuff Its understandable to make excuses. Its a funny thing excuses can help explain the situation. They are good to know. Although they shouldn't be thought of as a way to mischievously deal with responsibility. (I'm sorry if I'm detering this off topic) I watched some of this (soon will watch it all) I had to interrupt myself from finish watching it and say post that all a sudden I have a vast interest in knowing more about Wun Yuen System.

I admire you for pointing out this. An eye for an eye... when does the fighting end. After not to long you'll be blind.

Thank you very much Marblehead for your post. What you said about Chuang Tzu's teachings of lessening the ego is something that I like and enjoy. Although I believe its slightly differently looked at by Taoists and again Buddhists. Mind sharing your perspective on the differences between Taoists view of ego and Buddhists view of ego? thanks, Peace, and Virtue wt
-
I would have to agree. wt

Excuse me for not fully comprehending what you speaking of. Could you define what you call the ego. Not to be judgmental or anything but we are talking about false ego compared to a healthy ego to survive in daily life right? Peace, wt
-
Wonderfully said. I would agree. Thanks for taking the time to write this. Peace, wt

I don't know but sounds like a good book I should invest time to reading. Although I do have many other books I should finish reading including my college books as homework. I will have to figure out some time for both Peace, wt

I'm not sure if you are directly or indirectly calling me not willing to be virtuous. But for the people whom have spent time and watched the way I have reacted. I'm sure they could shed some greater insight. I think there is a big difference between being able to be virtuous well and not being able to do it well. Honestly why attempt to do it when it only creates bigger karmic debt? Well because my intention isn't to create any karmic debt. One can try their darnest to be virtuous as I try sadly I do it poorly. The intention is to be virtuous though and that's what I'm attempting to do by posting and answering or giving opinions or new perspectives on matters. I sincerely apologize for digressing with the opinions and virtuous help on the matter I presented. That was DEFINATELY not my intention. Thanks Stig for putting us back on track. I humbly share my on insight on the matters. For spiritual practices I personally choose Nei Tan. (also called Neidan) Tai Shi, Internal Breathing, is merely a tool for taking you further into the practices of Nei Tan. Eventually one should eliminate the external breathing done with the internal breathing, if ones refinement can be done properly. This means abiding by nature (without disruption) which is called wu-wei according to Taoist outlook on the subject. This means being ethical and conforming to proper social ways of acting which can be super imposed according to a Confucian outlook This means in a Buddhist outlook following the 8 fold noble path which includes Right view, Right intention, Right speech, Right action, Right livelihood, Right effort, Right mindfulness, Right concentration Peace, love and sincerely, wt P.S. I really hope many can take good from this post.

Someone may call it magic or sorcery in an attempt to get many peoples attentions. Although to call it magic or sorcery is the same thing as not explaining exactly how the phenomena works. Which could include how to reproduce it and so forth. peace, genuinely wt

Well depending what type of Buddhism we are talking about... I have an extremely small understanding/experience with Ch'an Buddhism.
-
The same goes for practitioners of Buddhism neglecting principles of Taoism. Although I've seen much less of this it also goes for Confucianism.
-
I was just at a small basic Dharma lecture about a understanding of Nirvana, a understanding of Enlightenment, and I brought up where does going back in time before one is born. It came to me that Nirvana nor Enlightenment (Through that talk) does neither of the two unfortunately. Quanzhen speaks of the composition of Buddhism, Confucian AND Taoism practices. Many Taoists neglect Buddhist and even Confucian practices. It is because of this that they want, desire, attached, or enjoy the pleasure of having such abilities, having fame, being rich, and so forth. Similar to how Ch'an Buddhist often times neglect Confucian and Taoist teachings.

Journey through time is a quite important subject. Some practices take you back in time others take you to the future. Going to the future is a great way to heal yourself, as well as not needing to heal yourself by correcting the things through going back in time. Both are important and good practices. I think functionally each serves a different roles though. Whom is your teacher or master that taught you One Chi Palm System? Could you share any information video footage or something you can share about your master of your systems please.

Interesting Yes I feel the LHBF is in accordance with the I Ching. Peace, Genuinely, wt Good to know! Peace and Genuinely, wt

I may be willing to offer you some meterial referances on it. I can't claim how good they are. Although why are you looking for such meterial? Do you not already know and understand the I Ching? Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you do Liuhe Bafa.
