The Taichi master in red is Wang Zhanjun, he became famous after several Wushu competitions where he was undefeated. He was a Taichi master and instructor at Chen village school, you can find him here when he was younger and unknown: He was asked to do a tuishou match with the famous sumo wrestler Akebono:

If you want to be Yang you need to increase the Testosterone. You may need to eat Zinc containing foods or supplements to convert the Estrogen into Testosterone (yes men have lots of Estrogen especially if you are fat or fluffy). The more fat you have in your body the more Estrogen you have. Also fat stores up Cortisol which is the stress hormone. So both Estrogen and Cortisol have feminizing effects, you want to reduce these effects by increasing Testosterone and Dopamine by going to gym and doing strenght compound exercises (resistance exercises with few repetitions). Also hard styles martial arts have same effect, but the exercises have to be anabolics/anaerobics like Bruce Lee style when heis flexing his muscles. The aerobics exercises like Yoga, Qigong, Taichi increase the Serotonine which has the role of balancing the Yin and Yang. Zhan zhuang is the best exercise for balancing Yin and Yang because cultivates both aerobic and anaerobic, balances all hormones in the body that have antagonistic effects like Testosterone-Estrogen, Adrenaline-Noradrenaline, Dopamine-Serotonine. The only energy you take from outside your body (with the exception of the food) is sunlight that produces D3 in your skin but you have to expose your skin to sunlight. D3 helps the body to produce Testosterone, also vitamins A,B,C,E and omega3/fish oil. If you don't have access to sunlight the only alternative source would be mushrooms especially shiitake mushrooms have high concentration of D3 but only if they are sundried with the hats upside down, you can find sundried shiitake mushrooms in any Chinese food store. Also you may need to eat meat that contains l-tyrosine aminoacid precursor of Dopamine and tryptophan/5-HTP precursor of Serotonine. As I said Testosterone and Estrogen are made of Progesterone which is made from Cholesterol (animal fat) with the help of Cucurma/Turmeric, so you may use some curry spices in your meat.

There is a Korean research team that found the anatomical evidence for meridians I think this past year 2015, there are some transparent tubules that pass through the muscular tissue. Not to mention that meridians were evidenced long time ago with contrast substance and then having an x-ray or through infrared photography. And the death strike can be explained by the huge levels of cortisol such a strike can produce,it is well known that you can die from stress.

If you "fill the abdomen with Qi" - in reality you don fill with any qi, it's just the way the muscles are tensed so that they provide a shape similar to a ball filled with air - then you obtain this ball bouncing effect that is just pure physics, so that any hit directed at you is redirected back: http://youtu.be/6xftdgXU3DA And if there's any "qi" in the abdomen that for sure is the serotonin produced in the guts and the adrenaline produced in the adrenal glands.

It is based on nerves, which actually proves my point. All acupuncture points are nervous terminations. A hit in a point sends a pain signal to the brain, and the area is swollen and is disabled. In reality there are only 5 areas where the nerves are at the surface of the skin. One is side of the neck carotid plexus, another one is facial nerve under the ear, the ulnar nerve under the arm, sciatic nerve on the inside of the leg and a ramification that goes on the lateral exterior of the knee. All the other "points" are small muscles that are squeezed on the neighbouring bone like the small muscle on the exterior of the arm between biceps and triceps, or nerves in between the muscles. Another point is the side of the cage is actually the floating rib that covers the kidney. But this one, and all the points on the body if you train iron shirt become invulnerable, because you learn to take the hit and dampen the effect in the surrounding tissues, tendons and bones. All these demos on youtube are done on people who are relaxed and expect to be hit. This is the key, brain surgery does not work on a un-cooperative patient. To have a brain surgery you have to sign a paper beforehand that you agree with the procedure, you are sedated and willing to proceed. So this is the key, the subject has to be relaxed for this to work. A guy who has the adrenaline surge to the roof does not feel anything, and the brain doesn't react. The nerves works with neurotransmitters, all signals are modulated through neurotransmitters. If you train zhan zhuang/iron shirt/golden bell/whatever they call it, your levels of adrenaline and serotonin are so high you don't feel anything, even if you have a crushed muscle you still can fight 3 minutes or even more so you still can win or escape. The demos I saw until now are on chickens, rabbits that have to be relaxed and skinny guys facing a heavy weight guy.

The whole concept of dim mak is bollocks. To really make it work you need that your adversary to be unprepared take it by surprise or a lot weaker than you are. In these conditions just a sucker punch is enough, you don't really need any secret training. Really the whole thing is a waste of time. There are some points that you may use in a realistic fight but rarely you hit them to make it work, and there are just a few max 5 points exception the groin, the solar plexus and the gorge which are not allowed in competitions.

Yeah oil pulling with coconut oil is the best, you'll never have cavities ever again, it heals the bleeding gums and is anti bacterial. The best to control the ph of the mouth is baking soda, and the best to whiten the teeth is hidrogen peroxyde which is the active substance in all whitening products.

How do you deal with a strong, recurring desire?
Andrei replied to DreamBliss's topic in General Discussion
https://aeon.co/essays/the-dopamine-switch-between-atheist-believer-and-fanatic https://aeon.co/essays/if-the-internet-is-addictive-why-don-t-we-regulate-it Dopamine is called the "desire hormone" or "motivational hormone". So for whatever your mind desire, in the brain the dopamine receptors are reinforced every time you activate the "desire". The fact is that the desire grows every time you recall it, which is the reason why people get addicted to whatever (internet, facebook, shopping, work, porn, religious devotion, food etc.). The only way the desire is satiated is to fulfill it, but it will be reactivated later cyclically so you need a constant supply of fulfillment. This will happen until you get bored and the mind moves towards other interests. In my opinion and experience, when you can't afford to fulfill your desire, the only option left is to create other interests that build other "desires" which will be reinforced by other dopaminergic neural pathways. Which basically translate to occupy your mind with other activities. Meditation by itself does not do nothing, it even gets worse because you recall the already grown "desires" so you kind of reinforce them. This is how Tantric meditation work. But if you do other activities or hobbies you occupy your mind and in time the brain is rewired. If you do meditation while doing this rewiring I think the meditation will accelerate the process because is like a mind shower, you cleanse whatever you have in the mind on a daily basis. But still I believe the only way to erase the desire is doing something else and keeping the mind occupied while the time is passing and the brain rewires. It is like any addiction recovery, either it is alcohol or drugs, it is actually your own dopamine in your own brain. -

Health food maniacs (looking for a conversation about "eating right")
Andrei replied to Ell's topic in Healthy Bums
The idea of healthy diet is to have a "caloric deficit", which means you should eat less calories than you consume. By doing that you enter in ketogenesis which means you basically burn fat instead of glucide from carbs. Of course you have to keep working out so that you maintain the strength and muscle mass. By eating less calories does not mean to eat less or to fast, on the contrary you have to increase the amount of vegetables and greens. Also there is carbs cycling: -
In my experience what helped the most was not stretching nor massage but changing diet and adding MSM as a supplement. http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-522-msm%20(methylsulfonylmethane).aspx?activeingredientid=522&activeingredientname=msm%20(methylsulfonylmethane) http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2013/03/03/msm-benefits.aspx http://www.msm-info.com/ It seems that dietary sulfur also has the best effect. Foods like garlic, onions, broccoli, cabbage and especially Brussels cabbage are rich in sulfur. I think there is a direct link between the colon inflammation and back pain and as soon as the colon is healed the back-pain subsides. Also what helped the most was doing weight exercises like dead lifts, squats and rowing.

Conscious or Lucid Dreaming or Dream Yoga - Any Non-esoteric Resources?
Andrei replied to DreamBliss's topic in General Discussion
The techniques have minor importance, what is really important is the chemistry of the brain and how to control that. This book has it all you need to know. http://www.cortexel.us/awesome/uppers/Advanced_Lucid_Dreaming-The_Power_of_Supplements.pdf -
Human etymology comes from Latin "homo", which they say is the original word in Latin languages like Romanian but in actuality is the other way around, homo comes from a proto-indo-european language since it has its etymology in "OM" or "AUM" the primordial syllabus."Homo" became "humanus" which became "man" in Germanic languages. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/homo#Latin https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/om#English

How do I take back control of qi and direct it to the Dan Tian, whenever it's suitable?
Andrei replied to Ryan94's topic in General Discussion
I prefer much more the 5 elements meditation, in which you focus on the organs around the navel, whith starting and finish behind the navel. But I don't do it too much, only when I really need it. Otherwise I let the 5 elements flow on their own, which is what they are suppose to do. And even better I meditate on the emotions of he organs in which you replace fear with kindness in the kidneys, anger with benevolence in the liver, hatred with joy in the heart, worry with openness in the spleen and sadness with courage in the lungs, and all this will make qi flow naturally. -

Andrei replied to Ryan94's topic in General Discussion
"Qi to flow to the lower Dan Tian" this is such a misleading metaphor taken from ancient texts misinterpreted by taichi crowd then qigong crowd, analysed back and forth and it leads to such stupid things people do to "make Qi flow". -
