Breatharianism: Is It Possible To Live Without Food?
Andrei replied to Aletheia's topic in General Discussion
Bigu is ketosis and/or fasting Breatharianism is stupid. Those who fast use the energy stored as fat in the tissues and vitamins stored in the liver but as soon as these storages deplete, they get sick and die. Which is why in TCM exist the diagnostic of "Jing depletion" or "Jing deficiency". So you can fast for a while but you can't for the rest of your life. Or you can, but it will be a very short life. That's why after a fast you should feast, and this is how the fast is done in Christianity or in Islam the Ramadan. -

Cloud based computing needs an internet, a network of computers connected together Inside that network is set up a virtual reality and everyone who enters that reality needs an account and pays a price Same with any other religion, once you connect with peers with same beliefs they install in you programs so that you become one of their supporters, so that you maintain that reality
-
So very good analogy, except there are so many people around here and in the world that they believe the programs can run without a hardware and without any energy spent to maintain the hardware in function. i.e. ghosts, spirits, immortals, demons etc.

The brain works holographically. You can take any parts of the brain and still can function but if you take the most important parts like the mid brain or cerebellum it just cease to function, sooner or later.
-
You are your mind and your consciousness, but these two wouldn't exist without a brain. As soon as your brain dies, your mind and consciousness cease to exist. The only purpose of the body is to feed with fuel the brain. That's why you have organs. Your consciousness can exist without body parts that are not vital but cannot exist without vital organs. If just one of your vital organs fails, your whole life including mind and consciousness cease to exist. Just that simple. If you think your consciousness exist without a body because you can dream or you can have visions, think deeper. You wouldn't dream anything without your body being functional. There are not such things as spirits, ghosts, angels, demons, immortals... they are all fantasies of the mind, they are illusions of the brain.

I agree with Marblehead, it took me a while to accept it and understand it. Unfortunately it happens only once until it breaks and fall appart:

Anxiety is a lack of vit B1 in your diet, or many other Bs vitamins. Nutritional yeast is the best source of B vitamins.

Riddle Me This
Andrei replied to Taoist Texts's topic in Miscellaneous Daoist Texts & Daoist Biographies
from Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinnabar#Mining_and_extraction_of_mercury Cinnabar or Dan is the ore of mercury, is actually a sulfide. If you heat up the mercury sulfide in a cauldron the reaction occurs and the sulfury becomes sulfury oxide and the mercury condensate into metallic drops. Hence the idea of a "cauldron" in the body which should be in the belly button area and a "firing process" to melt the "cinnabar" into "mercury". The question is what is "cinnabar" and what is "mercury". These are metaphors for "feelings" which are basically hormones produced in your body organs. Some hormones and neurotransmitters produce certain "feelings" and each has its own schedule of production coming into use and then burned out and eliminated as a waste product. Hence the idea of a "circuit", recycling and preservation of substances in your body without the need to waste them. Of course many hormones especially the sexual hormones have cycles synchronized with the moon phases. -
Riddle Me This
Andrei replied to Taoist Texts's topic in Miscellaneous Daoist Texts & Daoist Biographies
Yes, this is true because mercury as a fluid has a higher cohesive force than water so it is not easy to break it (which is why is highly regarded in neidan or weidan circles). So if you try to drink it nothing would happen but if it is broken in tiny particles of micro or nano level then this is what happens. Which it happened with all the emperors and alchemists who tried it in their pills: So I would take "mercury" in the taoist texts just as a metaphor for a "feeling" of strength, cohesion and fluidity which is difficult to describe otherwise if you never experienced in your body or others. -
PhD Evgeny A.Torchinov - greatest Russian scientist.
Andrei replied to Pavel Karavaev's topic in Daoist Discussion
Hmmm, I don't want to show any disrespect towards any of you or the memory of the professor Torchinov but these are facts, so to me it seems a very close relationship with Wu Liu Pai. Actually the traditional school from Russia it was founded by the professor D.A. Artemiev which is the disciple of prof. Torchinov. From internet, I don't want to give the link, if you use google you'll find it: -

Having a destiny does not mean you have to meet a certain person or you have to accomplish a certain thing. No, it's not like that. The destiny is like riding a wave of energy, sometimes you have wind from leeward another times from windward. The wind is pushing you in certain directions but you decide where to go and what to do. The interaction with the Universe is mostly random and the outcomes are in terms of probabilities. There are patterns that allow higher probabilities to come and patterns that allow lower probabilities which are "good luck" and "bad luck" but nothing is guaranteed. So the winds come from heaven but you go wherever you WANT to go. Will is the main function here and the will power comes from the kidneys energy. Which cultivated over a lifetime will generate your destiny, which is the Ming (Your Life) . If you are lucky to meet someone to teach this, this is like winning the lottery, it is not suppose to happen but if it happens it will change your life.

Acupuncture is scientifically demonstrated that works by ionizing the serotonin and stimulating its production and distribution through the channels that were recently discovered (seen by microscope) by some south korean scientists as some anatomical microtubules. But the thing is that serotonin is produced by all animals that have brains and it is well known that electric eels produce high voltages of electricity by using some specialized organs in their skin that produce the serotonin. So yes, to be evolving and innovating, all it takes is to read and learn some other things, not only "texts" in the original language. There are many languages on this planet and many discoverers and innovators, not only the "daoists".

Has anyone here feel like they have cleansed their anxiety by doing qi gong regularly?
Andrei replied to Taoway's topic in General Discussion
Qigong is a bunch of breathing movements and postures with the attention of the mind focusing on the belly area (which is called Dantian - or liberally translated as Field of Elixir - this "elixir" being a feeling of well being and contentment, I wouldn't say happiness because is too much to say that). What really happens is that you increase the oxygen absorption by using the whole volume of lungs including the diaphragm in the process. The diaphragm produces a slight massage on the adrenals glands. The slow movements make the blood flow and the lymph flow too which has a really important function. The whole body starts to function in an optimum way, which makes the glands especially the adrenals but also the intestines to produce hormones. The adrenals produce adrenaline, nor-adrenaline and cortisol. The cortisol and adrenaline needs to be eliminated through blood, lymph and urine, also the lactic acid which are called "energetic blockages". The guts from the stomach, intestines to the colon produce serotonin. The ions that you breathe or drink or eat from the food ionize the serotonin which penetrates the blood-brain barrier and the cocktail of hormones that you have in the brain produce that feeling of well being calmness and contentment. If serotonin or dopamine is missing from the brain, it produces depression. If this is combined with too much adrenaline or cortisol (created by fight-or-flight state of mind, which is normally called "stress") the feeling obtained is called "anxiety". Sometimes anxiety is produced by lack of vitamins, like B vitamins but this is because the hormonal cocktail is unbalanced and missing a vitamin or two may lead to missing the whole hormonal production. So food is very important in the process too, the exercises just facilitates the production of the "feeling well". But if the main ingredients are missing then the production is incomplete. This is the correct way of alchemy which traditionally states that Jing produces Qi and Qi produces Shen (the nutritious substances in the fluids produce bio-chemical reactions and the reaction through hormones produce feelings in the brain. -
It should be spelled Da Dao and means the Big Path, the Right Way. She is Right, there is only one Big Path but each person have a different path (Way). This is Da Dao
