That's a strange statement. Would you mind quoting Zhuangzi on this? Thanks

Hi blim Welcome at TTB. It's kind of strange that someone from Hong Kong goes online to a US based board to learn more about Daoism when there is much resource offline in Hong Kong. Just sayin' Hoping you will find here what you need. Please do read carefully the two posts pinned at the top of the Lobby before posting in the other forums

I am not sure your examples do your idea justice. Because it sounds like you are trying to eliminate all subjectivity. But subjectivity is what makes us humans. So I would make a difference between a functional subjectivity and a dysfunctional subjectivity. How the carpenter could be carpenter without making difference between a straight tree and a crooked one? The usefulness of the tree is a subjective element but it is functional and relative only, it doesn't involve any bias per se. What introduces a dysfunctional element is when the carpenter looks at a tree only through his carpentry standards (which are only relative to carpentry), when he becomes incapable of seeing it as it is, i-e when he becomes incapable of seeing that there are two trees: the one that exists objectively and the one he is seeing when he working as a carpenter, a relative tree. It's the same reasoning with the passing traveler. If they are trapped into their minds, they can't see the tree objectively. If they can put aside their useful but relative ideas about the tree, they can meet and live in the same world. I would also include in dysfunctional subjectivity most of our emotional patterns.

My experience showed me that it is indeed a very very bad tension reliever. During the first months after I met my wife, we knew nothing about karezza but we would often spontaneously make love the karezza way. When we had quickies, it would leave us sad. When tension is there, just make love to it , and treat the root cause, not the symptom.

I stopped clubbing when I was 21-23. Before I was seizing any opportunities to dance i-e to feel the joy in my body, because sports didn't give me that joy and I was too tensed during sex. Then I found yoga, meditation, internal martial arts etc..so I found ways to produce a new quality of joy within my body. Music is still an opportunity to dance, but I do that at home now. I medit-dance.

Convince me not to go out to nightclubs and sleep around
Bubbles replied to becomethepath's topic in The Rabbit Hole
My take on it is that if someone can convince you not to do it, someone can also convince you to do it. You would be better off finding for yourself what is good for you. I suggest you have a deep deep look into cause and effect and see from there what you want for you. -
Is taking an entire bottle of melatonin safe?
Bubbles replied to BaguaKicksAss's topic in General Discussion
My first qigong teacher was saying the same thing. He has some female students who use the upward draw with a lot of health benefits. I don't know if there is any drawback to this practice. -
If not money, my heart was on you.

He he he, there is no reality without side-walls. We all live in a more or less convivial solipsism. I am sure that New Age must be effective since a lot of people are consumers for what New Age is selling.
-
I was essentially talking about effectiveness. That means, does New Age really allow someone to get rid of ego based fears/desires? that is to say to be able to die one day in the grace and with gratitude?
-
My understanding of the criticism against New Age is that it is primarily a mix of different fancy theories without a consistent structure and that it only offers tools that nourish the sense of ego instead of allowing people to effectively question it.

Really? The mod team only pondered about pinning a locked thread where one could find some links and possibly small articles. Nothing more.
