What's the big-deal with this so Called "Wang Liping?"
WhiteTiger replied to indra's topic in General Discussion
Really he is an immortal? When those words are spoken about him what type or definition does he fall under? -
First off let me say that I'm not interested in agruing or debating just causally questioning and talking politely. What is a healthy life? I'm sure their are many people not worthy of living a healthy life. I don't naturally crave animal products. What is a craving in your definition? I have no want, desire nor craving in definition to eat meat or fish. Actually I'm Jewish. I was raised religious. American Jewish religious, if you can call that very religious. I was way more religious than many many and I was always around extreme religious Jews. To use such a story out of context sorry does not prove anything. In contrary in as defined by you "Traditional Jewish towns" picked the most compassionate person to be the butcher. I'm not sure why your Jewish friend told you that and why. Although I will say meat cost lots and lots of money in the old days. A compassionate butcher means a butcher not so strict on the price of there meats. I hope you get what I'm implying. Peace, wt

Although a lot of people that think little of Tai Chi but shouldn't and let me tell you why. Tai Chi Chuan a.k.a Taijiquan is a practice of applications based solely on the Taoist form of cultivation. Because this is so from the essence of your own nature, your being. Because this is done on a physical level there is little reason nor need to gain big bulky muscles and the famous saying of these Taoist prinicple which they live by is overcoming the hard with the soft. It is not very often that you see the following videos. I'm not an aficionado of this stuff, nor am I a teacher and just a mere no body trying to get better at this stuff. But I do understand it. I have had the privilege, even though its really not that rare, to see and been around some people whom could embody these principles. Not like I'm the aficionado or anything on this stuff. Chen Taijiquan is a very cool and popular style of martial arts. They do not always fully embody the complete and only approach of the Taoist principles plus the Taoist approaches to martial arts. Although non the less they are popular for their Taijiquan and they are well deserving of the popularity. Through the years they have mixed a flavor of there Strong Taoist roots with the Shao Lin approach to Taijiquan. Which emcompass not purely and only Taoist practices but also Shao Lin approaches to physical force. This doesn't make them weak in any respect it can make them even better in many respects especially appealing to the eye. Although they are possitives as there can be negatives to these mixing of the practices. Most of the Chen masters, actually all of the Chen Masters are pretty much aware of the differences. Some of these differences appeal to peoples eyes. Like the following MMA hand up wrestling with Master Chen Bing. NOTE: BY ME MAKING THIS DIFFERENCE I AM NOT SAYING THEY ARE WORSE THEN OTHER STYLES OF TAIJIQUAN NOR AM I SAYING THEY ARE BETTER JUST DIFFERENT. To answer your question orb, while most real taijiquan masters could easily just use there ability to throw the guy without touching them, as most likely Master Bing may be able to do. For the adoption of the Shao Lin in Chen style they do endorsing hard types of physical force on top of they're Taoist, Tai Chi cultivation they are able without evading have the ability to create lots of physical force to beat their opponents. Master Chen Bing is the youngest of the Chen Masters in the family. If your interested in more information (although I'm putting this up for purely for informational purposes.) About Master Chen Bing He is the new hot thing in Chen Taijiquan, and so he is currently being promoted like that. I personally don't just respect him but also the older masters. There are many still alive and teaching. For example, Master Chen Yu, Master Chen Xiaoxing, Master Chen Xiaowang, along with many other Chen Masters like Chen Zhenglei to name one. anyway, to much Chen for me for one night. Lets not even get into Yang style. Peace, wt

um... honestly its hard to find good footage of that sort of stuff... Heaven Man Earth put out some nice video's showing martial application with intention BUT not to harm the others... although remember this is taijiquan we are talking about. Good taijiquan practitioners show off their ability to do do martial ability but tend to not try and hurt the opponent. (You may not be interested but here are some videos) Heaven Man Earth Videos... show of martial application's as well as martial energy at work another Aggressive push hands Along the lines of another aggressive push hands shown by Master Chen Bing does a sort of push hands with MMA wrestlers a nice video if i say so myself. MMA push off balance standing push hands Here are some pretty sweet applications shown in fighting scenarios from Master Jessie Tsao. If you have pay close attention maybe you see some real ability (a little skill) in the following Another great example... I've seen a lot better with intention specific type of fighting videos but currently I can not find them.

Maybe. More interesting super traditionally, as you age your body goes through energetic changes and your mind develops a certain way. Chinese as well as other cultures, often times have their children grown up in a culture that is already so close to these religious practices called Taoism or Hinduism. By the time one is 7 or 8 years old. Keeping strong to there energy and having a strong foundation from the culture they grew up in not to mention the family they grew up in. When your environment is living right close by to a monastery or temple and at a young age you decide to integrate yourself into that sort of life. Living monastic life doing lots of meditation, qigong minimal eating. Will easily gain you a life of living to be 100. I'm like a day behind on this topic. Hope to find time to discuss more things that were raised. Unfortunately dispelling ignorance can not be the highlight of my time spent talking here. A Confucian practice of helping someone out is making sure that you understand the situation well enough before trying to help someone out. You must fully understand how to help the person out which allows you to be successful in such matters. It definately isn't easy to attempt to dispel one of ignorance. Peace, wt

HAHAHA! YES, YES, I AGREE! So put what you said and what I said together. Train hard and train smart. Theory and practice!

Aren't there yogic practices and some Tibetan practices that that believe to exercise certain ways throughout your whole life until you die a peaceful death without disease or illness being the cause of your death? Weather you live up to 80 or 120 does it matter if you did actually spend your whole life non stop practicing health practices while attempting to progress further except without going to extreme spiritual practices where you may end up at least practicing meditation 2 or 3 times daily working it up until you eventually end up meditating for months on end in caves and so forth? I don't know about you guys but when it comes down to it. I think its way more important to just to practice. The quality the effort and the more diligent always the better. Maybe I'm not currently a shinning example of that. Although that don't mean I such a dim star when it came to daily practice. Peace, wt

All I can say is there is a lot of talk on this board. Many of us, including me, indulge in talking on this forum instead of practicing. We can talk all we want about amazing effects of Longevity, but the real truth is simply and utterly in consistent practice of waigong, qigong, neigong.

Philosophy VS Spirituality (Is there a big difference)
WhiteTiger replied to DalTheJigsaw123's topic in General Discussion
The way I see it there is knowledge and experience. Experience is learned through practice. Knowledge learned or is understood through theory. Thus when learning from a master, you have Theory and you have practice. Philosophy often times doesn't take into account of active practicing. It can encompass your own knowledge learned through practice and through studying may get some glimps of what they are talking about. Problem is it doesn't expand on what you don't know. It may talk about it. You may get some sort of a grasp of what its the author is talking about. What actual experience is mostly beyond words especially if we are talking about specific states. It is also still beyond words until you've had similar or the same experiences that you draw your understanding from it. I hate to be all elitist like saying you gotta learn from a master. The truth is a master has gone way beyond many MANY teachers and instructors, they are beyond experts. They have mastered things and not just one or two details but whole subjects. Peace, Sincerely wt -
I like this definition. Although if we take a braoder look at this definition why do you need to be in motion? Please don't mistake my question for saying you shouldn't be in motion. There are many GOOD reasons to be in motion. Peace, wt

It may be very common for people to wet their pains which may not exclude gender. Although that doesn't mean its not dysfunctional. The word people use as normal is similarly what people use as common. These words mean very different things and have different connotations. Please let me help dispel any ignorance. It is normal to wet through there pains maybe even common. It happens often when a male or a female for any reason is trying to keep themselves sexually on the down low. I suspect that most of the posts about how it is normal or common to have this problem is not addressing the actual problem. Which is one of two things. One trying to keep sex on the down low. Two deciding to do some sort of tantra and not deciding between a heathly way to do it and/or not knowing a healthy way to do it. If the problem is number two, than i say talk to your teacher. Figure out his qualifications. If the problem is number one I think you should decide to talk to someone you trust to talk about this matter in a serious manor most likely privately. Unless your completely comfortable with talking about this sort of thing. Talking about this sort of thing on a open forum just begs to get bad advice from a whole bunch of people whom don't know enough of the information to even claim that is the issue. So weather done privately or not on a serious not really attempting to fix the problem, which requires figuring out the actual problem in the first place instead of trying to fix the symptoms.

I think you should understand that there is a big difference between people marketing whats called "Advanced practices" on top of making sure people have the ability/body/energy to do actual advanced practices healthy. That being said... stuff like bone breathing, are beginner, intermediate and advanced practices. It all depends on how far you've gone with the practice. Same thing goes for classic Zhan Zhuang Many or most don't practice martial arts. But a greater amount know them. (meaning practitioners that don't practice them may still know some martial arts at a very deep level) Not that I'm an authority on the matter. Just my humble observation. Peace, sincerely wt

The follow post I posted was basically just the end of a desire I failed throughout the last 3 years to whip off my heart and/or fight for what I wanted. This was only a delusion that kept me off my path of cultivation. Although this has taken me off my path my resolve has never in my whole life been any weaker. I deeply wish and hope that this post doesn't reflect upon what WhiteTiger handle name actually wants in real life. More importantly I'm apologize for all my past posts (so many there are) that never truly represented who I am or whom I wanted to be. Peace, Sincerely, wt

I'm not sure if that is a threat. If your saying something can you be a little more direct about it. Otherwise I will most likely not deal with it properly. Peace, WTiger

Whom said you couldn't? Your doing a great job at promoting Buddhism. It just seems your promoting Buddhism, for whatever reason, in a dualistic fashion. Peace, Virtue, Love WhiteTiger

If you have not tried both methods thoroughly and deep than how can you talk about one better then the other?
-
What Taoist practices have you experienced?
-
Interesting. In your view, what do you think Taoist last or end stage of realization is?

HAHA another one claiming lightly steamed Chinese Cabbage. In California you can get Chinese Cabbage (Wombok) from Napa Valley Farms. Generally I suggest its just better to get more local farm veggies as opposed from stuff shipped around the world. I definately should have added Bok Choy to the mix.

11:33, I really liked your above post. Lots of good things. I personally don't change myself for a women also. Although I gotta say the be natural and flow like water is pretty cheesy though. I suspect your big boy enough to handle me calling you that. Understanding that I have always had great respect for you. The type of relationship I'd like to be in surpasses and is beyond what 95% Americans think of what a relationship is. Your not in the relationship because of desires. You only speak to give advice which is only presented in words without emotions because your free from all desires and attachments. To me this type of advice freely given is beyond any relationship status and is extremely rare to find I would find myself in this relationship simply because its natural and its just about cultivating. Because it would be natural it would be simply to support each others cultivation. The cracks that I have in my foundation would be fixed while being in this relationship. (This can be understood through understanding the theory of Confucian religiosity) When you no longer need each other (only because I'm young) the relationship would be over. But not as a sad thing merely as a happy thing. For me this is a big deal. I've never found a place inside where I could simply be at peace with a women I'm around. A successful relationship with a female ended because no trance of attachment at the end. A lot of what I just explained is very hard to actually understand. I'm also not so sure I'm able to explain it fully into words. But if you've known people whom are authentic Taoists or even Buddhist monks they present themselves extremely odd.

I hear they like to eat Steamed Chinese Cabbage.

Now normally I don't care what most people think of me or if they get the wrong idea. In this instance I guess I'll speak up a little. I did say it just to be politically correct. Gee, I never had a big Sis. Which basically means if I imagined for a second I was living with a big sister naturally mind would make her into a hot girl. Because I don't have any sisters I wouldn't know how annoying or nasty everyone tells me that's what having a sister is like. So then my mind would wonder for a second or two longer at the girl and I would get aroused.

I think females I actually like I just end up not knowing how to act around them. I can't be myself and I screw things up. I'm nervous, anxious and don't know how to act. But its been a while since I liked a female opposed to being attracted to females. I'm just not interested in dating or having sexual relationship. How can a person be in relationship "relationship" if they can't even be friends with the opposite sex. I guess that means I should learn female psychology. Females I've been around love to get in the brains of men and screw with them. Thus I don't like being around them. Sincerely, Pietro I just want balance. Having a women just so I can cultivate isn't being balanced. It is rather covering up a serious flaw in my foundation of cultivation. I wish I could gain the mind of a little kid where mostly exercise and play or work all day without the constant disruptions of my own imbalances, and weakness. So true! So true!
